We ordered 150 alstromeria stems from Danisa's for our wedding. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and had lots of advice for us to best arrange our own flowers. We picked up the stems fresh off the plane on the Wednesday morning before our Sunday wedding to give them time to open their blooms at home. For $1 per stem, we got beautiful long-stemmed flowers that lasted for 2 full weeks after they bloomed, saving hundreds of dollars. What an amazing staff of professionals! We ordered flowers in bulk from Danisa's for our wedding and the customer service was top notch. I've had positive contact with everyone but the person I had my meeting with was Cesar and he was awesome! He helped me pick through the flowers I wanted, guided me on how much to get, and never rushed me through on my decisions. After our meeting was over, he let me look around the warehouse so that I could get a better picture of what to expect when I would go to pick up. Pick-up went without a hitch. They had contacted me a day beforehand to let me know that some flowers were too open and gave me options to substitute the not-so-good ones. So when I went to pick it up there were no surprises and they also gave me instructions on how to care for them for the next couple of days. Cesar went beyond and gave me a whole bunch of stems that were free of charge, in order to make up for the not-so-good stems! We ordered all of our roses, seeded eucalyptus, carnations, babys breath, and button poms for our wedding from Danisa's. As we were planning a "destination" wedding from California, Danisa's was great at communicating with us over the phone and through email. They walked us through how many flowers we should purchase (24 table arrangements, 8 bouquets, one bridal bouquet, 8 boutonnieres, 12 hanging mason jars for the aisle, and a hanging carnation wall) and provided suggestions for flowers we could substitute for to get a better deal. We ended up having our DREAM flowers for so, so much less than any florist could have ever offered us. Plus, Danisa's always offered to show us arrangements and give us tips or tricks. We needed a last minute bulk flower order for a wedding that was less than a week away. Our Google search then landed us with Danisa's Bulk Flowers. Being the age we are in now, it has been a long time since I've called in an order for flowers but Danisas' staff were and are patient and understanding on the phone. With Mothers Day coming up, they were very helpful and eager to get our order so that we didn't lose any options flowers wise. They took our order right then and there and gave us a fair price. When we called later for advice, they gave us clear and easy instructions about when to prepare the flowers. When we went to pick up the flowers, we did not know that it was in a warehouse center. That is the only downfall, their outside appearance. The sign is a piece of paper on an unlocked warehouse door. However their kindness, friendliness, professionalism, and efficiency made up for it. They gave us more advice on care and preparation for the flowers, while ready to answer any questions we had. Also, the owner took time to take care of us and explained that the flowers they receive came not only all over the U.S. but South America and even as far as Thailand too. On the wedding day, the flowers came out great looking and we didn't lose a single one. Now, 3 days after the wedding, the flowers are still going strong. Great quality and a fair price. I used Danisa's Flowers for my niece's wedding in Pennsylvania this past July. I had recently taken a flower arranging class at Danisa's with floral designer Michael Gaffney. His advise was to always start with a reputable flower shop with quality merchandise, so I chose Danisa's. With the knowledge from the class and the staff at Danisa's to help I decided to give it a go even though I was concerned about transporting the flowers to Pennsylvania. Everyone at Danisa's was extremely helpful with selecting flowers that would hold up, color selection and quantities needed. The flowers were packed in boxes with ice to keep them fresh for the five hour car ride. It was an extremely hot and humid day, but the flowers arrived in perfect condition. Not one of them was damaged or wilted. The flowers were picked up on Wednesday for a Saturday wedding. Not only were they fresh for the Saturday wedding, but also the roses and hydrangeas had opened up and were very full for my niece's special day. After the wedding, the flowers were still so fresh and beautiful that my niece was able to donate them to an agency that delivers them to nursing home residents. I would highly recommend Danisa's to anyone. Everyone at the shop was very helpful and professional. I never felt rushed and they were always happy to spend extra time with me to insure that my selection was exactly what I wanted. My daughter's wedding was a destination event in Washington, DC (we all live up in the NY/NJ area). She used a florist for the reception, but requested that my brother and I (her mother) execute her vision for the church (Dahlgren Chapel, Georgetown) and bridal party flowers. I scoured the internet & found many on-line bulk flower sites, but decided the logistics of using multiple vendors might be risky & hard to manage. After some research, I found Danisa's on Yelp, & quickly got very comfortable once I called & consulted with Alison Dierksheide in Sales. Alison listened carefully to the concept (all white flowers, with enough varieties so 9 bridesmaids/MOH could have unique bouquets, with the bride's being a composite of all the varieties. Also, large all-white arrangements for the altar plus 16 pew flower bouquets.) Although I had the choices mostly worked out, Alison jumped in & made very knowledgeable comments and recommendations. She was able to get right back to me with a price quotation which was right on budget. If I had ordered (over 14 varieties, plus lots of different greens) from an on-line vendor, I would have had to purchase larger minimum amounts of each flower. Danisa's allowed me to get exactly the amount I needed for each type of flower, which kept the overall cost down. Alison did point out, Danisa's provides premium quality flowers, so the unit prices may at first seem pricier, but the ability to order the amount you actually need manages total cost better. The flowers were delivered by a very helpful delivery person, & everything came packaged carefully (looked like they were the same long boxes they'd been shipped in from the farm). Tuberoses did not arrive that day, but Alison called me and suggested freesias as a substitute which were beautiful & easier to work with. Leslie was very helpful and knowledgeable about flowers. However she was very persistent with calling me to buy flowers. That was annoying. She answers all of my questions in a timely manner. However my experience turned horrible later. Long story short, my bridesmaid picked up my flowers the day before my wedding. I asked her to glance in the box and make sure they were all there. Needless to say they gave me less than half of my already paid for flowers! I quickly called that evening when I noticed. I explained that I had my entire day planned already and driving and hour back to pick up my flowers, arrange them at home and take the remaining flowers and hour to the church was a terrible inconvenience! I had to rearrange my entire day and did not get to bed the day before my wedding until 3am! I understand people make mistakes, but the manager at Danisa'a is APPALLING! He told me that "people make mistakes" and explained how he didn't have time to fix my problem. He said all he could do was offer one bunch of daisy flowers. I explained that daisy did not go with my decor and they would not help. He yelled, "well don't take them then." His tone was rude and tried to quickly rush me off the phone. I would be very cautious of this place. You have to pay before you see the flowers and if anything goes wrong, you may not get any help. Never going back! read more

The wedding was on Sunday and Caesar suggested picking up the flowers on Tuesday or Wednesday since they needed time to open. I purchased flowers for a friends wedding and decided to go wholesale in order to save on cost. It was my first time working with a wholesale florist so I had multiple phone conversations with Ana about what I needed and how she could help me create the arrangements I wanted. Two days before the wedding, I emailed Ana to let her know my sister would be picking the flowers up for me & confirming that she would get the DIY instructions Ana previously said she would give me (during one of our phone conversations). She didn't respond by the time I was driving into work so I called the shop and was told they only provide flower care instructions. I asked to speak to Ana directly and was sent to her voicemail. I left a message saying I wouldn't have access to my email while at work so I would call her back in a couple hours. When I called back, I spoke to another person who claimed Ana was on the phone with another customer; but we could communicate threw him because he was passing her notes. I explained that Ana and I discussed DIY instructions for the flowers and that I needed her to give them to my sister since I wasn't available to pick up the flowers myself. The man said that was not true and he would forward me her emails if I wanted. I clarified that we had the discussion over the phone and I purchased with them BECAUSE I was told I could get instructions. He then tells me I have an attitude and any other person would be happy to get the flower care instructions he was willing to give me. At no point would Ana speak to my herself. Once I left work, I see an email from Ana (mind you I left her a message saying I wouldn't get my emails during the day, which is why I called) saying she would only provide flower care instructions - basically putting it in writing even though she verbally agreed to give me step-by-step DIY instructions. Thankfully, my friends and I figured it out - but I will never do business with them again. If you want pretty flowers, they have them. If you want decent customer service, go elsewhere. read more

My daughter and I drove from Capitol Heights, Maryland to see the selection of calla lilies for her upcoming wedding. On the website, they are quoting a price of $3.75 a bunch , 10 stems in a bunch / 50 cm. Yet, Caesar, quoted a price 10 times the online price of $37.50 a bunch of 10 stems. He claims that the prices online are incorrect due to input error. He made no attempt to compensate for the price difference. This is not a good way to do business!! I have been to other wholesale flower places in the DC area and while most of them are bigger their prices are so much higher and the quality of their flowers is not as good.
