Craving Mediterranean food and other reviews led us to this spot. Ordered the kebab platter and the beef Achaean's platter. Both came with rice, hummus, salad and pita, ordered a Moroccan tea as well. It was a good meal; however, pita was dry and a little stale, although served warm, meat wasn't as tender as expected, but overall still glad we came. The tea tasted wonderful but I did not understand why I was served in a paper cup vs in a proper tea glass like the other customers? I didn't ask either I just accepted it. My friend and I chose this restaurant because it was close to the hotel ( we are from Miami). He lived in the Middle East for over 5 years and knows exactly what to expect from Middle Eastern cuisine. Daood Basha didn't disappoint. Excellent service, delicious and not pricey food, clean and comfortable... nothing to complain about. The server was kind enough to even give us some tea at the end of the dinner and a typical of the region candy that we enjoyed. My friend said the food in this place is a true representation of what he used to eat while living abroad, and I found it extremely tasty and fresh. We got the family meal for 2-3 people, which came with hummus, pita, salad, and a large plate of rice and assorted meats and vegetables. I purchased the 8 person family meal it mentioned it had meats like chicken steak and more, I was expecting enough food for all of us.But instead there was like 4 pieces of steak 4 pieces of chicken there was only two plates of that. They also said they had a fattoush salad but it was just lettuce tomato and onions. I asked about a glass of water, water is 3.99 i have never seen a restaurant that charges for a glass of water. This is by far the best Mediterranean restaurant I've ever been to. We had the fried cauliflower to start, along with the hummus. Both were divine!!! Our main course was the chicken sharma platter - and it does not get any better than this!! There are lots of places to eat in Orlando, but this needs to be the top of your list. I visited over spring break. I walked into a restaurant packed with tons of people and tables full of food. I asked if I had accidentally walked into a private event. I was reassured i had not and was welcome to join in the buffet. I suspect the buffet was in celebration of ramadan. It all looked amazing as if someone's grandmother had been cooking all day! I explained we just needed a small bite and were offered a menu to select from. Since all the indoor and outdoor tables were full, we were offered a seat in the hookah lounge next door. We wanted to have the chicken shawarma but they did not have any left We ordered the chicken kababs, falafel, and fatoosh salad. It was all delicious! The falafel was some of the best I have ever had. My only critique would be the kababs should have been served with garlic sauce (instead of tahini) and the crispy bits in the fatoosh had gone soggy.
