Got a Reuben the week after St Patrick's Day. $10 for just the sandwich but oh my gosh I swear it was the best & most authentic Reuben I have ever eaten. It is perfectly cooked & packed. I would pass on the cheese curds though bc it seemed more like a regular side portion than an appetizer portion. Hands down Danny's Meats has the best bacon. The bacon is something I am willing to pay the much higher price than I would for the stuff in the sealed bags at the grocery store. I have had many of the other selections from Danny's--the sandwiches are excellent and cheaper than a Subway, and I've placed special orders for certain things that come through without issue. The service and selection is amazing. Now, this is a butcher shop mostly. It's low frills, but stocked well enough that you can pick up things you may need to make a complete meal, but there's also a Piggly Wiggly nearby that makes the cost of the ancillary items a bit steep. It would be wise to buy your ancillary needs at Piggly Wiggly nearby. Then use that savings to buy more hickory smoked or applewood bacon. :) read more

This has always been a wonderful butcher shop but I wasn't aware that it also made an amazing Friday Fish Fry. I'm sadly allergic to fish but my mom is visiting from Puerto Rico and is OBSESSED with their Fish Fry. She loves the light crispness, flavor, portion size and potato pancakes. She also loved the service, how nice the employees were and the variety of products in the store. Which is awesome because I love it too! read more

Best beef jerky period! I love the caramelized chewiness of their jerky. I drive all the way from Schaumburg Illinois to this place to get their jerky! Service is also great as well. They let me try the turkey jerky in comparison to the beef jerky. read more

Absolutely an amazing butcher shop and small deli. The butcher is friendly and willing to answer any questions about his products. He is very familiar with where his meat originates and provides suggestions on preparation is asked. The deli salads are amazing and the sloppy joe meat (made in house) made my husband a convert. Disappointed with fish fry tonight. I ordered the regular (cod) ff. 1st of all, out of baked potatoes, ordered French fries. French fries were so salty they were inedible !!! Cod had a different, spicy coating - did NOT care for at all !!! Only thing edible in the dinner was the bread I usually get the shrimp dinner, which is good ! I stopped in here to get a rib eye roast to make a big family dinner for. I had already been to Pick n Save and Piggly Wiggly and was left wanting. I also purchased baked beans and a beef rub. The food is really good when you can get it. Every single time we've been there (about 5-6 times now), we get their and have to switch our whole order around because they're out of stuff or won't make it. The smoothie flavors on their website aren't the same flavors they have when you get there. So far, I've tried to get a burger on friday (they said they can't and can only do fish fries) and on Sunday (they said they don't turn their grill on on Sunday's, not sure why that's one of the busiest days I'd assume). We probably won't be going back because even though the food is great, I'm sick of being excited about it and then not being able to get it because they won't turn on their grill ever. read more

Wow! Visited this fine establishment last night and it did not disappoint. It is was an absolute awesome experience. The employees were super friendly and helpful as we ate there at the small cafe and had the fish fry! It was so good. This place was hopping! I had the 8 piece fan tail shrimp with fries and cole slaw and a huge piece of fresh marble rye. My hubby had the perch that he really enjoyed! It came with fries, cole slaw, homemade tartar sauce and piece of rye. Both baskets came out pipping hot and super fresh. After we finished eating we checked out the meat market. Wow there are some great deals!!! Super selection of everything you can think of that a butcher would carry and then some. We got the prime rib burgers - but two get one free and some cherrywood thick bacon! Can't waitto go back to get some steaks and pork chops. It was certainly worth the drive from Kenosha and had awesome deals. You can sign up for their newsletter on the website and that way you know what the deals are for the week! I stopped in to the new old hickory hall/ old round about bar (owner is danny meats) for dinner with the family. April 2018 on a Friday. My wife wanted to try it. there was no signs and we were wandering around the building. lol. we were greated by a lady who sat us. we were seated in a open hall in the back. a few older folks sitting. very plain, nothing on the walls, I heard it is brand new so we looked past it. my wife ordered the cod fish dinner 12.95. it was very dry. looked like it was under the heat lamps for 30 mintues before we ordered. nothing special about it, my son ordered the jumbo shrimp 15.50. he loves shrimp and could not finish it. he says it came from a box, very soft and mushy. it was. my other son did not like fish and we were told no burgers... no kid menu. he ordered chicken tenders, nothing special, dry he said. a family came in 10 mintues later. they were given a childs menu ?? I ordered all you can eat ribs with potato pancakes. the ribs were charred/burnt on the outside and hidden with thick dark sauce. most of it was burnt, the rest were just ok... we all tried the clam chowder soup. tasted like potato soup, I did not find any clam ??? I was going to order the prime rib but decided not to. A man ordered the king cut who was sitting next to us. It came out, I was first very impressed, huge 2 inches thick. but then I saw him cut down the middle and he put half of the steak on a small dinner plate. all fat and grissle, heaping on the plate. he even commented on how much fat there was. glad I did not order for 29.00. my wife was very disappointed, so was I. After a $80 bill I felt robbed. cheap dried shrimp/fish, burnt ribs. I hope things get better for them. I hate to be negative, but the only positive was the server, very nice and happy. The bus boys were nice alittle eager on cleaning the table while eating. lol. wish them luck. read more

This place was recommended to us by our dear neighbors who have lived in Racine for 40+ years. We love Danny's burgers and fries! My husband says they are the best burgers he's ever had. I'm vegetarian, and love the cheesalicious veggie burger. They even have a drive-thru window, so you can call in your order ahead of time and pick it up from the window - really nice when it's cold out! This place does not disappoint. read more

Poor Customer service. Went for a 4 pound chuck roast, had to wait 10 minutes for the only guy in the place "that can use the saw" to get off the phone. Then waited another 10 minutes to check out while the only working girl was making sandwiches. I should have gone to Costco better meat half the price. read more
