I pulled into this place because it says it's a skate shop on the front sign. The owner wasn't even…read morein the store when i wanted to get in. i had to wait for him at the door as instructed by the door. When i finally got inside, I quickly realized that this was not a skate shop at all. All they sold were overpriced (and cheap) used, thrifted clothes or drug paraphernalia. I have nothing against those things but it was not what I was expecting and i was severely disappointed They did have an old vintage pair of vans eras which were dope. Other than that their 'vintage' clothes were too hippie-ish for me and kinda trash overall. I guess it's a good place to go if you need a zippo, incense, or blotter paper. Other than that this place doesn't do it for me at all. The own was nice tho and he helped me out with what I needed so i'll give him credit for that at least.

It struck me as "TJ Maxx meets fabrics & crafts", though with a notable overabundance of plastic flowers. Not sure what the deal was with that, but you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting a faux carnation. Lots & lots of fairly interesting trinkets, including huge name-in-lights alphabet letters, decorative mangoes & cheese - now *that's* white - and my personal favorite: the shiny pillows. YOU MUST FONDLE THE SHINY PILLOWS. As for the apparent Christian nature of the chain, it didn't jump out at me in terms of merchandise apart from a selection of surprisingly beautiful crosses (relax, I'm a confirmed agnostic, and I'm not going to shit on someone's parade just to look "cool" for grouches). So why the less-than-perfect rating? Because the people there appear to be assholes. I expect little in the way of humanity from the ill-paid among us, but my one interaction was with an older woman who was openly glaring at me for asking a question... in precisely the same "get thee behind me" manner I received almost everywhere during my travels in Red States. (In case you missed the hint/reference, I'm saying that she was a bitch masquerading as an acolyte of Jesus) But apart from this stupidly contrary-to-Christianity-AND-capitalism attitude, it was a fine experience there. In fact, you'd probably have a hard time getting *any* of the employees to even acknowledge you at all, so no need to worry about forcible conversions or anything... ;)

I just moved to Eugene and wouldn't you know, the string broke again, so I checked Yelp and found Harlequin. What a nice store and what friendly service. The job was done within a couple of days (I think I got lucky) and the price was fair. When I returned to pick them up, I bought a necklace for my daughter and some supplies so my granddaughter could make a bracelet. Great experience all around.

So when I found out they could help me with jewelry repair I was very excited!! I had been looking forever for help. Staff are ALWAYS very Nice! They are always accommodating and they do beautiful work. In the past I had been turned down from Jewelers because while my metal is not 100% gold. I do have genuine gemstones and a lot of silver. That is why I'm so excited I found Harlequin. They are more than happy to help out, give suggestions and their turnaround time is exceptional. They also built bistro lighting around our vendor area, and placed up lights to accent our awards stage and photo walls. I worked with Jason and he was so nice and easy to work with. Lots of tools and leather instock. Exotic skins all the way to 1/4" bullhide, and a wall of pre-cut projects to do with kids, adults, and for yourself. The hardware wall is well stocked, but the staff really stand out. Friendly and helpful every time I go in. Never have I had someone look at me like an idiot of dismiss a newbie question. They have helped select cuts and leather types for specific projects and have talked my out of a few things that may not have had the desired outcome. Prices are the same as on-line, but there are in-store sales and no shipping. being able to use a stamp or a tool before you buy it is really helpful and limits the waste of buying something that turns out too small or too big or not right that sits in the stamp caddy forever unused.
