Spring rolls and steamed dumplings came
    Stephanie E.

Stopped in for lunch today and tried a few different menu items. Their steamed dumplings came with a delicious gyoza sauce, they had plenty of filling, and a wonderful texture! The spring rolls were very ok. I love spring rolls, but the shrimp taste in their rolls was really overpowering and there was a really strong herbal flavor. The Bun Bo Hue was spectacular! The broth was flavorful and not overly spicy. There was tons of sliced beef and they bring you a plate of herbs and bean sprouts to add. Our server was very attentive and helpful. She came back to our table several times to see if we were doing ok. The food came out really quickly as well. The restaurant itself is quiet and vibrantly decorated with pictures of menu items in the wall. We will come back again for sure!

    Lemongrass Chicken with Vermicelli noodles
    Alex K.

I came here with my spouse during lunch thinking they might have a lunch menu but they don't. I thought the prices were a little high with most things around $17 an entrée. Maybe that's just the norm now. The place was starting to get busy which usually indicates it is a popular and good place to eat. Once we sat down, we were asked what we wanted to drink. After our drinks arrived we were ready to order. The menu was a little hard to read as it is basically a 8.5x11 laminated sheet which combined the Thai on one side and the Chinese and Vietnamese on the other side. We ordered the Vermicelli noodles with lemongrass, usually a favorite I get at Vietnamese restaurants. My spouse ordered the Thai red curry. It took a bit long for our food to arrive but it didn't arrive at the same time either which felt unusual. Portion size for the lemongrass chicken seemed fine. For the red curry it seemed a little small for the expensive price. My noodles were served cold as if from sitting in the fridge. Chicken was lukewarm which made for an awful lunch experience. My spouse's red curry had way too much coconut milk in it. It just wasn't enjoyable. I had the spicy symbol next to mine entree on the menu, but there wasn't any spice to it at all. My spouse said their dish tasted too fatty. Meanwhile the waitress never came back to check on us. There were two waitresses there but none checked on us after dropping off the food at our table. I decided I would do better going home and heating up my lunch so I can eat it hot. We had to start starring at the waitresses until we finally got their attention which they seemed surprised. I will give you this, the waitresses are kind and polite which is nice, but they just weren't attentive and the quality of food was subpar. Due to the miserable lunch experience I won't be coming back nor will I recommend this place. I will give them credit for having a nice ambiance which included hand painted walls with Asian scenery. They also have some outside seating so you can bring your pet to the table. Finally, I noticed they do a drive thru togo service which is kind of nice. You don't have to leave your car. I had good hopes for this place but it just didn't work out for me.

    Pad Thai???
    Dave T.

Do not eat here. We had the orange chicken which was bad. Definitely the worst I've ever had. And we got their pad Thai which was unrecognizable and completely inedible. The only flavor was citric acid. I don't even understand how it could be so far off. Not sure how this place is in business. It shouldn't be.

Food/Taste/Flavor: 4/5 - ordered two pho dishes. #11 of Pho Xe Lua (extra large bowl) with steak, brisket, tendon, tripe, and meatball. #12 of Pho Tai (regular bowl) with slices of beef steak. The protein was a bit skimpy for the extra large bowl. For example, the meatballs were sliced into 1/8 but there was at maximum one whole meatball. The soup was tasty but not very clear Ambience: 5/5 - radio was playing fairly loudly from just one speaker by the counter. Store is brightly lit and decorated with a full wall mural of a lake scene. Service: 5/5 - slight language barrier but very polite Value for price: 4/5 - food was good and price was reasonable

    General Tsos Chicken

Tastes frozen. I ordered general tso's chicken and the chicken was grossly overcooked while the eggroll tasted freezerburnt, Was excited to try the spot out but won't be back.

My favorite Vietnamese food in Tucson in terms of the food itself…read more My favorites here: #16 Seasoned Julienned taro root with vermicelli noodles, pickled daikon and the typical vietnamese herbs etc and sweet soy sauce. It comes with fried tofu typically but they let you exchange the tofu with a couple of their delicious vietnamese crispy rice paper egg rolls that are stuffed with deliciously seasoned tofu (#14 on the menu) and that's my favorite way to order it. Mixing all of it together is heaven. This is by far my favorite here! I find that I generally really like taro- all parts of the plant! The root as served in this restaurant and in Thai desserts, the leaves in filipino laing and the stalk (elephant ear stalk) in vietnamese Canh Chua soup. #20 Fried rice noodles dish (ask for the crispy option!) . This one became quite expensive recently but when I had it in the past it was delicious. Definitely get the crispy version! #14: Those vietnamese crispy rice paper egg rolls that are stuffed with deliciously seasoned tofu are so good. They let you get them a la carte but the full plate comes with the sauce and herbs. I get them as part of #16 as described above so it has the sauce and herbs in that dish as well. I really love that they have a vegetarian and vegan menu and that they have the vegan sweet soy sauce available in place of fish sauce for that menu. The restaurant is attached to Lee Lee international supermarket which is an absolute must visit in my opinion for international food lovers and people who want to learn about world cuisines. It's a great place to find international ingredients that are not easily found elsewhere. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! There are several different condiments, extra napkins, and utensils already on the table for your convenience. Our food arrived quickly and both items had such depth of flavor! The rice noodles with scallion oil came with onions wrapped in beef and grilled, something we had never tried before but were just as good as it sounds. The pho broth also clearly had been simmering for hours. It was dark and rich in flavor while the veggies were still crisp and fresh. For living in central Tucson, this place is definitely worth the 20 minute drive!

Finally found my people…read more Walking in here honestly felt like a little hub of my Vietnamese culture. Easily the most Vietnamese I've seen in a crowd at a restaurant in Tucson, which says a lot about the authenticity. I ordered the veggie pho and it absolutely hit the spot. Clean, flavorful broth, fresh toppings, and that comforting "pho therapy" vibe you just can't fake. The menu has great variety (hello boba options ), and everything felt casual, welcoming, and community-driven. If you're craving legit Vietnamese comfort food -- especially good pho with real flavor -- this one's worth the stop. I'll definitely be back.

My first experience was when my best friend door dashed me an order on my birthday when I was sick. Let me tell you the Phô hits the spot when you're not feeling well. I have stopped in two other times and both have been great experiences. The large Phô was more than enough to fill me up. (6'3", 250), added with a boba tea made my experience that much more enjoyable. Now, for those who are concerned about MSG, take the time to do a little research. It's about as rare as celiac disease.... Everyone claims to have it. Can it be an intolerance, sure as with anything, but our body uses sodium physiologically and the other part is an amino acid that naturally occurs as well. That amino acid is derived from vegetables. So I call BS, but whatever. Monosodium glutamate (MSG) and sodium chloride (NaCl, table salt) differ primarily in their chemical structure and sodium concentration. MSG is a salt of sodium and glutamic acid (an amino acid) containing ~12-14% sodium, while NaCl is a compound of sodium and chloride containing ~39-40% sodium. MSG provides umami taste, whereas NaCl provides saltiness.  Key Chemical Differences: Chemical Formula and Structure: NaCl: A simple ionic compound, with a cubic crystal structure. MSG: A salt of glutamic acid. (monosodium glutamate hydrate), which contains a sodium ion and a glutamate molecule. Sodium Content: MSG has roughly two-thirds less sodium by weight compared to table salt. Production/Source:NaCl: Obtained through mining or evaporation of seawater.MSG: Produced through the fermentation of starches, sugar beets, or sugarcane. Flavor Profile: NaCl provides a purely salty taste. MSG triggers the umami (savory) taste receptor, enhancing flavor without high sodium levels. Appearance: Both are white, crystalline, but MSG crystals are often longer/prismatic (like "mini snowflakes") while table salt is often granular or cubic.  Impact in Cooking:While both enhance flavor, they function differently. MSG adds savory depth (umami), while salt provides salinity. Due to lower sodium levels, MSG is sometimes used to reduce total sodium intake in food, providing savory flavor without excessive sodium.  So Newton Pho.... Keep serving up your yummy goodness. I appreciate it!!!

It's not going to be the best you ever had in your life, and if you've been to Southern China, you're not going to be blown away. HOWEVER, it is the homemade taste that makes it good. It doesn't feel like any other restaurant, it feels like you are at somebody's house. Here's the thing, I came in expecting the usual Chinese food affair, but I left genuinely surprised and impressed. This restaurants specializes in Southern Chinese food, which is different from other regions. I am so happy this restaurant and its chains helps the cuisine gain exposure and adds depth to Chinese food in general. Even better, the menu is laid out in a way that it is easy to understand: gluten-free options, allergies, and spice level. The service was great. All though it isn't a "full" sit-down restaurant, everybody there seemed to know the menu well and was happy to be there. As a Cantonese person, it was nice hearing my language being spoken in the kitchen. The restaurant itself was immaculately clean and very modern. We came during early dinner time so the parking lot was near empty and easy to park. Overall, if you've never had Southern Chinese food or are looking for something more authentic than classic Chinese takeaway, definitely check out this location. The cherry on top are the big portion sizes and the price.
