The staff is kind and friendly. Dr King is very knowledgeable . I highly recommend them and like the homey feel of the office.

Well this experience sucked. I walked out, for the first time in my life. Very similar to other reviews. The staff was off. The dr was very rude. He came in the room mumbling about if I am in a hurry this is not the place for me. All together I waited 1 hr and 15 min. There it's better service out there. read more

This Doctor was extremely RUDE to my 96 yr old mother who used to be his patient, left the area for 6 years, and was just re-establishing a patient relationship with him. I believe he actually had a meltdown in front of us! His staff did not help after he treated us so badly either. NO ONE said anything, just sat there in disbelief. I still don't know what happened. I feel this doctor might be stretched too thin these days and you might not have the experience you want with him. Definitely not worth the time nor the effort. My sister has been a patient of Doctor King's for several years. (She has lupus and her eyes are severely affected. She frequently requires both emergency appointments and surgeries.) Doctor King has gone above and beyond in trying to help my sister, whose eye issues are both rare and complex. He obviously cares about doing the best job he can for his patients and is clearly well informed and knowledgeable. He is extremely dedicated, and has even come in on weekends, after hours, and on holidays to see my sister for countless emergency appointments. I am deeply grateful that my sister has such an incredible doctor to depend on! read more

This review is going to appear as a total about-face from my previous opinion of this practice! I have now been to Dr King 4 or 5 times and each time has been worse than the visit before. A simple, routine eye exam you might expect to take 45 minutes tops will take up to 3 hours. You read that right THREE HOURS!! Why, you ask? Because the office overbooks the appointments so badly that patients are being shuffled from room to room before ending up in folding chairs in a back hallway! You get stacked in there like cords of wood just praying for your turn. If you say something about the time you have been waiting, you get the ol' standby excuse "The doctor had an emergency" Seriously? An EYE doctor had an EMERGENCY come into the office? While I am willing to admit that is a remote possibility, keep in mind I heard this EVERY SINGLE TIME I CAME IN. That's 5 eye emergencies and all just when I happen to be there. Not bloody likely. On my last appointment (in at 8 AM out just shy of 11:00) I did not stop to make a return appointment at the front desk so they called me later to schedule and I told them I purposely did not make a return appointment because they have so little respect from their patients' time. Enough is enough! We don't have to accept such shoddy treatment from our healthcare providers! We are human beings with lives and schedules of our own and we deserve respect! read more

I just read a 1 star negative review on Yellowpages and it mirrored my experience with Dr King and staff today (08/01/13). Yet it was written in 2007. I was sent to this Dr by a local clinic after getting some dirt or such in one eye. I had to walk out, or run out of this business. Dr King alternated between rude and bizarre. He definitely is on a crusade against contact lens and even more so vehemently opposed to the day and night long term wear lens I use. I don't have a problem with his view point just his tactics to vindicate his view. Even some of his questions were so strange I actually began to wonder if he has all his mental capacities or if he was more interested in my insurance, regardless, for the first time in my life I walked out on a Dr after advising him I would make other arrangements such as a second opinion. He stated that if I "bailed" on him he would not give me the prescription for the mild antibiotic he said I would need at the outset of the exam. He also literally chased me down on my way out while threatening me. I also agree with the other negative review that even the staff seemed tense and somewhat strange and cold in their approach. I got the sense perhaps they may be less than satisfied with the employment. I am guessing of course. Regardless, it was a rather scary experience all told and I am thankful I summonsed the courage to get up and walk out. I have never even heard of Dr King before today so I have no reason whatever to give this review other than to hope it may save someone else some grief. read more
