If he cannot keep up going between Wahiawa and Ewa, should close one location, notify his patients so at least give opportunity to find a new doctor.

On the day of his appointment, they called a couple of hours prior to his appointment time to say that they need to cancel it because he is a new patient and they only see new patients on Wednesdays. When my dad called back to try to reschedule, they did not answer so he left a message. After not hearing from them, he left a second message, and still nothing. That was 2 weeks ago. I've read several reviews on healthgrades and vitals stating how terrible they are. We were hoping that maybe there was new staffing or they weren't actually as bad as people said they were. It's all true. I hate to rate a doctor based on his staff, but I feel that it needs to be done. No one wants to deal with the aggravation of dealing with people so unresponsive and unreliable. I can imagine how aggravating it would be if you had to see the doctor right away, refill a prescription, obtain paperwork etc.

The office is clean and laid back. I always feel so comfortable here as it reminds me of an aunty's house with it's big windows that provide lots of natural light and breeze. The lights are almost always off in the patient rooms, that's how much natural light there is and there's no need for a/c because of the nice cool breeze off the ocean right across the street. I come here for regular check ups or if I'm feeling unusually sick. The Dr gives sound and common sense advice and is never judgmental or condescending as some doctors can be. Aside from my country Dr in Laie that has been my doctor since the day I was born, Dr. Abschier is easily one of my favorites. Insurance went through easy peasy and the copay isn't bad. I mean, it happens at every clinic. Overall, I find that the staff at this location are much more laid-back than the ones at Mililani. Definitely a comfortable country vibe. I find that wait times here are much shorter too. A caveat is that an online patient system is nonexistent (okay, I mean it is, but they don't promote it), and appointments can only be made over the phone. I'm hoping that should change when they start implementing their new electronic health system in July 2019.

In at 9:38. Out at 9:40! A whopping 2 minutes! It would have been even shorter, but he asked if we had any concerns, and I said that my Dad has had a cough for the last few weeks. A quick look at his throat and Dr. Dang decided it was allergies. My father is 81 years old and not very assertive. I have been his advocate for the last couple of years. Dr, Dang's style of medical treatment is faster than fast food. I feel like his goal is to get patients in and out of his office as quickly as possible. The more patients he can run through the day, the more profitable it is for him. He lacks the compassion and care of a truly good Dr. I hope that if he has aging parents, that their Drs take the time to talk and listen to them. Both of my daughters love him. He is intelligent, compassionate, patient, thorough, and has the kind of bedside manner that makes families feel safe and cared for. We have trusted him for nearly a decade and have recommended countless people to this practice because of the incredible care HE provides. Which is exactly why the behavior from his office staff today was so shocking and infuriating. I received a phone call threatening collections over a bill that I had ALREADY communicated multiple times would be paid at our next appointment in just a few weeks. Not ignored. Not refused. Communicated. Yet instead of being treated like a loyal, long-term patient and human being, I was treated like a problem. What made it even worse was the complete lack of compassion, accountability, and professionalism from the office manager. The office blamed the billing company. The billing company stated the office makes the decision. Back and forth, finger pointing, excuses, while speaking to patients with absolutely zero empathy. Healthcare offices need to remember that patients are not account numbers. We are families. We are people who have supported your practice for YEARS. People who trusted you enough to recommend friends, family, and loved ones into your care. To be spoken to in a cold, dismissive, and threatening manner over a balance that was already being handled felt incredibly disrespectful and honestly dehumanizing. I called Wee Pediatric, they were accepting new patients, schedule them for their appointments but I needed to change their PCP on the medical card. They were foster kids but now I have legal guardianship on my granddaughters. The only one can change their PCP is the social worker. When the social worker called to change thePCP, and Wee Pediatric realize my grandkids were foster kids, they were denied to be a patient there. The office manager exact words were, "WE DON'T TAKE FOSTER KIDS" I blew up, I ask the manager, I want it in writing why your office not accepting my grandkids. I kept on asking her to put it in writing she was ignoring my request, finally she said ok, we will considered taking your grandkids. Office and waiting area is nothing fancy but don't let that fool you, the service provided is Excellent!! I would recommend Dr. Lam to anyone in need of a good family doctor.
