I pushed the thought aside and finished the appointment, because after all, he had all my very personal tax documents in his possession. My concerns came in another form later after reviewing the tax return and noting in a very neutral way that he had missed including the educational credits (all the backup and a written note had been provided to him to do so). The omission was prior to submitting the return so he was able to make the correction, but he ghosted me the following year. That year he began sending out a mass email form letter to his clients indicating new business policies. However, he did not return my calls or emails so I could make an appt for the yearly tax appointment. I had to scramble to find a new accountant due to his lack of communication. Not professional. Ironically, It was later that year or within several months that he was selected for honor as a Tustin businessman of the year. It was circa 2023 or 2024. So surprised to see the high Yelp ratings. Here I am! Everyone happy?) 7) Then I told them I had a new accountant, and they sent me an offboarding checklist that literally includes the line: "Future Support: Take Note of Whom to Contact If Assistance is Needed: [CRS Accountant Name] [Insert Email Address Here]." In other words, I have no idea to to contact or how to reach them. ...This is completely in line with the communication I received throughout my time there, and a perfect capstone to my experience. I think they are probably competent at being accountants, but they fall short as genuine, communicative, actual human beings. Unfortunately. I am much happier with my new accountant.
