Kennedy made us feel so comfortable and excited about the entire process and we looked forward to our weekly lessons with her. She not only choreographed our entire dance (a salsa- no easy feat!) but she paid attention to every detail, made sure we were happy and comfortable doing the moves, and was so creative with her changes when we weren't comfortable. The studio has a really great community of regulars and each week we got to see some familiar faces. At the end of all the lessons we did a "showcase" where we performed the dance in front of a group of people we had come to recognize through the many lessons and it was such a relief to get the nerves of performing in front of a bunch of people out of our system. There studio is at the beginning of a row of what seems to be warehouses and garage spaces. I got lucky and found a parking spot at the front of the lot. The studio space itself is charming and relaxing. I love the small lights they have hanging from the ceiling, and the temperature inside was cool and comfortable. There was an area to place our personal belongings, and the studio was clean and well taken care of. The class I went there for was done by a traveling group, so I won't go in detail about the experience, but I enjoyed it! I would visit this space again.

Many people gave us attitude - "Really? You should've came to us months ago. It takes months to learn a dance!" Well, f-ing duh. But it's not like we have the time. Luckily, Uttara said she had some availability late at night (10pm) and we can come see her. She was very encouraging and told us anyone can learn a dance even with limited time. Of course, it would be very simple but anyone can learn... And we did in 2 lessons. I have to say that MANY times my feet, hands, and my body just do not coordinate well (that's why I no longer wear 4" heels, folks! Too much bruisin' in the tush!) and, frankly, I didn't care to learn at first. But she was supportive and encouraging and always positive. She taught us a simple dance to do at our wedding and I didn't suck. She is someone that you would go to and walk out wanting to learn more. I felt like I was no longer a lost cause. I have encountered many people who would give you condescending attitude like you're wasting their time. Not Uttara. She never showed it even if she thought it. I would definitely recommend her and if I ever want to learn to dance, I'd go to her!
