Dr. Harvey was the best doctor I had ever had in life!!!!! He was always patient, kind, friendly, efficient and thorough. The office staff back in the day, Shantel and Antonette were the friendliest, funniest, calm, cool and professional nurses i had ever met. I will never forget taking my foster baby there, and they were so sweet and patient, for him to get his immunization shots, etc. I miss the entire staff. I left, because later on in the years, (after ObamaCare) took place, his office became more like a welfare medical clinic!!! There were all type of patients and a bunch of kids and chaos in the waiting room. The wait became so long. If i had an appointment at 9am, i was lucky to see him at 10:25 a.m.!!!!! I remember his first office across the street from the Carson Mall. I will never forget, how i was just looking for a local doctor at the time, i called him during my lunch break and told him my throat was sore and i couldnt swallow. He told me to come in right away. I waited a few moments, I was having a very very very bad tonsilitis and he gave me a shot to make the pain go away. The first shot didnt work, he gave me a different shot and the pain eased up. He made sure I was pain free before i left that doctors office. I've gone to this doctor twice now -First time I went I had to wait about an hour in 45 mins to see the doctor. I assumed that was because I was a new patient and between filling out paperwork and getting everything straight with my insurance I figure that was normal to happen so it was no problem. When I finally met with doctor Harvey he was really nice and knew what he was talking about and doing. - Second time the wait was even longer about two hours. Some people were getting very agitated and frustrated because of these long wait time. It was bad I just don't understand why they book too many people on the same day it's unfair that they have to wait so long to see a doctor. I was so, so pleased with Dr. Harvey and his staff. I was so worried he was going to be terrible since my boyfriend is on a diff insurance. When I contacted his staff to find out about the insurance, she was most helpful and so pleasant. I knew she was professional and she worked it to where my boyfriend didn't have to wait the 2 weeks, being a new patient. She was AWESOME. Dr. Harvey is GREAT. Very informative and knowledgeable. I have been going to Dr Harvey for about 30 years. He has seen my 3 children when they were young and also my husband. We love love love Dr. Harvey. He takes his time with you. Explains everything to you and his diagnosis has always been correct. Lately he's gotten a lot more patients do the wait has become longer. After all he is the only Dr. there. If you are making an appt ask if you're being double booked. If the answer is yes then it's you to you if you want to wait or make another appt for another day. If you decide to go with the double booking then be prepare to have to wait. I've been double booked a few times sometimes it goes fast. Depends on what the issue is with the patients. I've been to emergency where I've had to wait 6 hrs or more several times. So having to wait an hour or or a little over (never waited 2 hrs) is fine with me. Anyway Dr. Harvey is a great caring Dr and I can't see myself going anywhere else. read more

My husband just came back from Dr. Harvey's office and boy, is he pissed! He waited 1 hour and 45 minutes before he was taken into a room. While he was getting his EKG, he asked the tech why the Dr. Doesn't hire a nurse practitioner to help him out. The tech said, we wonder the same thing! Dr. Daniel Harvey, a true testament of what the world should have more of. Dr. Daniel Harvey is probably by far the most exceptional Doctor I have ever encountered. I have spent 20 years in the US Air Force, I have been in Aviation and Aerospace for over 35 years. I have been to 38 countries and have been treated by literally hundreds of medical facilities and Dr.'s in my life. I see reviews complaining about the office staff, the way they were treated, the cleanliness of the facility, but none of the negative comments are ever pointed or reviewed towards Dr. Harvey, but they still stick because some individuals don't understand that where the subject is a "review of Dr. Harvey", it means just that. Please remember, Dr. Harvey has to deal with the same issues that the public does and as the Dr. the choice isn't really always his as far as his staff that is assigned or the building that he works from. Every year, Dr. Harvey spends his time away from Carson in a tent in some tiny village in another country, donating his knowledge and resources to give someone a new smile. While you are in the office, strange and bizarre things happen. Dr. Harvey may slip in, spend time at the lap top taking notes and making small talk with you. He listens intently and often get tracked on a trip he was on or an event that he is involved in. If he turns his back on you, simply keep talking as if nothing has changed, believe me, the good doctor. is listening, and paying very close attention to what you say or how your body sounds through the stethoscope. When your appointment time is complete, please do not be surprised if you are not aware that it is over or that your analysis is complete, simply wait to be called by the nurse and you will be checked out. I wanted to give him a one star review and say he's terrible not because he IS but because he is one of the best doctors not only have I had on Medi-Cal but ever in my life and the bad rating would only be because you have to book an appt. almost a month ahead (and I didn't want him to get more patients) as he must have a lot of patients (as said in other reviews due to the wait time) BUT they must read the reviews because when I went there was NO wait time, in fact I didn't have time to finish my intake papers. He is such a good doctor that when I get Medicare I want to continue with him (I was thinking of moving out of state and might even stay here just because of him) that's how highly I think of him! To address other complaints, office is clean, no smell, to avoid people waiting a long time they have a sign saying they don't give certain lab tests and the staff is uniformly friendly and his speech does NOT show he is unsure but he IS very soft spoken, He is a competent, caring physician and I have an example to relate to you. I went to another doctor, Dr. Aiyegbusi, and she noticed that I had a lot of ear wax and I related to her some of the numerous ways I hado to clear out my ears. She just gave me a paper telling me to do what which I pretty much already knew with the ear drops and bulb syringe and it didn't work probably because some of the wax had been impacted for years, the only wax that was coming out after 16 min or so of flushing was the newer wax. I even tried an ear vac I got at Frys (guess you need to have another person do it to see the wax) and a Clinere ear cleaner to no avail. I told this all to the Dr. and he immediately starting irrigating my ear (there was not a lot of people in the waiting room) and lo behold, hallelujah, praise the Lord, I could hear, I mean REALLY hear, unfortunately the loud ticketing of my clock and the fridge and fan running! Everything is too loud!! He got the deeply embedded wax that couldn't be removed by me. The first doctor gave the minimum she was required by standard medical care, this doctor went beyond. Most of the doctors you get on Medi-Cal are foreign trained (which could be all right but prefer a doctor from this country who also may be easier to understand) or crowded clinics or near the end of their career (I am sure Medi-CaL doesn't reimburse that well) I think the overall treatment by this doctor shows that unlike the others who may not get patients other ways, he takes Medi-Cal BECAUSE he feels that even the indigent, should get quality medical care and we are lucky he does`. He IS older though probably late fifties and I just hope that he practices well into his eighties. His caring shows to the extent that he went out and turned on the TV because his staff didn't (I thought they didn't have magazines-shoot-but they are in a basket in the room) and he had a thermostat installed in the waiting room so patients could control it! read more

This office and dr. Only gets one star because there is no option to give it a big fat 0! I've been coming here for almost a year and not once have I been seen at my appointment time! Ive always had to wait over a hour to be seen and I have an appointment. Not only do I wait for a long time none of the assistants are friendly, NONE!!!!! now for dr. Harvey himself from day one he never acknowledges your presence no hello how are you? Spends seconds with you and prescribes you pills, he is so impersonal not frequently whatsoever. I had told my story about him to a friend and when I mentioned his name my friend said that that's his dr also and he said the only reason why he keeps him is because he can tell dr Harvey what kind of mess he needs and dr Harvey will give him a prescription. Ive noticed this with certain places. Some people seem to get good deals, others not. Maybe thats just how it works, some people work well with others. Ill start here.. i have very basic medical coverge and so dr harvey was the closest doctor to where i lived. Wasnt expecting much. When i came in there were alot of people. It seemed like one of those situations where you have to wait and wait, where everybody is scheduled to come in at the same time. Everybody seemed annoyed and i understood, it sucks being poor and having very inequal insurance. I almost left. Needed a referal to see a specialist, as i have a herniated intestine. I also got the sense like the staff didnt trust the patients, as if people come in for some other reason. When i met dr harvey, he seemed really cool. It ended up being a pain to get my referal, due to commmunication in the logistics dept, but it eventually came through. Well, my intestine problem came back, goin back through the process. I think the problem with the waits has to do with all these other greedy doctors who wont take certain types of insurance. It really is based on discrimination. Another tactic the wealthy use to keep people down. Second time was much better. Barely a wait to see him. Dr harvey is a very nice guy, and from what i can tell is a stand up good person who is working for less money than alot of greedy doctors who are behind alot of finance and economic problems in this country. That impresses me. Need more doctors like him. Second time was also much faster, recomendation was faster, again this place is what it is, but so far, for being poor and in need, and in los angeles, one of the shaddiest cities in the country, theyve come through here where alot of doctors are not. read more

The three other reviews here have to be fake because this is the lousiest doctors office I have ever had to deal with. Dr. Harvey himself is fine, but the office is the worst. I've been here with my kids at least five times and you can count on a 2-3 hour wait. And God forbid if you need a camp form, physical form or something else. They will NEVER call you back. And then when you come in person to camp out in their office until they finally, finally, finally give it to you, they will treat YOU like crap, like you're causing them some sort of hassle. I have had to change my primary doctor several times because I have had very bad experiences with a lot of doctors.. probably because of the insurance I have. I figured out that I just needed to ask my insurance for what doctors that I can see and do my research myself. I decided to see dr Harvey and I had a very good pleasant experience finally! He was the first good doctor I have seen with this medi-cal ins I have that has been very nice and knowledgeable. I do agree with everyone on the wait time to see him it takes kind of a while but it's worth the wait honestly. But yes I would recommend dr. My mother has been seeing Dr. Harvey for a long time and she is very satisfied with his services. My mother recommended Dr. Harvey to be my primary care physician in which i did and since then, I never had any problems or whatsoever with his practice as a professional doctor. To me, Dr. Harvey is a cool professional man and if you do not tell him honestly why are you seeking medical help, then don't bother going to his office! When you are scheduled to see him, don't be there to the exact time that you were given! Be there early at least an hour before your time and that's what i do! Sitting for long and waiting to be called is frustrating but when you get there early like i said, you will be called ahead before your scheduled time. You have to understand also that you are not the only patient there waiting to see him. Even to other places you also have to wait!
