The only thing that I really have to say about this place is that it is a fairly new facility and appears to be generally clean. The other thing is that its convenient that they are open on some holidays and on weekends and late. I have come here maybe 3-4 times for urgent care when I was sick. The providers have always been nice. The girls who work at the front desk need some training on their customer service skills. I can't stand with someone greets you with, "Do you have an appointment?" or "Last name?" So irritating!! A greeting like, "Good morning. How are you today? Can I help you get checked in?". I typically experience wait times of 2-3 hours. But just recently I got in with in 30 min... but then had to wait in the treatment room for about 45 min. I feel like the staff here just pump patients through like cattle and never take the time to get to know them. read more

Type of care. I had a bad accident in the 90's. I have been on hydrocodone since the 90's. I called in to change my appointment because I was sick. Then I tried to work, (my work saw how much pain I was in)but it was too much on me. I asked my doctor Ashton to give me more pain medicine. Because originally I had a doctor Abby but she left. The they gave a new doctor and the first day I meet her. She cut my medicine. I have fibromyalgia really bad, along with neck and back problems. So I asked for new doctor, which is Ashton. Because I had 2 missed appointments she dropped me to 1 pill a day for 10 days. I have been taking this so long they say it takes months before they can dropped you cold turkey. I am consider permanently disabled. But I thought I would try to work. So any way I was reading online that it is very dangerous for me to stopped cold turkey. read more

Absolutely awful facility, awful nurses and doctors and awful execution when it comes to handling medicine. I have been here about 4 times out of emergency and convenience. The doctors and nurses here have no regard for LGBT patients, they all act very stand offish and rude. They treat you like a test subject and act as if you are inconveniencing them. Steer clear from here if you identify with the "T" in LGBT. They will have you waiting for months on end just to see a Primary Care Provider, they will assign ignorant and conservative male nurses to over look your issues and they will humiliate you in your face. They purposely call you at 4:45 PM that way if you miss it, they won't reach out until the next business day. Stay away from Lacy Hook, she is a "Nurse Jackie" type. Fake nice and rushes you through every visit, talks at 1,000 mph and gets sassy when you ask her "too many" questions. Also stay away from the 5'5" beef cake there named John. Nurses act like they are being held at gunpoint and act very cold towards you, almost like they are disgusted. I don't care about people's political views, nor do I force them to agree with me, but if you're going to be working in the medical field, have some decency and be a good human. Why join the medical field if you're going to treat every patient differently based on their gender expression and sexual orientation? Every time I've been here I have been herded like a sheep and discarded like my needs don't matter. The nurses and doctors have whispered about me in front of me and I have happened to walk in on them gossiping about me after taking a urine test. They are beyond unprofessional here. Customer service for family health is horrible. The front desk assistant that answered the phone was so condescending and rude. I specifically got a new insurance card in the mail that states my PCP/health facility is Lassen Medical Clinic. I call to set a new patient appointment and am asked for my ID number, which I provided. The woman then states they are no longer taking new patients and I respond that I don't know where to schedule if my insurance is listed as them.. she then says hold on and places me on hold to come back to the phone and then state "We are no longer accepting new patients and your not in our system". I explain I just moved and was given this clinic by my insurance and it is on my insurance card so I'm not sure where else to go. She then proceeds to go on about "Well all I know is this is our policy and you're not in the system" having a condescending tone and giggling. As a nurse myself, I know how medical facilities run. They could have asked me to email a copy of my insurance card or they could have placed me on hold and called to confirm instead of "shooing" me away. First you say you can't take new patients then you say I'm not in the system.. be transparent. I even called my insurance to confirm and I AM able to be seen there. All of my children have lassen medical clinic as well and they showed up in the pediatric system so I find it funny I personally didn't show up. Overall, horrible customer service and lack of patient advocacy. Glad I'm not going to be a patient any longer and switched. read more

I'm here for the first time today just to get a quick Drs note for work. I was waiting for about 2 hours and was the only person in the waiting room the entire time. I just came back to the room where I've been waiting for another 30 min so far... This building seems fairly new and looks tidy, but as I'm sitting here in the room analyzing things... I see blood stains on the pillow... Clearly from the barrier on the table not being changed... Disgusting. Thankfully I wasn't here for any type of physical exam. I am disgusted with the "medical appointment" my mother attended today with Dr. Katherine Lee. She has disgusting bedside manner. She treated my mother as if she were lying about being scared of doctors resulting in a higher blood pressure reading. Dr. Katherine Lee directly told her in a smug attitude "I do not believe in that white coat syndrome." Then she goes on to bash my mothers medical concerns and her last doctors integrity with her holier-than-thou attitude. She even had the audacity to belittle our people and county's name by complaining how "(she) can not understand how people in this town think." If she is so disgusted in our town then go somewhere else! After the appointment my mother sat in her car crying while my father tried to calm her. This is the WORST place to visit..again...we do not get free medial insurance we PAY to be seen here..that means we ONLY go when we really are actually SICK..SOOOOO many bad experiences here, how is this place still operating. Will explain last 2 visits and won't EVER come back..came here with excruciating inner ear pain..and the bone behind my ear was very painful and throbbing, you don't need medical experience to know I had a ear infection..lady looked in my ear and said "nope looks good" I was literally in the worst pain of my life, "I don't see anything wrong in there" keep in mind I had to PAY for that visit, the next day when I could stand it no longer I had to visit the E.R. A REAL doctor looked in my ear and said your ear is very infected and I see alot of scar tissue..He also said my eardrum bends back at a odd angle, it was in such bad shape the highest 7 day course of antibiotics was needed and even this took longer than 7 days to get pain relief. Ok now on to today 1/22/20..daughter goes into "urgent care" gets cut in line by a older woman verbally abusing her husband in front of everyone, she gets seen, and I tell her to not forget to tell the person seeing you to look good in your ear drum as they are not capable of understanding different ear drums, the woman looks in her ear for 1 second and says "ya it looks like you have some bubbles and fluid" and you should probably try blowing your nose"!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would give this clinic a zero if I could. Brought my 6 year old in and he was having an earache. The doctor was so rough with him, he made him bleed and ended up not giving him anything for pain. The staff was not friendly and made it seem as if it was an inconvenience to get him seen. I would not recommend this place at all. read more

This is a poorly run facility but is, unfortunately pretty much the only game in town. If possible, I believe Lassen Medical has gotten worse since being taken over by Dignity Health. Next to impossible to get appointments and no doctors accepting new patients. If you are one of the fortunate few who are actually assigned to a physician, prepare for fast-food type visits, as every doctor is over scheduled. I believe there are some good physicians, however the administration hampers their ability to have much of a traditional "doctor/patient relationship with their patients.When trying to get an appointment you are often directed to the "urgent care" facility, which is in same building, uses same doctors, has excessive wait times, and has almost the same hours as the regular clinic - there's definitely nothing "urgent" about it, and after hours care is non-existent. If you do get to see your primary care physician, you are told up front that you will be seen for "only one thing" per visit - heaven forbid anything else comes up in the month or so that you have to wait for the appointment. They have a patient portal so they clearly recognize the need for tech connectivity, but can't figure out a way to take pos payments for copays or how to take the digital insurance card being issued by Blue Cross instead of physical cards. And they are constantly having you fill out paperwork that is basically the exact information they just had you verify when you checked in (address, dob, insurance, etc). It is the most backwards, absurdly inefficient doctors office I have ever been to. read more

Seems every time we go in there they are backlogged for hours. Why is it we can drive 40 minutes to Hilltop Medical Clinic in Redding and still get in faster, reliably any day of the week? Today at 3pm we were turned away as they said "Oh, sorry we're closed" at the door when their hours state 5pm. I asked why they were closed at 3pm and they said "we are at capacity". So basically the doctor wants to go home on time so people of Red Bluff are out of luck? Poor business practice. They need to do something to handle the demand as their service is poor and slow. This review used to generously have 2 stars. Now it is a one when it should be zero or negative. I signed up in early 2015 and spent months attempting to simply get through to them on the phone. At that time my medical situation was so severe that I was often bedridden. My situation requires a higher than normal dose of testosterone- something most medical professionals misunderstand and are afraid of. Despite my low T- I would otherwise be in fantastic health- and I am a licensed personal trainer who has been able to help many people. Many of the conventional fears for testosterone such as heart attacks and strokes likely do not apply in my case- yet they resisted testing for them until my last appointment- because it would remove some of their excuses. I had largely been on T(and one support med) since Fall of 2015- but the illness of my GP, the constant mistakes, multiple lies, constant inability to make phone calls, faxes piled up and approximately 50% of the time I simply COULD NOT GET MY MEDS!!! I should also mention that I now teach tech and I refuse to use their web portal as in my professional opinion it is not trustworthy. My primary doctor increasingly began to scramble facts, show up for work in what appeared not to be working condition and cut my meds- despite shaky evidence for doing so. At this point I complained and now it appears that they are retaliating. My meds have been completely cut off, My diagnosis has been walked back, I was drug tested and a threatening letter has been sent. They claim "procedure." What they are requiring is that I crash and my T must test so low that it falls off the scale. Only then will they give me a dose that would be either 1/5 or one 10th of my normal dose. Then if I test even one point into the normal range I get yanked back off! I have heard countless horror stories about this place dating back decades. How is this place allowed to remain open? read more

I have been a patient of this clinic for 10 years now. No longer! In the past, I've always been treated with respect and kindness. However, the last two visits to this place have forced me to seek care elsewhere. I was greeted in a very hostile, angry, and rude tone by a young woman at the receptionist window named Stacia. She was busy chit chatting with another woman...gossiping is more like it...when I said excuse me, Im here to check in. She very angrily YELLED. .."IM TALKING O.K!!". They performed a biopsy on my husband and said that they would call in about 2 weeks. Three weeks went by and no call, so we called and they said there was no report. We called in another week and they said that the doctor did not have time to review it. We called again and they said that it would take another week to get the report. We called again and they said that his primary physican had the report. More than a month later we made an appointment with her and she had no idea that there was a report or even a biopsy. We referred her to his chart and she finally found a note that a biopsy was done. So where was the report? She had no idea and left the room for 30 minutes. We finally got a report copy faxed from the lab in Redding. She kept making excuses and then told us she couldn't read the report or give a diagnosis based on it. Well we asked for a copy and had to read the diagnosis for ourselves. Yes, it was cancer that had been ignored by Lassen Medical because there is no one competent enough to read a lab report or to manage patients information and no one who cares enough to give the patient the information or timely care that they need. Worst customer service, completely rude. Literally 0 empathy. My son is special needs and his dr moved to this clinic so we followed him. Unfortunately for us it is now almost 2 hours away. We love his dr. And my son is comfortable with him so we are trying to make it work. Well the woman that work with making the appointments and answering the phones have been very degrading since we switched over, today was the last straw. We ran into traffic really bad on our way up and we're going to be about 15 minutes late. We called and they said if we were going to be more than 10 minutes late we would have to reschedule for another day.... mind you his appointment isn't anything big it's literally a 5 minute appointment, nothing is changing. I wanted to maybe just sit and wait to see if maybe we could be squeezed in at some point, but nope. Anything over 10 minutes won't work. I get it, we were late. It happens to the best of us. But I refuse to be treated like trash. I work with clients all day and have worked with people being late. This is the worse place in the north state for medical care. Run don't just walk away. You get to see a Dr for 5 minutes and they are glued to an iPad to fill in. They have gone to s--- all there technology does not replace human kindness. They have Screwed up my medications for 6 months finally the insurance gets them on track and this month I no longer have the same Dr. To top it off I have to make appointment to see a new Dr. To get mtmy medications ordered. And don't ask for the person responsible for this place... you get transferred to a line they dont answer. I wound up going to the clinic connected to Lassen Medical on 9/9/2019 What can I say other than it was the worst appt. I have ever been to there. I got in within 30 min., then I was left waiting in a room for over 1 hour. The girl sticks her head in, like, oh there is someone in here. Finally the PA comes in, and says she cannot do ANYTHING. And suggested I go to the ER. She didn't even have my file when she was speaking to me. That day they were sending most of their patients to the ER, because when I got there, they followed. There is no excuse for this when someone has a problem, like naseau for 4 days. Went to the ER and I had a UTI, which would have only taken one urine sample. Anyway, I refuse to go back. The ER was much quicker and quickly found the problem. Pretty Sad when a person has to go elsewhere. I like my regular Dr., but unfortunate she was booked til mid October. SAD !!! Dr Shahatit is the best MD I have ever had... And I've had a lot of doctors. He is kind, easy to approach and extremely thorough. I feel very fortunate to have him as my MD and I don't see myself ever changing. I also like Lassen Medical Group as a whole. Unbelievably bad. The urgent care stop seeing patients 2 hours early because they met their quota. Perhaps they need more doctors. I visit my parents in RB once a year and usually need to bring the kids in for something. I have good insurance. From the receptionist, to the woman at the window, the nurse and finally the doctor it's just terrible. I'm sorry the residents of Red Bluff have few options if they need urgent care. I have a very good doctor here, first off. Having said that, l would have to stridently scorn this screwed up business. Is it owned by monkees? I was overseas trying to make an appointment, and l spent three days on satelite phone trying to reach a receptionist. There was at the time a patient portal whereby on the internet you could make an appointment. I tried to utilize this but was unsuccessful because the service needs to text your phone. My phone doesn't work in the Middle East! I filed a complaint with the BBB. After 1 months time, l was notified by the BBB that the uncaring, cold "machinery" corporation who owns Lassen Medical did not respond to my valid complaint. No ressponse at all, what so ever! All I can say is the billing department is practicing price gauging and unethical billing charges once you check in they bombard you with different pages that you have to sign or you don't get the service,you have be lawyer in order to understand what you reading and signing in a short time you have before you appointment time.I lost my coverage due to loss of my job,so ireeived a call from my Dr office regarding my lab work and dr visit appointment which I explained my situation and my lack of coverage so they coded me $150. For my lab work and $120 for the Dr visit and agreed to pay It cash at the time of receiving the services ,after arriving for lab work when I was signing in I asked to pay and they made made me wait about 45 minutes to figure the amount which they said is estimated $172. And paid the amount then on my Dr visit on arrival they asked for $154.dollars I paid now after five days they emailed me with extra $88 charges .in both cases everything was very clear the type of lab work I had and 15-20 minutes Dr visit very simple ,so you tell me they don't know their prices ?even local butcher knows the price of different part of the meat he sell you . This is the most unprofessional medical facility I have ever experienced. Not only has this facility given me private information of another patient, they also can not follow simple instructions. It took them 2 months to fax a referral for my mother who has stage 3 lung cancer. It took them1 1/2 months to fax a referral for a scope. It took them 3 YEARS...YES 3 YEARS TO FAX A SIMPLE COLONOSCOPY REFERAL!!! IT TOOK THEM OVER 2 MONTHS TO RESPOND TO MY FILING OF FMLA TO CARE FOR MY PARENTS COSTING ME 2 MONTHS OF LOST PAY!! AND IT IS UNCALLED FOR TO GIVE ME ANOTHER PATIENTS APPOINTMENT CARD AND THEN CLAIM MY FATHER HAS NO APPOINTMENT DUE TO YOUR INABILITY TO PERFORM SIMPLE OFFICE FUNCTIONS! Then when a person files a complaint, or when they simply drive a person to having an anxiety attack, they want to claim that person is threatening and abusive? The physician, Villapena, makes mistakes that cost the patient their health. Her Medical Assistant, Bree, is immature and untrustworthy. Bree will receive a patient's inquiry, document that she doesn't know what the patient wants then drops the ball. The staff at Lassen Medical have a difficult time understanding patient inquiries too. Bree Coats lacks critical thinking skills and performs sloppy work. Common for Lassen Medical Group. read more
