Tillinghast was the golf course architect, does the name sound familiar? He also designed Bethpage Black Course, which will host the 2019 PGA Championship and the 2025 Ryder Cup. As I mentioned in my tip, the course plays short for the bigger hitters, so one must be aware of fairway bunkers that are not noticeable, but very much in play. During portions of the course from the tee box, you may catch glimpses of the tip of a fairway bunker yet the remainder of the hazard is lurking below your line of sight. Most will require a 260-270 carry from the championship tee's to fly them, so I recommend you do not attempt it as the penalty can me large.. Similarly, you find that same issue with your approach shots, there is deceptive bunkering. Once I had my yardage, I would execute the shot only to find in many cases I was on the beach. The wind swirls all over the course, I struggles all day to find a pattern of direction unsuccessful. I became perplexed trying to understand if it was the wind, the deceptively large bunkers that were catching my approaches, rather then their safe landing in the greens, as my swing was feeling properly grooved. If your were long on your approach, it was typically not a place you could get up and down from, short and you would be in high grass or a deep six foot bunker. Once on the greens, again there was deceptive breaks I just could not get a handle on and therefore remained uncomfortable with staring down a six footer for par. A putt I would typically slam in the back of the cuo without hesitation, I was on my heels with hesitation and re reads of every putt. . What a smart and strategic little course and a warm and welcoming clubhouse.

Might seem long, but we took our time, and one of our players was 85 years young, but a good player, so we moved along quickly. The course itself is an old school set up from the 1930s. Deceptively long, but very fair, and better players will score on it. Myself as not a bad player did well for my first look at it. Reachable par fours, but longer than you think par fives and par threes. Greens were much faster than I thought they would be due to the dampness, but they rolled true and there was not much breaks. Overall fun round at a nice private course on LI close to Belmont Racetrack. Stop in, play a round, and head over for the 9th race!

My dad got my boyfriend golf lessons with Marc as a gift for his birthday and he could not have…read morepicked a better gift! After the lesson he went on and on about how beneficial it was. After a few swings Marc was able to diagnose the main issue with the swing and make the proper adjustment. They were able to work through irons, driver and sand wedge within the hour and he is excited to put the revamped swing to use on the course. He also particularly loved the screen that you hit into and the type of data you are able to derive from it (angle of contact, open vs closed club face, etc.). It was easy to see how the adjustment translated into better data and better contact. Now he is excited to put what he learned to use on the course.

I enjoyed the game and am thinking of continuing the indoor game or playing on a golf course sometime. I took indoor golf lessons when I was in college but i didn't learn much about the skills, especially was bad on consistency. I feel the lessons with Marc were so much better. I met with Marc five times, one hour each time. He can always easily pinpoint the problem in my movements, give me instructions to improve and spend a lot of time letting me repeat and build my consistency. We covered a few clubs including iron, sand wedge and putter. I wish I could learn more from him if time permits.
