One of the best places my family and I have every visited! We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who gave us great insight into the company and how he got to be where he is today. Very wonderful person! We were just visiting, so we got a variety of pies. My favorites are the key lime and chocolate cream pie. Baltimore Bakery Crawl stop #4 of seven places! My best friend, her college bestie, her husband, and I spent Sunday 2/2 exploring different Baltimore bakeries. I tried one thing here, so this review is based on that! This was my favorite spot on the list solely for the story. I say this with absolute love, I felt like we were being served by pirates. The theme of this spot is sorta pirate themed (guessing there is some cute pun to be said about pie-rates). When we came in they were busy making pies in the back, so it took a bit to get served. They were really sweet about the pies available and excited to serve us on their plates when they learned we were dining in. We came for the Baltimore bomb pie. When we asked what kind of pie it was we were given every single ingredient in it and I loved that. The vinegar was the coolest ingredient to me and really made me enjoy this slice of pie. There was some crusty bits in the pie that I wasn't a fan of, but otherwise I mostly liked it. One of the members in our group said how much they liked the pie crust when normally they weren't a pie crust person. I'd come back to try more pies. read more

Rude owner. Frozen pies half the time. Overpriced and unclean facilities. Dogs run through the kitchen all the time and he let underage kids drink. Owner wrote a rude reply but I literally witnessed his at the time underaged child drinking behind the bar. And his two dogs often ran all throughout the place. The ordering process was easy because Mary emailed me throughout the while process. I ordered several pies, the cowboy,bacon onion gruyere, hot rod potato, spicy vegan Thai, crab and cheddar. These options were a hit with my coworkers, especially the crab and cheddar. What a great idea pie and cocktails in one cafe. The place is funky chic with paintings and hip local happenings posted. Yet, for a cafe seems a bit dirty. We ordered a pie online to take to a party. When I picked it up, I decided to have a slice while there of their apple pie. Taste was good, crust was flaky, apples cooked well but the pie was just a bit dry and bland. It wasn't the worst pie I've ever had but definitely not worth the $10. The service was so-so, the guy was more into talking to the guy sitting at the bar than helping customers. He was a little rude and ignored me but I guess this is his persona for a chic funky cafe. The pie I took home was chicken also a bit dry and very peppered. This is the HQ location where all the pie recipes are tested first. We got there around 8 on a Saturday night and I was lucky to get the last slice of the current new best seller the Death by Chocolate. It was decadent and definitely a once in a while only treat. My bf got the baltimore bomb which is the all time best seller. It's made with berger cookies. No frills, no fuss and quick service. I also got a beef mushroom gruyere slice to go which reheated in the oven at home the next day was a lovely lunch. read more

I've been wanting to try the Tuesday 'date night' deal for a while and I finally got the chance to stop in tonight. The ambiance is cute; there are some really neat pieces of art on the walls. The first thing that struck me when we walked in was the service and unfortunately, it wasn't good. There was one woman working there tonight with short, black hair. She greeted us with something along the lines of "The menu is behind you, order at the bar, and we're closing at 9PM tonight." Definitely not even close to a welcoming greeting and it was only 7:30PM when we walked in. We were waiting on another person to join us and immediately after she arrived and sat down, the woman working asked us if we were ready to order. I said no and AGAIN she said that they were closing at 9PM. It was literally only 7:45PM at this point. Three of us weren't going to take over an hour to eat 4 slices of pie! The pies were okay. We got the spinach & goat cheese quiche, the ratatouille, the coconut chess, and the bob & andy. Not bad, but not something that I want to go back for. Two funny side notes: #1: My friend was talking on the phone while we were waiting for our other friend to join us. My friend quickly mentioned that we were at Dangerously Delicious Pies for the Tuesday 'date night' deal and says on the phone, "Yeah, it's something like two sweet pies, two savory pies, and two drinks for $20." The woman working leans over the bar and immediately corrects my friend on the phone and says "It's $28!" and then rolls her eyes at her friend sitting at the bar. Thank you to this woman for giving us the correct price, but why are you listening in on her phone conversation? I get that it's easy to overhear things, but do you NEED to correct her while she's still on the phone? Her demeanor was just off-putting. #2: As we were eating, the woman who so eagerly corrected the price of the 'date night' deal and kept reminding us of the store's closing time, was making cocktails for herself and two staff members! The gentleman was sooo nice and friendly, he warmed the pie for me and drizzled some caramel on top since I was looking for their caramel apple crumb pie but they were out. I got some slices to go for my mom and fiance and they loved their pies (lemon chess, Baltimore bomb, and chocolate peanut butter chess) as well. He was very helpful since I had asked for lemon meringue but they didn't have any and he suggested lemon chess and my mom loved it! Definitely recommend! I am happy to say that this place exist! I stopped in on a Sunday off the whim looking for something sweet. Usually, I would frequent their other locations in DC and Canton, Baltimore .. but I recently found the DC location closed and the shop in Canton is not the true blue authentic one. I walked in with my husband and astonished they have a full blown bar along with late night hours they stay open until 1AM on the weekends. The slice of pie was $7 dollars with indoor and outdoor seating. Also, it's in a lovely area .. parking can just be a hassle at times. The only thing I would suggest is keeping the signature" Baltimore Bomb" pie in stock .. when I arrived on Sunday afternoon it was sold out .. which I guess for the Owner that's a good thing :-)... read more

What a treat! Dangerously Delicious as a name makes sense after having it a few times.... I could go for their pie daily! Thankfully I've got some restraint and enjoy this as a treat here and there. I've taken folks from out of town and we've all loved the savory and the sweet options. We've always been able to get plenty of seating and fast service when we've been there and have done take out to bring home and enjoy as well. Most pies are available by the slice or whole pie, so I've even won over a birthday party with the chocolate chess. Enjoy! read more

The evening I dropped by DDP on The Avenue, was the day after their soft open. The reason I stayed was brisket. Closed for several weeks, Dangerously Delicious Pies is now focusing on Texas-style pit, an ever-changing menu and still serving pie (their Canton sister still touts pie). After entering the gate past the OPEN sign, I got down to business by choosing the lean brisk (not the fatty, as I'm trying to keep my figure) with a mac & cheese side (others include coleslaw or potato salad) and was not disappointed. The meat is heated at 165° with apple and wood in a meat cooker, then above 200° in an oven--a total of 22 hours on low! My only issue is I'm used to brisket that falls apart (but try to find that style at the almost nonexistent Jewish delis in this town). Butlet'snotquibble. This is good stuff! They also have alcoholic drinks to chug. So Dangerously Delicious is open for business, and I'll definitely be coming back. Plus I'm told this weekend they're also instituting Snack Bar Sundays (can you say buffalo wings?). I may drop by for that first, as well. What's not to like? See you there on Sunday! read more

I'm not sure what happened to this brand but it has fallen so far from a few years ago. Warning to anyone curious about going here, don't do it. I used to drive an hour out of my way to have these fantastic pies from dangerously delicious in DC and I was excited to see one in Hampden neighborhood of Baltimore so I decided to give it a shot. I saw the other reviews online but I thought maybe it was just a few upset customers. Walked in and there were two parties seated. One had a dog at the bar and was waiting for their food, another table just paid their check and was about to leave. As I'm about to place my takeout order with the bartender, someone from the kitchen came out with a slice of pie and handed it to the bartender. Bartended then stopped taking my order and said to me, wow I can't remember who ordered this and he was completely serious. The person from the kitchen had hands that wouldn't stop shaking and the bartender looked high out his mind. Really?! Two tables and one was about to leave. I wonder who ordered the food... anyways I asked which pies were vegan, and he said he wasn't sure but the menu was on the wall. I remember the fruit pies in DC used to be vegan and he wasn't sure if that was still true. I changed to a savory pie, the Thai chilli, and paid and left with our pie. Got home and warmed up the pie, and it was gross. Too much going on with this pie. Green beans, mushrooms and spicy chilli sauce drowning it all. Straight to the trash. OK dont shoot the messenger, I know this place has a cult following but this is just OK to me. I havent had a pie that blew my mind. Maybe I need to get a pie warmed up and eat it immediately because when I get home everything I have tried is just fine. Which is totally fine. And this is coming from both locations. Ive tried savory and sweet and everything was a OK not complaints but nothing to write home about either. Baltimore Bomb is my fave and true classic (crushed up Berger cookies in the pie), but this location has been out the 2 times I've been in. Mehhhh. Wow I can't believe how expensive things have gotten... $7 or $8 for a slice of pie, and don't forget to tip. As much as I love supporting small businesses, this place is a bit too pricey for me. That said, the apple pie was great. Their ratatouille pie was also delicious, and they also have coffee and alcohol so a nice selection. Cool vibe and atmosphere. Small seating areas outside but only like 6 tables so I imagine it fills up quickly on nice days. Took about 15 or 20 mins to get the slices because they warm them in the oven.
