We had a problem with hot water the first night, but after that, everything seemed to be fine. This location is on the site of an old railroad Depot and several of the rooms are renovated rail cars. We were in the main inn; we use the washing machines and dryers. The sauna was opened, but the hot tub was not as we went very early in the season. The hot tub is located among a Grove of trees that must be amazing in the summer. Although the staff were and there were some conflicting information about various amenities, for the most part, they really were there to make, everyone comfortable. This hotel was close to the park entrance and so it was easy getting into glacier. I would stay here again.

We intentionally stayed here in October 2024 on our visit to Glacier National Park because we wanted our home base to be at a place where we could drive to both East Glacier and West Glacier and be relatively not too far from either. While this LOGE has diverse room stay options, such as train cars, an old school house, and cabins, we opted to stay in a "standard room" in the historic Izaak Walton Inn. I think the LOGE folks quite recently purchased the inn and were still ironing out some kinks. For example, their gift shop was not yet open and the restaurant were consistently out of some beverage and food options. A few notes: -The staff were warm and courteous. They really helped create a homey, family vibe. -They don't clean your room everyday, and no phone in your room as you communicate with the staff via text, but they have these small cool touches like plug-in shoe warmers in your room to dry your wet boots, as well as other outdoorsy amenities (see pics). -They also lent out bear spray for free so that we didn't have to buy a canister, which we really appreciated. (Thankfully, we didn't have to use it, despite seeing A LOT of grizzlies on the trails.) -The hotel is located pretty close to the train tracks, and while trains were coming and going pretty frequently, they didn't ever bother us. No problems falling and staying asleep. -The restaurant and bar at the place had pretty decent food and drinks. -The place is a bit pricey, but I guess that's to be expected for the boutique hotel experience and most places in the vicinity are closed. We would recommend this place and would likely stay here again for future Glacier National Park excursions.

The rehearsal dinner was held on the steakhouse patio. The food was great and so was the service. The wedding was held on the wilderness overlook. The reception was then held at the pavilion. Great food and service. The pavilion also worked well for the DJ. We even had a rain/hail storm in the middle of the reception and we stayed dry. There are plenty of hiking trails nearby. If you are a mountain biker, the venue is not in Glacier Park so there are biking trails nearby also. There is wifi at the lodge but not at the cabins. I was able to hold a zoom meeting with work while sitting at the lodge patio. There is not cell phone service (I have ATT.) That could be a positive or a negative. Only negative? There was supposed to be a moose in the area but we did not see it.

I had a problem getting my reservation set up. I called a independent travel agent for help. We discovered this is NOT a HIE hotel. A simple phone call to the desk will confirm this. I didnt get so far as entering any personal information and had no worry about that. I was able to reroute our trip to enter GNP from West Glacier instead of traveling north on I-15 and coming into GNP on US Highway 2. Hopefully you will discover that this place is not an HIE as some of their adverts suggest.

They manage all of these nice cabins on the hill overlooking St Mary. Cabins were very clean and had everything we needed. Terry gave us some history of the area and provided suggestions for places to eat and the best trails to hike. Throughout the 3 days we spent there, I had the pleasure of learning the rich history about Sally's father and family who essentially built St Mary when he worked as a ranger and started to acquire land in the 1920's. We highly recommend The Cottages at Glacier.

This is really Montana at its best with Big Sky's hospitality and a deep sense of hospitality. Our cowboy Jordan checked us in the only remaining executive suite, after my brother in law kindly offer that room to us. The room is super spacious and comfortable with the rustic charm of western comfort! Their Wi-Fi was not working properly and Jordan got it fixed in a minute. Their blanket service is fantastic with super clean and individual plastic cover. Overall this is by far the best "Best Western" I have had the chance to visit. Brian (part of the staff) greeted us on Day 1, and he was there just about all of the time. He was extremely, extremely helpful. And extremely, extremely nice. Service like this goes a long way. Some special notes which made this place way, way above your typical hotel stay (as compared to mainstream brands like Hilton or Marriot).. The room(s) were impeccable with detail. Everything from the chairs outside of the rooms, the towels, folding the beds/pillows etc... You could tell they put a custom touch on. The breakfast was nothing short of delicious staring with the coffee, which was excellent quality coffee. Not farmer bros or max house, this stuff was top tier. (I am a coffee snob and do strictly pour overs only at home). Breakfast burritos were delicious. And the huckleberry jam and bread was excellent. You get a REAL breakfast here. It is close to the West park entrance. Best of all is how Brian runs this lodge, from attention to detail of amenities, cleanliness, yummy breakfast burritos and yogurt bowls for breakfast. Our bag lunch we ordered and Brian made was so nice to have on our day drive the next day. This place is quaint, quiet and so nice to come back to after an adventurous day. We stayed in room #5 on the 1st floor. We loved it. Has a refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker (tea and coffee) Nice roomy bathroom, two queen beds in a spacious room with a patio off the back as well as Adirondack chairs in the front.
