Luckily, I found Pali Women's Health which was thankfully on the west side of the island near home. Pali Women's Health shares the same parking lot as Kalapawai Cafe. If there is no parking, you can find street parking, Chuck E Cheeses, or across the street at the old K-Mart. It's a small facility, but I felt that it was great for what I was wanted. I called in after seeing their Yelp page and requested an appointment. Someone called me within 48 hours to schedule and because I was a new patient, they even mailed me my forms ahead of time so I can complete it before coming in. The woman on the phone was really helpful and she worked with my hectic work schedule. My appointment was with Physician's Assistant Alisha who was awesome! I felt comfortable talking with her about my health and felt that she gave me great information based on my family's history on preventative measures and doing a cancer screening. I felt comfortable talking to her and the exam flew by quickly. I'd definitely recommend!

I love that she provided a stacked of documents that prepared me what to expect in different situations, pediatrician recommendation etc. I always went back to it whenever I wanted to know what the next step is or what should I do in certain situations. I was induced on my due day, and it really made me so much more confident when I saw Dr. Leung right before the induction, and she showed up as soon as I got into active labor which was in the middle of the night! I really wouldn't be able to deliver the baby so smoothly and has a healthy baby without her help. Dr. Beair also very kind to me during the couple weeks when Dr. Leung was out of office. Throughout my pregnancy, I also saw Dr. Beair when Dr. Leung was unavailable, and I always felt well cared for by the entire team. Dr. Leung was always reassuring whenever I had concerns and took the time to sit down with me and explain everything step by step. She never made me feel rushed and always made sure my questions were answered. I felt well taken care of throughout my pregnancy, labor & delivery, and postpartum period. I'm especially grateful to her for helping bring our healthy baby girl into this world after so much longing and anticipation. I also appreciated the excellent care I received during my C-section and recovery, my incision healed beautifully and looks great. I'll miss seeing Dr. Leung and the team so often. I'm very grateful for the care, support, and compassion I've received from everyone over the years. I would absolutely trust Dr. Leung with any future pregnancies and all of my gynecologic care, and I look forward to seeing her again when the time comes.

Receptionist's and intake MA have always been nice and professional greeting me with a smile and always saying hello. They are working so hard always on the phone or scheduling an appt probably amongst other things like doing prior auths for failed insurance coverage etc etc. They always knows who i am when checking in, and while sometimes we do have to wait because Dr Tsai is delivering a baby or seeing a new mother for her morning check up i am totally fine waiting. Dr Tsai has been my OB for 6 of my births and there is no where else i would rather be. She is hard working, selfless, knowledgeable, knows how to make critical decisions in a high stress situation and always willing to stay and answer every question that i have. Working in the medical field myself we can be the worst type of patient (LOL) but i trust her as well as her office completely. Anytime i had a concern that seemed "out there" Dr Tsai always put my mind at ease. Her Nurse Practitioners are also EXCELLENT: Kathy, Erica and Wimonrat. They have each helped me at some point and i am even fine with just seeing them for my routine check ups because they are that amazing. The nurse practitioner attempted to insert my IUD twice but was unsuccessful. What was most frustrating was the lack of clear communication about why the insertion was unsuccessful. Rather than explaining what may have made the insertion difficult, I was told that I had not taken the prescribed medication correctly, even though I had followed the instructions. She also commented that, in her career, I was the only one patient in the recent years she had been unable to insert an IUD for. That comment was extremely discouraging and immediately made me feel as though something was wrong with me. I understand that IUD insertions can sometimes be difficult or unsuccessful, and I would have been much more understanding if I had simply been given clear, respectful education about what happened and what my options were. Instead, the experience felt very invasive, uncomfortable, and emotionally discouraging. I scheduled a third appointment but ultimately canceled because I did not feel comfortable going through the process again. It was violating. I ended up finding another OBGYN instead. Overall, I was disappointed with the experience and especially with how the situation was communicated to me. This practice has lost my trust, and I most definitely would not trust them to deliver a child after this experience with a far less invasive procedure.

I mean, it happens at every clinic. Overall, I find that the staff at this location are much more laid-back than the ones at Mililani. Definitely a comfortable country vibe. I find that wait times here are much shorter too. A caveat is that an online patient system is nonexistent (okay, I mean it is, but they don't promote it), and appointments can only be made over the phone. I'm hoping that should change when they start implementing their new electronic health system in July 2019.

It's so much more than just the basic medical tests. It's the "How are you feeling?" And focus on overall health and wellness without judgment that keeps me coming backs. She offers esthetic services too, which is super convenient. I've never had any of the aesthetic treatments and I love that she doesn't push anything, but it's nice to have the option and when I'm ready for those treatments, I'll definitely go to Dr Twu.
