Although he utilizes new school technology with payments etc, his style of barbering is perfect and suits me well. He will do shaves, beards, trims etc. He goes out of his way to make sure that you are happy with his work. I only wish he included a razor clean up around the ears and neck with every haircut. To me that is very important to a good haircut experience. Overall you wont go wrong with his services here.

So, I tell the guy how I want my hair. He seems to understand and then he wets some of my hair and starts with a brush. I see the brush when he puts it down: "Who's hair is in that brush?" "A couple of guys. Barbers are busy" "Let's not do that." So, he starts cleaning. and while he's doing that I realize that it is not standard practice there and I left. I arrived 10 minutes early and Alicia was my barber. Right from the start, she tried to convince me to use clippers instead of the straight razor. I explained that the straight razor experience was the main reason I booked this service and was willing to pay the premium price. During the appointment, several "before and after" photos were taken, but multiple parts of the advertised experience were either skipped or never offered. After working a 10-hour day at the Kalamazoo Event Center, I was especially looking forward to the vibrating shoulder massage, but it was never provided. In addition, my eyebrows were never trimmed, which I had expected to be included as part of a premium grooming service. When paying $125 after tip, I expected more attention to detail and the complete experience that was advertised. While the haircut and beard trim were acceptable, I left feeling like I paid for a premium service but received only a basic version of it. For the price charged, I expected the straight razor experience, finishing touches, and amenities that were promised.
