I'll keep it short; every variety of hot dog, and smoked sausages. The important part is they use beef dogs and not the 39 cent whatever-it-is meat. The setup is conservative and it serves its purpose, it's a dude, with a grill, cooking hot dogs. The prices are fair and most things, whatever way you swing them, will cost around $6-$7. I checked out Dang Good Dogs off of Miami Blvd. in Durham for lunch one a Friday after perusing online which food trucks were relatively close to me.(Dang Good Dogs is more of a food cart though). I ordered the 2 dog combo with chilli and cheese. Dang Good dogs are grilled to order and I thought they were pretty damn good! My only mild complaint is I wish they offered more drink and chip options. For their dogs though they are hard to beat. read more

These dogs and sausages truly are dang good. They grill the sausages on order. They give you free toppings of onions, slaw, sauerkraut, relish, bacon bits, jalapenos to name a few. Cheese and Chili for 50 cents. Friendly staff. read more

It was great to have Dang Good Dogs for an inaugural alumni event. In spite of a rainy weekend, they were flexible with relocating under a tent. I usually see the cart on Guess Rd across from the car wash at Grannies Panties. I've had several hot dogs from carts all around Durham and Dang Good Dogs is runnin' with the top dogs. read more

We hired this company for an outdoor event. Beforehand, we submitted a form advising them of the type of event we would be having and that there would be ZERO children at the event. The cook/owner arrived and ... 1. He quickly ran out of supplies and when asked about it, he replied rudely that he went according to the submitted form. This was obviously false, as the form clearly stated that there would be more than 100 ADULTS at the event and he ran out of food quickly. 2. He proceeded to tell customers that he was hired for a "kids party" (not factual AT ALL) and effectively tried to shift the blame off of himself and onto event organizers. Event organizers who have every email and form sent/submitted and confirmation in writing. 3. He left promptly at 6:30 pm even though he was supposed to stay until 7 pm. 4. He left without even saying goodbye or thank you to the event organizer. 5. He left a box of his garbage in front of the venue. Needless to say, we will not be using this company again nor will we be recommending them to any other organization. This could have become a lucrative, regular event for him. His lack of organization and his attitude could have caused a huge problem. Luckily, we were able to salvage the evening. read more

Their name says it all! Had my first DGD experience at Chatham Hill's Food Truck Rodeo and they were great. Friendly customer service and I regret not getting two dogs instead of just one. I was a little confused though - their website mentioned their hot dogs are "down to fry" and I had been wanting to try a fried dog after hearing about the ones offered at Rutt's Hut in NJ. The oppressive heat the day of the rodeo may have had something to do with it, but I didn't see any frying equipment and no mention was made on the menu posted on the cart. Nonetheless the grilled dogs were very good - maybe a little better if they'd been left on the grill longer (whenever I go to the Roast Grill, I make sure to tell them to nearly burn my dogs!) but probably the best hot dog cart going in the area. I have to say thank you for choosing a great Nathan's Famous as their baseline hot dog instead of the red Brightleaf dogs that seemed to have gained hold here in the Triangle - those things are awful. DGD has a great topping selection offering up the standards as well as items like jalapenos - they're also veg friendly, offering up veggie dogs for the non-carnivores out there. I'll keep a look out and will definitely try them again. read more

Tried a combo today and it was ok. It wasn't a "WOW" since it seemed alot like home, just kind of average. I was hoping for "WOW" but the staff was friendly and the combo price was just right for lunch. I would try them again for a cheap lunch. read more

We booked Dang Good Dogs to cater our wedding reception, and they were fantastic! As a DIY bride I had a lot of questions and they always answered them promptly. The day of the event they were on time, prepared, and handled everything without needing additional direction from me (greatly appreciated on my end).
