I prefer to find what I want on their website and walk…read moreinto the store knowing what I want; the layout of the store is not the most logical, with American wines scattered all over instead of concentrated in one spot, but their website is very easy to use. The staff is friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the inventory on their website is not quite accurate (one of the bottles I wanted turned out to be out of stock), but the staff helped me find a replacement. Prices are reasonable, on average a little higher than Buy-Rite but if you're savvy you can find bottles that are even cheaper than Buy-Rite or are just rare and difficult to find at other local wine shops.

No...now I'm not fully convinced the people working there even know they offer delivery at this point. Three times now I've placed an order, waited an hour AFTER getting an order confirmation but no delivery only to call this place and have the people that pick up sound confused that they even have a phone not to mention people are waiting for a service. Each time they waited until I called THEM to tell me they're out of half of the things I ordered. This time I just cancelled - got no apology for their incompetence, no asking if I'd like to replace anything, they just hung up. Don't waste your time with this place. Your money's better spent literally anywhere else.

I usually have hard liquor so I'm easy, they have so much better pricing! I've been to Sparrow and they have a bit of an attitude! Plus this place has more of an open layout feel. The staff now is really helpful, I've seen them help other people - but I like to roam around and try different things and go with my gut, while playing loud music - so I look for things I've read online, etc. The only thing I wish they had is better priced Malbec from the Mendoza region. I tried the one from Chile, which was $12 and was hooked on it for a month but then wanted a Mendoza just to validate why I love it, but I think the cheapest they have is $18, so I bought it. And I can never go back to the Chile one, what was I thinking! Suffice it to say, would love a Mendoza Malbec for $13 or so. Their wine selection is vast and easy to navigate, while the alcohol options are more limited but include some unusual bottles. Lastly, they have a decent amount of beers, though their bottles are more interesting than their can options. I do love that they allow customers to build their own six-pack from loose bottles/cans, so you can avoid committing to a new brew in bulk. The store is worth at least a browse.

Over the years, we were consistently advised by staff to buy a little extra for events, just in case we ran short -- with the understanding that any unused, unopened, and non-perishable items could be returned the next day for store credit. We appreciated that flexibility and planned accordingly. But today was a different experience. When we tried to return a few items, we were told about a restocking policy we had never heard of before. On top of that, the staff didn't seem to know the details and had to contact the accountant instead of speaking with a manager. There was even some question about whether the items were returnable at all, which caught us off guard given the history. We had our receipt and the alcohol was delivered by your staff last night!!! After 6 years of loyalty and following the advice of your team, we left feeling dismissed, confused and disappointed. What had been a dependable relationship ended with poor communication and a lack of clarity. You've lost a long-time customer.

When my pilot light went out and I was looking for a grill lighter or fireplace matches, they didn't have them in stock but advised me that Caporrino's on Adams St might have them (they did!). They even gave me a bottle of wine for Christmas last year. I had to take off one star because the chip selection is sometimes a little bit lacking and I'm not totally sure how they can call themselves a deli, but otherwise I'm proud to call Ottomanelli's my go-to bodega.
