Not a lot of people wander down this side of Batangas City as a destination -- it's often just the…read moreway farther down to Nasugbu to other, more well-known places. So when business took me to that side, i explored the nearby places and found Crust in Sandari, Batulao, which offers Neapolitan-style brick oven pizza. Not one to resist good pizza, i stopped by to check it out. It was a charming little place with tasteful brick interiors and naked bulb lights, which always appeals to me. I ordered the 5-cheese pizza, predictably. Hah. Anyway, the pizza was good enough, although i'd have to say there was not nearly enough cheese as you would expect from a 5-cheese one. Also, the kesong puti (white cheese) was baked in to the pizza, instead of just being added on top, which made it lose its flavor. The crust was quite good, though, which is fortunate given the establishment's name. :) Mix the chili flakes with the crisp garlic bits they have on the table with some tabasco and the resulting paste makes a good dip for the crust.
PS. They have a beautiful koi pond outside, and for Php 20 you can purchase fish food for them :)
