We talked about jewelry, the designers & other entertaining subjects. Pasty is wicked nice. She's professional, engaging & enjoyed talking many subjects. She showed the differencs between wholesale & local artists. I bought a cool silver ring which fits perfectly w/ my gold ring as if they were made for each other! I highly recommend Sea Glass Jewelry. Patsy is invested & knowledgeable. Instead of waiting at Alisson's for take out I shopped around Sea Glass. The artists work at Sea glass are unique! I have bags of sea glass likely as old as when I was growing up on Cliff Island. I have many colors lavender,champagne pink, blues, greens, browns especially if they have a cool shape. The best areas are located on the little rocky beach fronts near Griffins Cove & like areas. I'll have to contact Pasty & ask her what's up? I have many unique pieces. Frosted crazy shapes. One color that evades a glass picker are the reds. I'll have to recheck my bag to recheck. I also pick up the incredible cool rocks. I found a beautiful one when I was a wee one. My friend told me it was soap stone. It was the greatest find. I think she planted it knowing I wanted one. It was had a variable greens diamond pattern. the design was similar to a particular snake. i'll have to research which one. I don't know where it is..I still have many things I've collected many moons ago. I may have it in my stash. It would be a great piece to come across. Thanks Patsy for making my stay nicer. When I explained I needed a bag, since I was doing more shopping in town and spent close to a hundred dollars, I felt I shouldn't have to pay an additional.25. Not good business sense to loose a customer over a quarter. If I was the clerk, I would have searched around and found some bag that perhaps a person consigning had left behind to give me as an option since she couldn't part with their plain brown paper bags that they use. The owner of this company should pay attention to this and instill some flexibility to their employees.

The lovely woman at the register was very helpful - and recommended a locals' favorite bakery that I should try - Boulangerie, A Proper Bakery. Apparently, their Saturday Babka offering is quite exceptional. They also have a comfy chair and magazines about Maine for your partner to peruse while you shop. My husband actually found a few points of interest to visit during our trip thanks to this little stop. I wish I could pop in more often!

The displays are well presented with plenty of room to explore about (which I can honestly say was not the case a few years ago). I have found some really great items at the store and I love to just wander around. I visit this location about once a month! They also have some cats on site and it's really fun to peek in on them and send them a little bit of love. I have also dropped off donation items here, and the drop off process is very easy and the folks receiving the items are very sweet (and even complementary!) about everything I brought. I highly recommend this store, plus it's icing on the cake that all of the proceeds go to caring for the animals. It doesn't get any better than that if you ask me. :)

Still an aesthetically pleasing place to browse, and they have a select quantity of beautiful clothing, shoes, and accessories. So many lovely, quality items! This year I bought two ample-sized shawl/wrap/scarves (Daisy big wrap) for when it eventually gets cold (it was in the 80s the day I bought them, but I know winter is a-comin'). They are incredibly soft, and come in the most gorgeous colors (I bought one in a deep plum color, and another in a rich teal. I hate winter, but I will be prepared to keep warm in style. The wraps were just $24, and I already know I'll be getting many compliments when I wear these. I also bought a light, airy poncho that can be worn several ways. I bought one here last year--in indigo--and I wear it over solid-colored basics. I never fail to get compliments on it (and it adds just the right amount of light warmth and coverage, as well as a pop of color--sorry, I normally stay away from using overplayed terms like that, but it fits). It's the Van Klee poncho, just $22, and I got one in fuschia. I fell in lust with some of their fabulous jewelry but had to get back to my laundry. I think I'll be back before heading home on the weekend. As noted in my previous review, the ladies working in the shop were friendly and helpful, but not right on top of me as I shopped (thank you, thank you). This is my favorite shop in York.

They greeted everyone who came in, asked if they could help, and thanked everyone walking out the door whether they bought something or not. The place was full of beach and new england inspired goods that were attractive and funky. Books about lobster, books about new england, retro sand pails, lamps made out of shells, flip flop coasters, starfish, paintings, weathered wood clocks. I highly recommend stopping in, and getting a REAL souvenir to bring back home. And if you're are one of the lucky few who live near the ocean, def come pick out some beach inspired decor for your house.
