I have been a patient of Dr. Walker's for over ten years. I recently saw her again and was reminded how grateful I am for having such a professional, knowledgeable and caring physician. In this era of medicine by Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Walker provides a thoughtful and caring ear, and brilliant medical skills. Dr Walker diagnosed my illness quickly and offered concern surrounding the ramifications of it - She was direct and poignant surrounding deciphering my illness. Her staff were empathetic and supportive. On my end I wanted a clear diagnosis with lab work so I called the office and the Nurse Practitioner ordered a blood test. I was relieved that my diagnosis wasn't as severe as originally thought which the blood test confirmed. read more

I went in to interview Dr Walker as my GP is about to retire, I asked her to calibrate my blood pressure monitor. The office is very difficult to deal with. They don't return calls, their written communication is generic, they don't follow-up, and they seem to be more concerned with CYA, and their internal 'procedures than with the wellbeing of their patients. I have been a patient for a few years and poor communication has always been the case. Referrals take for ever, request for records go answered. The last thing that took me over the edge and to writing this review , I had a severe adverse effect to a medication they prescribed. I texted them, they send a notice that they got the message, but nobody got back to me in now 3 weeks. No follow-up, no offer of an alternative, nothing. I was left on my own to deal with it. Sure, we are in a pandemic and communication is more difficult than usual, but still it doesn't seem right. Dr. Walker herself is a decent doctor, but her manner is so impersonal, so indifferent, it anxiety producing for me to ask her for help. read more

Dr. Walker abandoned me as a patient. Needed a prescription refilled urgently as I had poison oak over my entire body. Oozing, red, hot, itchy. Should never called to renew it. Her nurse practitioner who I saw, was very, very inexperienced. Didn't know how to write a prescription for pills. Horrible, horrible experience. read more

Terrible doctor....cold, uncaring, doesn't care about her patients.

I did not have a chance to work with Dr. Walker for a long period of time. So, my judgement is not based on the years of experience. Who knows, maybe, Dr. Walker got a difficult life situation, but she was not caring at all. Overly, it seems like she has done her "American doctor job" during our short period I knew her, but she was very cold and her stare somewhere on the wall instead of ever looking at me was pretty disturbing. She also provided some pretty false information. She told me that it would be okay to go into pregnancy with a borderline ferritin (and I am a person who is prone to have depression and losses of blood already). She did not treated me. And she left my insurance group almost right away. I put two stars because the office worked somewhat well in general. read more

This is truly outrageous. I was referred to Dr. Walker by my lovely OBGYN who works in the same office across the way. I've been in need of a good general/primary doctor ever since I moved to SF nearly 5 years ago. My first, and sadly only visit was a few weeks ago, I had a cough which lasted more than a week. Dr. Walker told me it was bronchitis, therefore viral and so there was nothing she could do to help. She asked if anything else was wrong, I told her I've has some neck pain and she suggested stretching, and maybe physical therapy. Not the first time I've heard that "advice", but okay. This visit took no more than 20 minutes. Three weeks later, I'm charged $526 for this visit. I have a HDHP medical plan, so I was fully aware I'd be paying the full cost of the visit, but $526 for a 20 minute visit in which I got nothing from is truly ridiculous. I emailed their billing, and was told that the visit was classified as a Level 4 (out of 5), so that's why it's going to cost so much. This bs classification is apparently based on " length of visit, and severity "...neither of which should be considered level 4 out of 5. If you don't have a HDHP plan, I'm sure you can afford to see Dr. Walker. For the rest of us, I guess we're just screwed. I love getting ripped off!!! read more

I called Dr. Walker's office to try and book an appointment and didn't even get the courtesy of a return call. Not sure how it is for patients, but they certainly don't seem to care about non-patients at her office. read more

Dr Walker is: personable, knowledgeable,professional and a patient advocate. I am always put at ease when she enters the patient care room. Her demeanor is such that she faces me, listens to me, returns my calls, and ans my messages/concerns via MyChart or a telephone call. Dr. Walker is an EXCELLENT doctor. She is professional, competent, empathetic, compassionate, and caring. I'm over 70 and I went to see her for the first time last week for my yearly physical exam and she is very thorough and understands how difficult it is for me to make it to doctor appointments. I usually see my primary care doctor only once a year for a physical exam and only when necessary. I am extremely happy she is my primary care doctor. read more

We moved to the Bay Area, from Connecticut, several years ago. I struggled to find doctors that my husband and I both liked. I was finally referred to Danielle Walker by several mom friends I was meeting. It's always a good sign when friends from different circles all recommend the same doctor. Coincidentally, a colleague in my husband's San Francisco office also suggested he try Dr. Walker. We are so happy we did! Dr. Walker is brilliant, extremely knowledgeable and thorough. She always puts me at ease with her calm, friendly and non-alarmist demeanor. I never feel rushed, as she listens to my concerns and preferences, taking careful consideration when prescribing treatment. As a mother of 4, I also love that she can relate to me and my hectic lifestyle because she has three young children of her own. My husband has had to leave work in the middle of the day to see Dr. Walker. Even if she is booked, she calls right back, and either finds a way to fit him in or figures out if there is something she can do over the phone. Dr. Walker has even followed up personally to see how I was feeling...who does that anymore? It is such a huge relief to have finally found a family doctor who truly cares about her patients and one we can trust! Dr. Walker is a rare find! We highly recommend her! read more

Love, love, love Dr. Walker. She was attentive, a great listener, & helpful without being judgmental. I liked that she slightly insisted I get my colonoscopy that is due this year.
