I've been to many chiropractors in my life and Dr. Glimpse is the absolute best. He takes the time every appointment and goes above and beyond to address your needs. Unlike most chiropractors I've been to, he doesn't just adjust you and send you on your way so he can rush to the next patient. He values each individual and really takes the time to ensure they feel better before walking out the door. I really appreciated that he did myofascial release technique on me, and then sent me home with pages of effective exercises. It made all the difference! I have seen multiple chiropractors in my life and in SLO and had decided that it is not helpful. Dr Glimpse is different. My first appointment he listened to my heart and lungs. I began with Dan earlier this year, in April 2013. I had a really bad fall in Octoboer of 2009 where I really injured my neck and back. Because I'm a more than a little stubborn, I didn't seek help until my neck was in big pain. Dan took a look at my situation, and made a plan to help me towards long term health and well being. Fast forward 6 months, I fell better than I have in years. The pain in my neck (C1-C6 Vertebrae, now that Dan taught me) is 90% improved. By far the best chiro I've ever been too. Doesn't just adjust you, he warms you up, stretches you, massages, then gives you stretches and exercises for you to do at home. I had a major low back issue, and glimpse told me if he couldn't fix me in 3-4 visits he wouldn't be able to help me. The experience was outstanding. I called in the morning and explained that I was missing work because of back pain (I am a landscaper)... Daniel said he could make it work to see me that evening as last patient of the day, which was amazing! He really took the time to look at my whole history of using my body. I started seeing Dr. Glimpse at the end of last year. I've had a chiropractor for 15 years and thought it was time for a change. I like his style, patience, and that your get a about 20 minutes with him each visit. An additional treatment he offers is a technique called, Graston: it's breaks down adhesion, scar tissue and helps with soft tissue mobilization. Dr. Glimpse came to San Luis Obispo earlier this year when he took over Dr. Deborah Sampley's chiropractic practice. (I was a patient of Dr. Sampley's and just continued on with Dr. Glimpse.) Dr. Glimpse graduated from the Bay Area's premier chiropractic college, Palmer, in 2008. He seems to be up on the latest techniques. An athlete himself, Dr. Glimpse displays a very good understanding of muscular as well as skeletal topics and is very generous with his time. Several months ago I managed to injure myself. Dr. Glimpse made a special effort to locate the problem areas and also assigned some exercises which proved very helpful. When I was improved, he judiciously cut back on recommended visits, an economy measure you often do not find in chiropractic practices. I started seeing Dr. Dan in winter 2016 after moving to SLO. Prior to my move, I had been experiencing neck and shoulder pain, probably lasting over a year, starting around the same time I began training as a student intern at a mental health hospital (the clientele, group therapy dynamics, charting and sitting at computers, were all contributing factors to my neck/shoulder discomfort). Up until seeing Dan the only therapy I received was massage therapy, which helped, but not longterm. Dan gave me relief from my pain in no more than 5 sessions. He gave me tons of information about proper posture, and exercises that truly work. He is honest and so helpful. Dr. Glimpse is a talented, honest chiropractor. I saw him on a regular basis for over two years, during which time he treated me for a slew of lumbar spine issues, including facet joint tropism, and routine pelvic tortion. He got me from a place of not being able to walk without pain to being just as active as I was before I started having issues. I also tore the cartilage in my shoulder having been thrown by a horse, and Dr. Glimpse got me back to 100% pain-free functioning! He is always happy to answer questions and genuinely cares about his patients. He gave me lots of physical therapy exercises to strengthen my back and shoulder, and always carefully explained and demonstrated them. He also does graston work, which I've found helpful for releasing tension in my neck and shoulders. Unlike many other chiropracters, Dr. Glimpse always takes the full 15-30 minutes to work with his patients, and has frequently done additional little adjustments because he had the time. His rates are more than fair, he accepts insurance, and his front office staff is always welcoming, warm, and great with scheduling! Don't be deterred by the lack of a fancy website or big building.
