    Mama and Baby moose!

Wonderful food after a wonderful day of exploring. And the best part? A visit from a Mama and baby moose during our meal. This is the view from the balcony of the restaurant. We stayed here too and had a wonderful experience. Ted is the owner and a wildlife photographer - so friendly and helpful!

What a great stay! The views are just stunning. We learned our cabin (the three bears) is currently one of the only ones with TV. If you're like my family, sometimes TOO MUCH togetherness isn't always a good thing so I recommend a cabin with TV considering there's zero cell service on the lot and there's only wifi in the main lodge. The restaurant in the main lodge was the best meal I had in Montana during my one week stay. And the views are unbeatable. My only critique is that the wifi offered in the main lodge is pretty spotty, so don't expect to be able to get much done from a phone or laptop in there.

We intentionally stayed here in October 2024 on our visit to Glacier National Park because we wanted our home base to be at a place where we could drive to both East Glacier and West Glacier and be relatively not too far from either. While this LOGE has diverse room stay options, such as train cars, an old school house, and cabins, we opted to stay in a "standard room" in the historic Izaak Walton Inn. I think the LOGE folks quite recently purchased the inn and were still ironing out some kinks. For example, their gift shop was not yet open and the restaurant were consistently out of some beverage and food options. A few notes: -The staff were warm and courteous. They really helped create a homey, family vibe. -They don't clean your room everyday, and no phone in your room as you communicate with the staff via text, but they have these small cool touches like plug-in shoe warmers in your room to dry your wet boots, as well as other outdoorsy amenities (see pics). -They also lent out bear spray for free so that we didn't have to buy a canister, which we really appreciated. (Thankfully, we didn't have to use it, despite seeing A LOT of grizzlies on the trails.) -The hotel is located pretty close to the train tracks, and while trains were coming and going pretty frequently, they didn't ever bother us. No problems falling and staying asleep. -The restaurant and bar at the place had pretty decent food and drinks. -The place is a bit pricey, but I guess that's to be expected for the boutique hotel experience and most places in the vicinity are closed. We would recommend this place and would likely stay here again for future Glacier National Park excursions.

This is really Montana at its best with Big Sky's hospitality and a deep sense of hospitality. Our cowboy Jordan checked us in the only remaining executive suite, after my brother in law kindly offer that room to us. The room is super spacious and comfortable with the rustic charm of western comfort! Their Wi-Fi was not working properly and Jordan got it fixed in a minute. Their blanket service is fantastic with super clean and individual plastic cover. Overall this is by far the best "Best Western" I have had the chance to visit. A little bit outdated but everything is top notch! Happy Fourth of July to all Yelpers!

And, what a pleasant surprise that was! I was greeted by the General Manager, Suzanne, who was so very helpful and accommodating, even though she was swamped with so many locals just looking to shower and get warm. That included a wedding party that was booked somewhere else, that unfortunately had also lost power. Twenty-six needed rooms and Suzanne and her crew made the wedding party VERY happy! I can't say enough about every staff member, but special thanks to Shelia and Cindy for the yummy breakfast buffet! Make sure you leave a big tip, because the breakfast is free .
