I had seen the sign for Shampology as I passed it every day in the DD. When I saw the coupon they were offering for Keratin in Couptessa I figured it would be a great opportunity to try it out. It was hard to get in for an appointment since I had gotten a few coupons so my daughters and I could have a 'girls day out'. Getting appointments for three people within the same time frame can be hard. There are only two stylists and a couple assistants. Unfortunately one of my daughters couldn't do it at the time so my little one went for her Moroccan Oil treatment as I got my Keratin. I must say that the vibe and the energy from the get go was very positive, everyone was super nice. Again, great vibe, positive energy and smiles to go around. I witnessed the transformation of one client who had the longest, thickest, wildest, coarsest hair into sleek long sexy hair and was supremely impressed. The stylist who did her hair took care of my daughter who was very sweet to her, kept on complimenting her and did a wonderful job. When a girl is 15 compliments are very nice.. Michelle and Danny took care of me. Both were wonderful and Danny gave me some great tips on thrifting in the area. On my first visit, I felt like we were instant friends and that I had been coming to him for years. He knew exactly how to handle my thin hair and gave me an AWESOME cut. It even grew out well - no awkward period - I didn't have to go back to have it shaped up for months and months. Danny is clearly more concerned about making his customers look good than making money by having them return every 6 weeks. At my last appointment, when I asked if he thought I needed color, he said no; again, he's not out just to make a buck. At $200 for cut and color, this is more than I've spent in the past on my hair, but it's certainly not unreasonable, I only have to go 2-3 times a year, and, in any case, Danny is worth every penny! read more

You pay rental chair fees of 3000$ over 3 months you expect the salon owner to pay the rent on his salon. Not in this case after paying $1000 a month for 3 months I walk in to see an eviction notice. After paying another weeks rent we had to leave before the week started and had to pay another owner for the same week. Miami closed and ft Lauderdale closed hmmm what's wrong here? The eviction notice was for $15000 that obviously stayed in his pocket. Never paid commissions on walk in customers that I serviced, a real dead beat! read more

Staff was EXTREMELY rude!!! I couldn't make it to one of the appointments I had made because I was having a surgery done and had paid for the service through groupon. When I called, the lady said I couldn't make another appointment because I missed my original one. And when I asked "Well what about the money I paid?", I quote she said "You lost it!". I was overdue writing this review. I have been coming to this salon for about 3 Or 4 years now and always have had a good experience. I used to have another stylist but had been seeing Danny last few years. He really is great. I'd say one of the best colorist in Miami and my hair grows very fast since he's been my hairstylist . The salon is on the DD and is a nice, cool and clean salon. Danny also has a great team and everyone is nice . From facials to nails they have it all. I always like my color and style when Danny does my hair and more importantly, he has a great positive attitude at all times and i love being around people like that. Danny Dillon is a professional and one of the kindest in the industry. So why has he hired mean, bitchy stylists to work along side him? The whole time I was there for a keratin treatment I was lectured, belittled, and made to feel like I had perhaps done something to offend the stylist - and I'm nothing but polite and respectful to other people. I almost walked out of there crying because the stylist just chose not the hear me when all I did was make a reasonable request so that I might walk out of the salon feeling good about my hair and myself. All I received were defensive, unfriendly, and rude remarks. Thankfully Danny came to my rescue and spent a whopping 1 minute to hear me and do what I requested so that I would feel good enough to step outside in public. People go to salons to feel good about themselves and when they are taking the step to do so, there is no reason to treat them so poorly and with such disregard. (You are a stylist, you are not curing cancer). If you make an appointment, just be sure to specifically request Danny. read more

Shampology is one of those places driven past numerous times being just a block from my house and wish I had gone in sooner! Danny the owner was very kind along with the sweet young lady who did my blow dry. They were able to schedule me as a walk in and had me walk out looking fabulous for a wedding that afternoon. Another lady was two chairs down with Danny and clearly had been coming to see him for quite some time. I just love the natural hospitality, makes for a cozy place you want to keep going! Beware-this salon knows nothing about HAIR EXTENSIONS-but they advertise that they do. They claim to use"Great Lengths" hair extensions but instead use a cheaper, poorer quality hair. After getting my hair done, my extensions fell out in a week. The owner agreed to redo them and again they fell out. After getting a consultation elsewhere, I learned they weren't even Great Lengths hair! I asked for my money back and was told by the owner that he would pay for my new extensions (at another salon) and to bring back the receipt. When I did, he broke his word and rudely insulted me. Danny is the best. I've been going to him for a couple of years now and had jumped around a lot before finding him. I have curly hair and walked in there with bad color that was too dark and harsh for my complexion and a kind of shaggy overall look. In a matter of a few visits Danny transformed my hair and it's now really flattering so that I get compliments on the color and the cut. In addition to his expertise Danny is a friendly, cool guy. He and his assistant Nelda are both detail-oriented and know that great service will keep people coming back. I HIGHLY recommend this salon. I cannot comment on the service because I was treated so badly when trying to make an appointment. I bought a Groupon for the salon and after leaving two messages (no one answers the phone) I could not get a Sat appointment until late March (promotion expiration was in Feb) and I called early Jan!! When I asked if the long wait was due to selling lots of Groupons or small staff, well I seemed to hit a nerve. Danny said we weren't "Clicking" on the phone and I should call Groupon and get my money back. He was incredibly rude. So I took his advice and got a refund. My advice is to make an appoint before buying a GROUPON! read more

I saw a groupon for the Keratin treatment that I have had done twice before with my normal stylist, so I decided to give them a try. The stylist they assigned me, named Omar, was beyond rude when consulting with me and it was clear he did not want to do the treatment on me. He made me feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome. Proceeded to the front desk to tell the receptionists how he did not want to do the treatment, so I got up, and asked to leave and informed him of how terrible his customer service was and how he should learn to speak appropriately to people if he wants to be in a customer service business. I would NEVER go back and urge anyone else to think twice! I have never in my life walked out on any appointment, or been treated in such a way where I ever felt the need to. I am also rating this salon one star because I cant rate zero. This salon is an "establishment" with THE RUDEST PEOPLE I HAVE EVER DELT WITH, I got a groupon and made my appointment, the weather was so bad when my appointment was scheduled I called to see if I could reschedule and was told I would get a call back, I never received the call. When I called back I was told my appointment had been cancelled and the money I had spent on groupon lost, and then I was hung up on. This place gets one star because I could not give them zero. I had an appointment at 4:00pm for a keratin treatment. I arrived on time and was given some forms to complete. I then sat there for 45 minutes with no acknowledgement or explanation that they were running late. One of the stylists then finished with his client and then completely ignored me and started to chat with the other client (there were only 2 stylists there). At that time, the woman stylist told me it would be at least another 15 minutes, making my appointment over an hour late. I explained that I had a 6:30p appt, as they had explained the service would take 2 hours. Her response, well we are running late what do you want me to do. I finally left at 5:00pm as I could not wait any longer and there was no telling when they would get around to me. As I left, I told the male stylist who was still chitchatting with the other client that I had to leave and he said nothing. read more

Never get your hair done here!!!! Danny is a thief and the worst colorist ever. I went to Danny for hair extensions. We decided to go a shade darker. He colored my roots really dark and looked like i had a giant stripe down the middle of my dead. After shampooing my hair it started turning green. I have had to spend so much money on color correction. Danny brought in a girl to do the extension consultation. I wanted to do tapes or keratin bonding. She had no idea what that even was. She insisted on doing a weave on me. I had a really bad feeling about the whole situation but they both pressured me into it. I paid $800 for a deposit to have the hair overnighted and to be put on the next day. I went home and did some research. The girl showed me a book of her work. Unfortunately, she used stock photos that soooo many people on the internet were showing too and so she lied that these were pictures of hair that she did. Also, I have really fine hair and a weave is the worst for that hair type. It is designed for thick and course hair types. So after 5 days of the hair not even showing up (even though I had my hair overnighted) I told Danny I felt extremely uncomfortable with having this done and wanted to cancel. He said no problem and he would give me a refund. That was almost a year ago. I have tried to go through my bank and the better business bureau. Next I will be filing a court suit. Danny told me in numerous texts which luckily I still have as evidence that he would refund my money. With my bank and BBB he LIED and said that I signed forms saying no deposit. I have so many texts from him saying the opposite. Very bad business practice. read more
