Probably one of the best massage spots in Chicago! I went twice during my stay, and both experiences were absolutely amazing. I had a table massage with my clothes on, and the therapist walked on my back with perfect balance and pressure -- not too heavy, just exactly where it was needed. The overall experience was relaxing, professional, and very effective. I highly recommend Dancing Fingers, but definitely make an appointment since they can get pretty busy. The name is very suggestive but the service is great and totally worth the money. I always get the deep tissue massage for 60 mins with medium pressure. I am someone who has a high tolerance for pressure and even I need to take medium pressure only. The masseuses go out their way to ensure they massage every inch of your body, especially the problem areas. My masseuse even gets on the table to ensure she can reach the areas properly and massage correctly. They also do stretches at the end of the message to flush out the lactic acid. I received the best massage of my life yesterday. Absolutely incredible. I got a 2 hour session and every single moment of it was amazing. It really felt like they understood what was going on in my body. I re-booked for another appointment as soon as it was over. My only complaint is that it was kind of humid and stuffy, so I had a hard time breathing through most of it while facing down because my nose closed up. Definitely going to be using nasal spray before the next session. We stopped by Dancing Fingers a few months ago while we were in town and got massage service from their therapists. While Dancing Fingers has the same name as a location that we frequented in Taipei, I don't believe this was the same ownership. The quality of the massage was definitely on par with my expectations going into this location and I thought they did a decent job with the actual care. However, the overall experience that we had at Dancing Fingers left a lot to be desired. First off, it's located on the ground floor of an apartment building so that was odd, but understanding that real estate prices are probably not cheap in the city I can understand them setting up where ever they can. Second, while this was probably the hottest two days of the year up to that point in Chicago, there facilities seemed to lack proper air conditioning as both of us left their sweating, which made the massage less enjoyable than say just getting one in the mall and unfortunately for the cost of their service, that was unacceptable to me. Overall, on a normal day it's probably okay or even great, but on a hot summers day, it definitely took a lot off of the experience. read more

This was an interesting experience. My friend and I stumbled across this place looking for something to soothe our feet from lots of walking. We signed up for the reflexology, which was said to focus on the feet with a little massage of the shoulders. First, upon arrival, we were asked to lay down. They filled buckets of water and carried them over to our chairs so we could soak our feet. They were too hot, so they had to go get a bucket of cold water to even it out. The session started with your neck and arms. My friend was asked if she had any pain, and if there were any areas of her body that needed attention. The woman providing my reflexology had her earbuds in and didn't speak to me. Since we were the first appointments for the day, the AC wasn't in full swing yet so I was hot and not relaxed. The fact that I had my eyes open irritated my masseuse and she put a towel over my face. I was not a fan. She also placed a towel on top of my clothes to do the massage, which was a rough and awkward feeling. Overall, I was not a fan. This is a hard review to write because I am still shocked by what happened today. I booked for the first time at this place a 1h deep tissue massage for 3pm today because my back hurts. When I arrived they told me it would be a male massage therapist, which I didn't see any issue with it since I had many massages before and some of them had been with men. I am a massage regular as I have a lot of back issues. I have been getting massages for years, in many different locations and I have been massaged by men and women. But never have I ever experienced something like this that would make me so uncomfortable. When the massage started, I thought it was a bit awkward how heavy breathing was the man massaging me. And how he would just really stick the top of his legs against my head when massaging me. I tried to relax, thinking he was probably breathing hard because massages can be physically demanding and that maybe he didn't have a lot of space and had to do the massage that way with his legs against my head. Though I already didn't feel comfortable. For 30 mins, I kept feeling more and more uncomfortable, as he was mostly massaging my bottom and not my back (he probably worked my back for 5mins total and then 25 minutes on my butt, which felt really pointless for a deep tissue massage when you have back pain. And don't give me wrong, muscles on the butt are good to massage, but it just doesn't feel right when it becomes the full focus of a deep tissue massage and the way he was touching it...). I was already getting really stressed, but as he was massaging my bottom, his fingers kept sliding weirdly into my crack and I would move suddenly so he would stop. I should have stopped the massage way earlier than I did, but I kept thinking that maybe I was overthinking the situation and I just needed to relax. Because as women, we're often doubting our gut feelings as we don't wanna be perceived dramatic when something like this happens. Well, it kept happening more and more, his fingers would touch more and more in inappropriate places and I started to react stronger for him to stop. I finally had the courage to tell him to stop when he tried to massage my legs and literally kept touching my feminine parts as he was doing that. I yelled at him, told him I was so uncomfortable and that he shouldn't be putting his hands in intimate places like this that are not normal for a massage. He reacted weirdly, just opened the door saying "it's ok like this" (like with the door not close anymore, I was "safe") and tried to keep massaging me. And I said no, that I wanted someone else. The front desk person came and said they didn't have anyone else so I said I just needed to leave because I couldn't keep going with that person. I left the place in tears, feeling really uncomfortable in my body and ashamed that I didn't react earlier. I felt very violated and in the hundreds of massages I have done in my life, I have never felt that way. Something was definitely not right during that massage. It felt like an aggression. I ended up checking over reviews online trying to find comfort in someone maybe having experienced the same thing as me at that place, and I found this woman's review from a month ago, describing the same situation. I don't know if it was the same massage therapist, but there's a good chance that it was. And it looks like they did nothing about it. They let him keep working there. Be aware, I have a feeling it happened to many other women with that person, but that they were so embarrassed for their bodies like me that they just never left a review about their traumatizing experience. Alena welcomed me and asked me to strip down and lay on my stomach. I quickly stripped including my underwear and socks. She did a great job on my back, even walking on my legs and back. After massaging and kneading each area, she applied a hot towel to my backside. She did however, didn't work on my bare feet much. A little bit on my soles and toes, but that's it. This was my first time visiting this facility and the experience was so so. I called ahead to reserve a space and they shared they would have a space ready. However, while they knew I was coming when I arrived, I still waited a little over 10 minutes before they took me back. Then, when I got back to the massage table it was in a smaller community space very close to another table. It was also a tad unorganized and a tad awkward as there wasn't really much direction regarding where to place coats, etc.. You're really on your own to figure it out. The massage itself was alright while they were actually working however there was a lot of commotion with other things going on around the facility, a lot of talking and focusing on other things than just the service and was not conducive to truly relaxing. They really take their time and make sure I'm relaxed. The first time I went it was a couple days after I had a pretty intense workout so I was VERY sore. The Reflexology massage was exactly what I needed! I just went in today for my first ever Tui Na massage and let me tell you, it is absolutely worth the $75! I've been to dancing fingers many times and I keep coming back! It's nothing crazy fancy or over the top, but the perfect place to go when you need some relief on short notice. Most of the appointments I've made have been only a day or two in advance, if not on the same day. I often get random pains throughout my neck, shoulders and back, and I love that I can always count on Dancing Fingers to take me on short notice and work out the kinks and pains that always plague me. Based on the type of massage you receive, you will either be in the group room or the private room. If you're particular, just ask before making your appointment as some appointments are booked in a certain way based on whether or not you will need oil, wear clothes, etc. I love how friendly everyone is at Dancing Fingers, and they have a cool point system to get discounts the more you visit. I purchased a Groupon and called over a week in advance to schedule my appt. They called me 1 hour and 15 mins before my appt saying they could not accommodate me anymore. I didn't answer the phone when they initially called because I was otherwise occupied. They kept asking if my Groupon was expired or close to being expired. When I asked why that matter they then tried to pressure me to come in and "just let them redeem the Groupon". It all seemed very shady to me so I told them to just cancel my appt and I would reach out to Groupon for a refund. Twenty mins later someone calls me to tell me their policy is to call twice to confirm an appt. Calling 75 mins before, 2 mins apart, doesn't exactly feel like a great policy. Here's the thing. Like the full idiot I am, I had stepped on one of my hand-weights with full force, and my entire left foot was hurting. I booked an appointment with Ron, and he went to work. Reflexology isn't a frou-frou waterfalls-and-bliss kind of a massage. If you want that, go to a full service spa with ambient lighting and get a pedicure. It was relaxing at times, but it also hurt at certain points, but it was sweet, sweet pain. It hurts in a way that feels good because you know that your body is going to feel that much better after. Ron is incredibly experienced and could tell immediately that my foot was swollen and in bad shape. After my appointment, I kid you not, my foot felt about 60% better. And after that? This was the best Reflexology I have gotten in the city. It was thorough, relaxing, and altogether a good experience. The reflexology bed they put you in is very comfortable, and the room is private yet not too sketchy. I paid for the 60 minute message and I think that was a good idea. He went though my head, arms, shoulders, hands, feet, and back. It was very complete. My only complaint is the roughness. When he was doing my face I thought that it seemed a little rough, especially around my jaw and cheekbones. I woke up the day after and my cheeks were a little swollen and my jaw was sore. I ended up parking three blocks away (in front of Walter Payton). The massage was awesome. You'll be situated in a dark room with music surrounding you while you get your feet soaked and then the massage begins! It was pretty relaxing. I regretted wearing my regular jeans during the session because it was pretty uncomfortable getting my hips pressed with all those jean creases against me. At the end of the session, the masseuse provided a cup of tea. Something that left me thinking was how he laughed a little when I said "ow" when I got stretched a little too far. We got a Groupon for one hour reflexology massage and decided to give it a try. My first impression of the place was that I didn't like the smell. Other than that everything was OK. The place was small and simple. I was expecting a foot massage but it started with 15 minutes of head and shoulder massage. Lying flat with feet in the water bucket made my lower back really uncomfortable, at least the back massage at the end made up for it. So don't show up in jeans. My Therapist Leo was great, and I loved the foot massage. I couldn't see what he was doing but My BF's therapist used some wood stick to massage his feet that was a little scratchy for him but he still liked it. Overall I think for a $45 massage it's a great deal in the city even without a Groupon. I'd totally recommend it. I think making an appointment in advance would be a better idea since I overheard them in Chinese that they were booked for the rest of the day. What an amazing find! This is a REAL massage - not the poor excuse for a massage that you'll find at one of the big national "spa" chain stores. I first went to Amazing Fingers on the recommendation of a friend and I was a tad skeptical when I arrived as the waiting room is pretty bare bones: tiny with almost no decor but very clean. The staff was warm and polite. On to the best part: the massage was out of this world. I'd recommend Kathy, she applies the perfect amount of strength and sensitivity for the perfect pressure and her kneading and gliding techniques left me feeling unblocked and energized. And at the end, they use a warm, hot towel to wipe off the oil. Not knowing what to expect, I went with the one hour massage but I must say I'll up this to ninety minutes next time as it was an amazing massage and best of all a great value. $75 for 60 minutes for a great massage in the city is pretty tough to top. Walked-in for a 15 minute massage and was accommodated quickly. Brad at the front desk was very friendly, warm, and inviting. I asked for a $15 for 15 minute massage and was able to chose a table or chair massage. Once I arrived to the table, I requested Annie to focus on my traps/shoulders and she did a phenomenal job on applying increasing pressure and listening to my body's reactions, increasing pressure as necessary. After the massage, Brad introduced to me their loyalty program which only required a phone number. Quick and very relaxing.
