Checked into this nightmare on 5 July with family to go visit Glacier National Park. The photos and descriptions are from a time long forgotten. Dont know who does the web site for them but they need to go back to school and get new glasses. This is beyond a dump. Walking into the room, the door frame looked like someone tried to Jimmie the door open. The room was very dark with old wooden walls, extremely nasty carpet I wouldn't put any type of animal on let alone human feet. Stepped on it by mistake and it felt greasy and grainy. About threw up. Went between the beds to plug in my cpap and found that the lights were not plugged in due to not working. Had to run an orange outdoor extension cord from between the beds to the other side of the room in order to use my machine. While laying in bed I looked up at the ceiling and prayed that the bowed ceiling wouldn't fall on my head during the night. Someone ran down to Walmart and got some microfiber sheets for the bed, not sure if they had been washed or just thrown on the bed. Couldn't get to the so called closet because one of the beds was in front of it. Now onto the kitchenette, there were no cupboard doors on any of them, you could look down the kitchen drain and see the water was getting dumped directly under the building. 3 of us stayed in the room, there was 1 coffee cup for us to share. According to other reviews, the continental breakfast was a fast food breakfast burrito that they gave you the night before so you could heat it up the next morning. No thanks!! The air quality tucked as there was no air movement unless you plugged in the big box fan left in the room. Thankfully it wasn't cold because who knows of the space heater left under the kitchen sink would even work or if plugged in, not start a fire. There was some old type contraption in the kitchen corner that I am guessing was some type of heating system from the 40s. Looked like the one from my grandmother's house. On to the nasty bathroom that you could meet yourself turning around in there. I made the mistake of looking at the ceiling and I swear it looked like someone had peed on the ceiling and it never got wiped off. Looked like some mold joined it as well up there. Then down to look at the outer grouted edge of the shower and that was almost completely taken over by mold. Went to open the windows to try and get fresh air in the room, the wood was starting to rot around the window and the locks looked like they were about to rust away. Hotels.com has usually charged my credit card for any rooms that I book. Apparently there was something somewhere that said I would pay at the "RESORT". Never done that in last 2 months that I have been booking thru them. I saw 3 different costs that were possibly going to hit my card. The one from Hotels.com, another one that they showed and what the hotel said my cost was. I was so upset/pi$$ed last night with her non answers, I would have packed up and left if it was just me in the room. I told her if there are any crazy charges on my card, I would make it a point to call my bank and claim fraud for all this BS I dealt with. Here is the joke claims from their web site. They have Airport transfers??? Really???? A Gym, casino, laundry facilities, connected rooms. And as I said don't forget the complementary breakfast burrito. If you want a good laugh look up DB Botique and Cabins, 32 Montana Ave, E Glacier park.

It just goes on and on...

Don't be fooled by the cozy pictures of beauty and grandeur...those were sadly taken several years ago. Everything that they listed on the web page was one gigantic farce! As far as having a gym, laundry services, casino, joining rooms, etc..it was all false advertisement. Talk about the proverbial "having smoke blown up your 4th point of contact! When the lady in the office was confronted with what was on the website, she pulled the plausible deniability card and said she knew nothing of the website or who maintains it along with the other two properties they own. Were we upset with the whole ordeal? Yes.. we were. Were we out of line and over the top having a "Karen moment" ...no, we weren't. She started using the word "rude" (because she knew she was busted at this point). Rude? Rude..?!? Have you sat down and browsed over your own website lately in the last decade?!?!? But she was nice enough to tell me the string was broken for the kitchen light and the chain was really short. That meant somebody tall could turn it on or someone had to stand on a chair and take their own life in their hands . It was an absolute horrid experience. There was filthy liquid stains of some sort of liquid on the bathroom ceiling, no air conditioning, just a box fan. Also a space heater shoved underneath the sink which the cupboard doors were missing. That's how we found the heater. The outlet between the beds did not work. Neither were the lights above the bed. we had to run the power cord across the room in order to power devices and a CPAP. The two queen beds were actually two twin size beds. I'm not trying to point fingers, but this is going to give the tourism industry a bad reputation on these resorts, if you can call them a "resort", continue to operate with false pretenses just to draw in unsuspecting tourists to their demise. The pictures I attached are of their listings. It's almost like a couple folks got together that one night, got drunk and decided to make all this up and thought it would be funny to post on their website. SMDH. On top of that, when making reservations with Hotels.com or Expedia, it's usually paid through the website. It didn't seem so in this case. Super sketchy.. and very suspect at a minimum. On a scale of 0 to 10, I rank this as a "Garbage". There's no other colorful way to put it.. if you've not had the opportunity or the experience of being taken to the cleaners, lied to and have all your hopes and dreams pulled out from underneath you, then this is the place you wanna be! If it's on the Internet, it must be true! Ain't that right Dancing Bear Inn?? And to think this is AAA approved!!!! ShaaaaRIGHT!

mold in bathroom

I stayed at this hotel from 9/4-9/9/18. Upon checkin to my room, it had a distinct odor of Marijuana smoke. This is inconsistent with the website stating all rooms are non-smoking. This was a particular issue for me as I am asthmatic. I spoke with the front desk person who indicated they had no other rooms available but they would make an adjustment on my bill for this issue. That was never done. Additionally I asked for a AARP rate, they indicated they would take $10/night from the rate. That was never done. Additionally the TV remote would not work to turn the TV on. Additionally the bathroom had a significant mold issue as evidenced by mold on the shower curtain. I am highly allergic to mold. I attempted several times to contact management while I was on site and afterwards by phone. They never contacted me nor did anything they said they would do with regard to remediating my issues or provide refunds. Additionally the TV remote would not work to turn the TV on. Additionally the bathroom had a significant mold issue as evidenced by mold on the shower curtain. I am highly allergic to mold. Lastly, my room was not cleaned daily. They also do not disclose that the hotel is 500 feet from railroad tracks that have trains coming through every 30 mins at all hours of the night. These people are borderline criminal. They will tell you anything to make you think they will resolve any issue. Instead you will get nothing and like it! Do yourself a favor and do not stay here.

They had one of the best gift shops I've seen during this Montana trip and picked up a bunch of stuff for my loved ones at home. The main lounge has lots of wooden furniture and a big beautiful fireplace. My husband enjoyed playing horseshoe out back and I got my mother in law to play the 1890s piano! But then I learned it's the original grand lodge built by the Great Northern Railway, full of history! In terms of location, it worked perfectly for one night of our trip. It's very convenient for the Two Medicine area of the park. But I wouldn't recommend it as a base for a long visit, it's almost an hour drive to the St Mary visitor center. I'm pretty surprised by the negative reviews here. We stayed in a Main Lodge Value room and found everything clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy, but everything I expected in the room. And the lobby and common areas were outstanding. There are a ton of great places to sit, the big logs are really impressive, and the grounds are terrific, with flowers, horseshoes, and even a small (lumpy) soccer field. Everyone we encountered were friendly and hardworking. Most surprising are complaints about tiny showers: ours had a neat large clawfoot bathtub with good fixture & curtains to shower. So I guess that isn't a common feature, but it's not like we had a super deluxe room.

I would just recommend for the chair by the table to be replaced since cushion was covered in stains. I didn't sit down. Also, more lighting in the room. The two lamps were not enough for me to look through my suitcase and the bathroom could use a couple of hooks please. Om the first morning, there was a small drive through café across the street which had yummy homemade pumpkin spice coffee but the following two mornings they were closed. Front desk said they would send the manager who never showed up. Back to the front desk and spoke to the manager who said there were no other rooms available and whose fix was to provide fans. Not a good fix. No other way to cool the room. We had to go elsewhere if we wanted to sleep so we told the manager we wouldn't be staying. He got rude and said we wouldn't get a refund. I asked for the owner's phone number and he said he was out of town and it wouldn't matter anyway. It was apparent to me that the A/C had not been working for a while and they didn't care. They had their money. We spoke with another patron who was not happy with their room either and said all other motels in the area were booked solid. We were at a popular National Park. Also there was little to no cell phone service in the area for both ATT and Verizon. So we were even unable to check other nearby motels for vacancies.

The shower definitely needs some work as does the water temperature; it was either scalding hot or freezing cold (no exaggeration). Needless to say, I must of taken the quickest shower of my life. The only thing that slowed me down was the fact that every time I tried to raise my arm, my elbow hit one of the walls (it was that tiny). Since I only stayed one night, it was do-able. If I planned on stopping through longer, I would possibly consider something a bit more spacious. PS. The lady, Judy, who runs the place is a hoot! She definitely brings a lot of charm to this location.

It is worth staying here just to meet Judy!…read more She breathes joy and warmth into this sleepy little motel, and gives you candid and spot on reviews of the local eateries and attractions. And she is exceedingly accommodating. We arrived at 11pm, no problem, and that night the Amtrak didn't get in until 2am, and she woke up to greet her guest with bells on her toes. But let's make sure we all understand what the Sears Motel is. It is a low budget place to lodge during your explorations of Glacier National Park. This isn't a Hyatt, or even Comfort Inn, this is the cottage your family stayed in at the lake for vacation when you were a kid, minus the kitchenette. We stayed in #8, and found two very comfortable beds, a CLEAN, but small bathroom with excellent water pressure in the shower with plenty of hot water for us all. Let's be real, we only wanted a place to sleep. We explored Glacier from sun up to past sun down for our three days here, and exhausted and needing showers and beds, this was WELL WORTH the budget price. I would enthusiastically recommend this place to anyone who understands this kind of travel with a 12 and 10 year old. A few details: - The units are not air conditioned. There is a fan. We stayed here during the hottest June days they ever had in Glacier, and with the door and window open and never needed the fan. - Yes, three is a TV, I think she should get rid of them. We didn't need it, and were annoyed to hear one being used in #7 which was attached to us. Note, we only heard it because their door and our door were open, we did not hear the TV through the shared wall. - The front deck on our unit was a thrill to have every night as we enjoyed a cider or a beer - Eat breakfast at both Luna's and Whistle Stop, breakfasts that were hearty and put a big smile on your face, oh, and the bakery across the street is GREAT If we were annoyed with Judy for anything, anything at all, it was that she didn't wake us to see the Black Bear with cub that was in the campground two mornings in a row. Come on Judy! Unfortunately, unlike everyone else at Glacier while were were there, we didn't see any bears, and the ones in the Sears Motel Campground were as close as we got. Seriously, for us this was a great find for our family travels out west to Glacier and back, and not only would I recommend the place for the traveler with the proper mindset, we would enthusiastically stay here again, and very much hope we do again some day. PS... The gift shop is filled with treats too! Don't skip it if you are there.
