I usually get the beef pho here but I wanted to try other non soupy noodles, so I had a flight: rice vermicelli with grilled pork, seafood chow mein Vietnamese style, and chicken pad Thai. The vermicelli is light and cooling, with lots of fresh herbs and vegetables along with tasty grilled pork. The chow mein is fried crunchy noodles with a thick sauce. The pad Thai has a tangy flavor. All 3 are different and totally tasty. I called ahead and pickup the order in the drive thru window... In my shorts and flip flops. No need to get out of the car and that's perfect for those hot summer months. read more

Avoid this place at all cost and save your money. I ordered the shrimp fried rice with 2 veggie eggrolls and a iced tea. total came out to about $21. Not terrible. Typical price for a meal. Very , very disappointed with the taste and flavor of the fried rice. Almost Zero flavor or taste. No salt. no type of seasoning. Which might be ok if youre a 70 year old geezer watching their sodium intake/ diet. Egg rolls were okay. Not great. but better tasting than the fried rice. This place has a huge menu. Which is a bad sign because the more food choices, the worse quality the food will be. If a restaurant has a short, but plump menu, you can expect the ingredients to be quality. This place has thai, chinese, and vietnamese. with about 20-30 options for EACH type of the ethnic categories. i waited about 15 minutes for my order and was tremendously disappointed. Only visit this place if you have low expectations as a human individual. If you like cheap, cliché "chinese food" then this place is for you because youre an idiot. This was the worst Thai food experience we have ever had. The Thai Tea was good. The egg rolls were bland. The Pad Thai was inedible--way, way too sour. We complained and were told that the chef said they use Tamarind and no vinegar, as if that mattered in terms of how sour it was. We were charged full price for something we did not eat. It was pretty much $35 for two teas and two egg rolls. We will never return. That was the angriest I've ever been about a restaurant. read more

Fast service, a huge variety of different types of food. Some thing for everyone. We had the pho and spring rolls. Sorry no pictures today we ate too quickly. But the spring rolls are excellent because they're so fresh and they have chopped lettuce inside so it's not just all noodles. What can I say the pho is fabulous. I had mine low-carb and it had lotslot of crunchy veggies in it:?cabbage and broccoli, and a rich and flavorful broth. Also, while sitting there we saw wonderful curries and pad Thai's been delivered to other tables, definitely a place and some thing on the menu for everyone in the family! read more

Inexpensive, average Asian restaurant. My husband got the rice with grill pork, very little meat so that was a disappointment. My plate was the tofu and veggies which was great. Honestly, this is just a grub and go kinda restaurant by the hospital. Fast service and inexpensive food. Just wish some of the dishes portion size were bigger. Dinner post pandemic is definitely different. The food is even better now that we can eat in the restaurant! Missed a picture of the basil chicken which my wife had and it was so good! The Pho was tasty. The seafood curry was sweet and plenty of seafood pieces. Orange chicken had large chunks of chicken plenty filling. The place was clean and plenty of social distancing. I used to recommend this place to friends and family years ago, but never again. This was the first time I'd been back since 2019 and the service and food has drastically declined. To start, the man next to me ordered just a spring roll appetizer and found something unidentifiable in his food. The waitress didn't even know what it was, and walked around after he'd stormed out showing it to the other employees trying to figure out what it was. That was the first red flag. My father and I just wanted to have a nice meal somewhere we had both once loved, as we do not get to spend much quality time anymore. We both got essentially the same thing, Bun. His was with tofu, and mine was with shrimp. Our Bun was in the same state; Frozen noodles, weeks old and rotten lettuce, which vastly outnumbered the amount of noodles. My shrimp was burnt to a crisp (black and powdery all over) and when I began to stir it the black power exploded into the rest of the dish making it uneatable. Not that I planned on eating it before with the state of everything else. Of course the state of a food is extremely important. But I'd also like to speak about the cleanliness of the facility. As my family member and I waited for her to process our card (we didn't eat a bite of the food, but out of respect, didn't cause a scene and still paid) a group of homeless folks came into the facility barefoot asked for water. It seemed to me this happened quite frequently as the moment they came through the door the staff was already preparing their water. I have nothing against the homeless and have compassion for their situation. However I feel like this may speak measures to the state of this facility. From the barefoot group, to the mysterious items in the man's spring rolls, and finally our rotten food..... I think you may know what I'm getting at. So, we left hungry and in search of somewhere else. I hope that if you do choose to go to this facility you have a better experience that we had. And that they improve on the quality of their service and food. read more

Up to this point we have always been fully satisfied with this restaurant. Our visit today was a big disappointment. The shrimp fried rice was bland with just a hint of egg, three green peas, and six tasteless shrimp. The rice almost tasted like minute rice. The pho was good but much smaller than in the past. Even the mango boba was a disappointment. The boba was clumped and hard with not even a hint of mango flavor. I'm sad to post this, but I hope it will be an alert to the owner that we want your flavor and quality to come back. We are willing to pay more knowing how costs have increased for businesses but we don't want to pay more for unsatisfactory food. The service as usual was friendly and quick. read more

This has to be the worst "Thai" and "Vietnamese" food I have ever had. The spring rolls were tasteless. Even the peanut sauce was awful. The pad Thai was somehow completely acidic. Server said that's how they make. It was not edible. Basil chicken again inedible. Huge chunks of hard chicken. Chicken pho has no taste. None! No salt, no broth, no flavor. Just hot water. Bahn mi dry and very hard to chew. It was thrown out. This place should be shut down for the awful food and ridiculous prices. read more

Was disappointed when I visited Dao's north location on 1st. I decided to order take out from the Wilmot location and it did not disappoint. It definitely made up for my bad experience at the other location. I ordered a 13a chicken and veggie Pho. The broth was delicious. Will be frequenting this location from now on. read more

Previously I've come here twice for boba. They have a limited menu (about a dozen flavors and only the standard black boba) but the drinks are reliably good - thick but well blended and sweetly flavorful. I'm a big fan of their mango boba. I've since glanced at the menu a few times and they have dedicated Chinese, Vietnamese, and Thai dishes. I was finally able to try this restaurant's food and I was delighted by the entire experience. We were seated upon entering, our order was taken as soon as we put the menus down, and food came out no more than five minutes later. The waiter was so friendly, I almost wanted to invite him to sit with us. We started with the fried chicken gyoza (must try!). My fiancee had the chicken pad thai, my brother-in-law had rice noodles pho, and I got the grilled pork rice dish. I also got a fried egg on the side. They both wolfed their meals like they hadn't eaten in days. I highly recommend the grilled pork which was slightly sweet and not too lean. It also came with a side of broth and salad. Portions were neither too small nor too large. We finished our meals without wanting for more or feeling uncomfortable stuffed. The bill came out to a little over $55. Tucson is not known for good Asian food, but this is about as good as it gets in this town. Definitely bookmark Dao Thai Pan, if not just for boba. read more

Now my wife's favorite lunch spot. This is really three restaurants in one, featuring separate and distinct Vietnamese, Thai, and Chinese food menus. I have not yet figured out what the prevailing style is, but the Vietnamese food we've ordered so far seems representative of our basic experience, while the Chinese seems different. We have not tried any dishes from the Thai menu. Clearly more research is needed. Dining room is simple, comfortable, and very bright, with lots of windows, but set back from the street. There is some outdoor seating -- very limited -- but shaded and pleasant. Staff is very friendly. Lots of regulars, judging by the familiarity between staff and clientele. read more

This is my first time here. I was immediately greeted and told I could sit anywhere after which I was brought a cup of water. The menu had Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai food to choose from. I ordered the #1 (shrimp and pork spring rolls) and #23 (noodle bowl with grilled chicken and fried pork egg rolls) From the Vietnamese menu. Both were good. The restaurant was pretty clean - just some food particles left under the tables here and there. All the table tops were very clean. I come here for the bobba tea and fried fish / pho depending on the mood. They're not the best of any of those, but they're SUPER nice and always on top of service! I definitely keep coming back just because of the service and not necessarily of the food, but what I get is usually good. From the Thai menu, I ordered the seafood hot 'n sour soup & @$17.99 it was overpriced & had very little real seafood. A tiny amount of small shrimp & scallops, 2 mussels, but far too much imitation crab. The lime leaves, slices of galanga, and pieces of lemongrass were good for flavor, but inedible. Pho, the magic elixir that cures all. And they do it right at Dao's. I've always been a big fan of pho and have tried numerous Vietnamese restaurants for that cure-all bowl of deliciousness but keep coming back to Dao's as I have found none better. The broth is clean and light and my absolute favorite is the 12C - thin slices of beef and fresh vegetables. And to be perfectly honest, my five star rating is for the pho because I really have no desire to eat anything else when I'm there. Dao's can get really busy during the lunch hour and all the tables fill up. The servers are pleasant and fairly quick. My perfect lunch hour is getting a table under one of the ceiling fans (I get hot when I eat my pho!), a big steaming bowl of 15C and a green apple boba afterwards. I just love that they have a drive up window at Dao's and that I can take pho home on occasion. The broth comes in a nice styrofoam container separate from the ingredients of rice noodles, raw beef and veggies. The basic condiment plate of Asian basil, cilantro, bean sprouts, limes and jalapenos is included as well as a small container of sauce that is the perfect blend of Sriracha and hoisin sauce. If you've never tried pho, you're missing out. And if you've never tried the pho at Dao's, you're TRULY missing out. read more

Friendly service and great food. They are the only place I know in Tucson that serves Banh Cuon. This is a traditional Vietnamese dish. If you are Vietnamese, you had eaten it many times at home. It wasn't the absolute best, but did it's job at satisfying my cravings. Vietnamese egg rolls and spring rolls are great as well. They also offer Chinese and Thai dishes. After many years of driving by this place I'm always wondering why the parking lot and the restaurant were so busy we finally stop and try it. It's very convenient from the order via phone and pick up at the drive-through. The prices are so so. The quality of the food was horrible! I ordered the house fried rice had no flavor the color was off meaning no soy sauce or no hue to it. The Orange chicken Just taste it like fried chicken with a bunch of dough and a little bit of chicken the white rice was bland and overcooked the sauce for the Orange chicken just tasted like juice. Came through here the other night to grab some takeout. Food took a little while than expected due to a rush of business---Makes sense, 6pm on a Friday night. I got the pad Thai chicken and my friend had the beef fried rice. I was pretty, pretty, prettyyyy satisfied with the pad Thai, and my friend was blown away by the beef dish. This restaurant will not serve you up to closing time. Got there within 12 minutes of closing for a bowl of soup. Was chased out! It sad to see restaurants do this... So I decided to go back and try them. This time I went thru their drive-thru window got a soup after 25 minutes and $15.95! The soup was full of dried ginger and twigs.
