Jory is horrible and management has no ethics. They treat their small business owners/vendors/musicians (no compete clauses in a rural area!) like dirt behind the scenes and have no compassion for Covid illness, or hardship. We are not rich by any means. I paid good money to them in advance to hold a spot for my daughter and I to sell our products for multiple events, but when faced with extreme hardship when COVID hit my family, Jori/management displayed completely no empathy when advised of our situation. They kept the money from our missed shows and even told us we were not welcome back because we had missed our prior prepaid shows! We had future paid shows coming up that they would not allow us to attend, nor reimburse us for. Boy, I guess that's the cost of trying to do business with Dancing Dragonfly Winery! FYI, this is the kind of business you are supporting if you visit DDW! Please think twice on that. Visited on a Sunday afternoon. Tasting room was fairly crowded. Service was average. Wines were okay, nothing exceptional. Prices were higher than most regional wineries we have visited but the quality was not higher. No option for doing a tasting without buying a glass (like I need another basic wine glass!). We ordered panini sandwiches. They were also average and basically thrown at us by the wait staff. We were not asked if we wanted a beverage or checked on at all once we got our food. I will not go back. There are much more enjoyable winery experiences in Wisconsin and Minnesota. read more

The nicest thing I can say is the building is nice. The tasting is $10 and the wines are not that great. The tasting room attendant that I had was not very knowledgeable about the wines. The was no further edification of the wine other then where some of the money from the purchase of the wines go ( specific charities). I would pay $6 got a bottle of their best wine, not worth the drive from the metro area. read more

I was part of a Bachelorette party group and was completely ignored for about 20 minutes before someone acknowledged us for our tasting. Service was sparse during the visit. Wine was pretty good, but probably won't be back any time soon. read more

We've been twice and love the experience...except both times our food orders weren't correct. Four of us the first visit and two orders were forgotten. Yesterday five of us and my order wasn't delivered. If you order food, be sure your orders are correct. Otherwise, we love this winery! read more

Very nice place, good wines! But Darla was the star! Super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. My only suggestion, as Im reading the other reviews, is to offer a second option for your tastings. My mom and I were on a day trip to St. Croix Falls yesterday and visited this wonderful winery. Our experience was so amazing, I just had to write a review and commend them for truly wonderful service and products. We did a wine tasting followed by lunch on the patio, and I am not exaggerating when I say that everything was perfect. Each wine we tasted was delicious and different, the food was great (and prices were very reasonable, too!), and the setting was gorgeous. But it was the service and attention we received that blew me away. Kate was very helpful, kind, funny, and extremely knowledgeable about their products. She made great recommendations but was never pushy and seemed genuinely interested in our tastes/preferences. I could go on and on, but all I will say is that despite a two hour drive, we will definitely be back!! read more

This is a fairly new winery so they are still working out some of the bumps. It is a beautiful setting (if you like that sort of thing) What I totally didn't agree with is that you do not need to be 21 to purchase a drink there. Nice winery. The staff were very pleasant. But what they charge for a tasting is crazy. $12 for 5 tastings is outrageous. I know it includes a "free" glass, but I don't need a glass. I just want to taste the wine. The more wines I can taste, the more likely I'm going to buy more wine....just a thought? read more

Awful service! We pulled in for a wine tasting after 2 other great experiences in the area (and on recommendations of a neighboring winery). We didn't realize they were having a comedy club that night and ended up spending an hour and a half trying to get our five 1 oz tastes. It was crazy busy and they were not staffed for it! We waited an hour for our pizza while they served all the guests heading into the show. It was so disappointing. They should not offer tastings during events because they cannot handle both. read more

Out at a vineyard with the lady for our anniversary. I ask behind the bar if we can walk inside the Vineyard and check out the grapes. She responds "absolutely! Just don't touch the vines." We walk in, 30 seconds later while peacefully looking at a white grape vine a woman comes out screaming her head off "HEEEEYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!" "YOU CANT BE HERE!!!!" in front of crowd on the nearby patio in a scolding tone.... Get it together guys! Not the greatest first impression! The way she was screaming, you would think we were ripping out the Vines violently and eating the grapes with grape juice dripping down our chins looking like a feeding scene in a vampire movie.... Visited on August 17. The facility is beautiful, and the artisan pizza was a wonderful plus. Ten dollar tasting was steep, (big deal---you get to keep the glass--I have shelf full of glasses). They don't even wash the glass for you, or wrap it up in paper. I had to request a bag. The servers need to be more knowledgeable about their wines. Not read word for word what is printed on the sheet that customers can look at. Also the price per bottle is on the high end. Did not make a purchase. Stopped by yesterday (9/27) to have a tasting and learn about their wine. Not a great experience. We were not told anything about the wines by two different wine servers. Even though we made inquiries and told them about how we enjoy other area wineries. Never told us about the wine club. Anything thing we learned was from hearing other customers talk about the club and upcoming events. Serious need for some basic customer service training from what we experienced would go along way to making this this beautiful place more enjoyable. Don't think the wines they were sampling were served at the correct temperatures at all which also degraded the experience which we noticed, other customers noticed and employee acknowledged. The cost of the tasting it self was another sour note, we never paid $10 for a tasting before that I can remember including all of MN/WI and Napa and Sonoma combined. Even with keeping the glass. We thought the idea of a tasting was to show a consumer how wonderful of a product the have that you can't help yourself not to buy a bottle or a case. Though the grounds are beautiful the attitude is not. Confused unhelpful staff could not decide whether my wine club order had been shipped or not though I had made it clear I would be there to pick it up. They couldn't decide whether I should get my whole $2.50 wine tasting discount or not. Staff interrupted me in mid sentence to get their soda wrung up for free. The manager told me it was probably the owner (so that makes it better?) The only food available is their overpriced not great pizza or more overpriced cheese. Don't bring any food with you however as they now consider themselves a restaurant and will humiliate you by handing you plastic wrap and telling you to put your food away immediately. Being treated like children even after we had spent over $70 on tastings, wine and cheese is not my idea of a good time. The co-owner wife sat across the tasting table with her friend never bothering to introduce herself or pay attention to the incompetence going on. I guess she didn't realize I knew who she was or that we were the only clients in her establishment on a beautiful weekend. A few others must have had similar negative experiences. This is Wisconsin after all, not California. People don't think rudeness is acceptable in business owners. The only hi-light was the manager who did her best to make things right. She is very good and should look for a different position as I don't think this place will last long unless a big attitude adjustment occurs. read more

Staff can be snobby, too much seating on patio... one big buffet of people elbow to elbow. The food is far too expensive for the lack of quality and quantity. Buy their wine at Walmart.. it's cheaper than buying it from the winery. If you like to spend too much and get too little... this place is for you. read more

This winery is very new (4 years) but after seeing what I saw and tasting what I did, its very well established. The wines that I tasted were the Sashay - a red wine but not as dry as I was expecting it was actually quite good even though normally I hate dry wines. I also tried the Billy's Minuet - white wine that was very dry; the Rumba - which was fantastic; and finally I had to try the Bolero - a wonderful wine that had brandy and everclear infused into it...seriously the best for last!! The service I got when I was there was amazing! Had the sweetest and very knowledgeable server ever. The price for the four of us with the tour I thought wasn't too bad considering what most wineries cost. Plus I got to keep my glass!! I love that! Who wouldn't want a souvenir like that from going to your first wine tasting? And when I go back its only $5 instead of $10 to sample 5 wines. Next time I'm trying the Tango with a piece of chocolate and then the rest in the Bolero!! I even loved the poker chip concept! Green is for the tour, red is for your glass, and black is for your drinks. Its so simple yet fun. The property is stunning, they were actually setting up for a wedding when I was there which was fun to watch. And when I got the tour it was fun and not boring because we got to hear from not only the tour guide but also the man who makes the wine! All in all a fabulous experience for my first time doing something like this. read more

Wow. It's like a Napa winery transported to the Twin Cities. Great wine (I like Can Can); great ambience. Unpretentious, yet there's a lot to brag about. Best cold climate wine I've tasted. $10 for 5 tastings plus a glass to keep. Well worth it. The roast beef panini was a great combination of tastes. read more

What a memorable day we spent at the Vineyard! Honestly I wasn't that much of a wine lover until I visited Dancing Dragonfly. From watching how he wine is made at the behind the scenes tour, to the tasting bar, to the fun events and activities I love this place! We had a blast at the grape stomp, I was channeling Lucy and Ethel as I emerged from the barrel with purple stained feet. Try the white called "Ballet" it has danced its way into my heart. read more

Dancing Dragonfly is a wonderful day trip destination! My husband and I have been to the winery for a tasting, the Grape Stomp, and a Cellar Master Dinner- clearly we enjoy the ambiance of the winery. We are wine club members and can't wait for our deliveries. We have been impressed with knowledge of the staff and we have appreciated the owners spending time with us at the grape stomp and dinner- we felt really welcomed and learned a lot about cold climate grapes and the process the winery uses to make this enjoyable wine. We already have plans to attend events this fall and are bringing our friends with! We would encourage all of you to consider this experience! read more

LOVE Dancing Dragonfly! It's classy, incredible and a great destination for a day or night out. The enlarged patio is my favorite. We were there a few times this summer with groups of friends and we all did the tasting at the bar and then grabbed our favorite bottles and sat outside with those fabulous paninis. We had plenty of room to laugh and talk without being inches from the next group. It was such a relaxing and beautiful setting. We're looking forward to heading back in the Fall! read more

We traveled to the winery with our parents on a Sunday afternoon. Beautiful drive from the Twin Cities. The winery is lovely! We sampled wines and had delicious wood fired pizzas on the patio. On this particular Sunday, they had great music. My parents travel a lot and they thought that the winery rivaled wineries in Napa. Wonderful day trip from the Twin Cities and we brought home wine to enjoy later! read more

I want to clear something up. This in regards to a post from Alice P. I was out on the patio when you went into the vineyard. The person wasn't running, she walked out to the vineyard to stop you from going in there. And, if she was yelling at you it was because you were so far down the row she had to yell at you to get your attention. I would also like to know who it was that told you to go in there in the first place. I knew all of the workers and there wasn't one of them that would have told you that. There are signs on every 4th pole telling people to keep out of the vineyard for your safety. There are reasons they don't want anyone in there. I don't think anyone head her yelling at you either. It didn't seem to interrupt anyone's conversation. You have to realize that when you post stuff on here, it is from your experience and not everyone else's. I really think you should come back and give it another try. read more
