I returned 2 weeks ago (5/7/26), for surgery to remove malignant melanoma on my abdomen. After the sutures were removed, I showed the surgeon multiple areas of cancer concern. He voiced shared concern & said he would send an order to their dermatologist to schedule blue light treatment for entire head and face to attempt to kill precancers before they became fully cancerous. I've had 20+ MOHS surgeries on my face & head. Very disfiguring & mentally challenging. I'm obviously very much at risk. I never heard from the dermatologist, so I called the surgery office for status. Girl said she didn't see any order, would speak to the surgeon & call me back first thing the following day. Nothing. Called a few days later & same result. Returned for melanoma suture removal on 5/18/25, 2 days ago. I had to wait in waiting room for over an hour past the scheduled appt. When I was finally called in, the surgeon was nowhere to be seen. An assistant removed the sutures & I told her about the problem I was having. She swore to me that she would speak in person with the surgeon & they'd call me back by the next day with a date for the blue light/chemo cream treatment. It's now 2 days later & I haven't heard a single word. I don't believe they care about the patients they are carving into. My face & scalp look like a jigsaw puzzle with a couple of pieces missing. I recommend that people stay away from there!

Check in link didn't work for me, but was easy to complete on site. I had a previous visit with Dr. Jeter I believe it was for a different issue and didn't feel good about the treatment plan. I did have to wait a good while before that appointment started- long enough to consider leaving. She did apologize and it is partly the responsibility of patients to arrive on time so drs can treat on time, but based on reviews, it seems timing may be an issue here generally speaking.

I waited 40 minutes past my appointment time to be called back to wait additional time in a room. I found Jessica's annual exam to be hurried and much less through then my past dermatology exams. My next scheduled visit was 8/20/25. After waiting 30 minutes past my appointment I asked at check-in how much longer. I was told both of Jessica's room were occupied and after one was empty, they would have to clean the room before taking me back. I asked if they could give me a time estimate and they said they could not. I told them I couldn't keep waiting indefinitely and had to leave. The check-in person said, okay. No offer was made to reschedule nor was any apology made regarding my time. The practice did not refund the $50 I was charged as a co-pay. I just called their office to request a copy of my records. They said they would email me a release form and once I completed the form, they would work on getting my records for me. I asked how long getting records usually takes and they said they couldn't really tell me as they only had 1 person that pulled records. This practice has zero respect for their patient's time or care. If a practitioner only has two exam rooms to work out of then logic should tell them to schedule accordingly. But, Bluegrass Dermatology chooses to stack patients up in their waiting room and then to rush them through an exam.

I have what I call "old lady rosacea". I'm in my 50s and been fighting skin issues since I hit…read moremenopause. A great deal of redness and breakouts were ever present. The skin on my face had become so painful that it would wake me! I had gotten opinions and prescriptions from my family doctor, Ear Nose and Throat Specialist, OB, and a cosmetologist/ esthetician. I would have minor improvement followed by major set backs. I had decided that it was something that I would just need to ride out. I had an eye issue and my eye doctor suggested I see a dermatologist and gave me the referral to Dermatology Consultants. I was reluctant because I felt like I had tried everything. I thought I would pay $100 for a cream that would not change anything. I am thrilled to say this was a great referral! I am 30 days into treatment and I am seeing great improvement! Dr. James Lagrew has been great and taken time to answer all of my questions and give me insight in to my treatment. I know my issue is a relatively simple one, but at the end of the day I had many other opinions and treatment and no one else had gotten me this far down the path. My 5th star is really for how friendly and efficient the staff is here. I am right in at my appointment time and right out with what I need. I feel like at most other Dr's offices I am there 15 minutes a head of time and I get to see a Dr an hour after my appointment time. This location keeps on a tight schedule.

However, the focus of the visit was primarily on removing a few spots from my face, and my larger skin concerns were not addressed at all. When I attempted to ask questions, Dr. Grossman told there wasn't time to discuss them. While office staff was professional, I found the physician's bedside manner lacking. I did not feel that my concerns were listened to or taken seriously. I understand that physicians have busy schedules, but patients deserve to have their concerns acknowledged and their questions answered. I left the appointment feeling dismissed rather than cared for.
