So far we've had some fantastic pho (my son stated that it's the best pho he's had & he's a 15 y/o pho snob), perfectly crisp & yummy crab puffs that are served with perfect sweet and sour sauce (the lighter pink stuff), such good Mongolian beef, pad thai that was dynamite, and a few boba teas. The fried rice was made with vegall and no fresh vegetables. The fresh spring roll was also skimpy on vegetables. There was ice berg lettuce and a four inch piece of green scallion top that was too tough to chew - no carrots, no cucumbers and it only came with a very bland peanut sauce. I am from out of town and stopped in for Spring Rolls. They were flavorless including the peanut sauce. It was disappointing.

I frequent the Wilmot location and always order the same food. This time, I was in the area so I tried this location instead. First, my to go order was stacked top-heavy, with the soup on the bottom. If I drove away with it like that, as soon as I made a turn the top containers would fall over and take the soup with it. P.S. I asked for a 2nd bag to pack them separately. I ordered the pho with rare beef and vegetables and paid two buck extra to make it a large. When I got home and opened the package, it had less meat than the regular size portion. That's no good especially since I paid extra. We also has shrimp lo mein, which had only 5 very small shrimp. Plenty of noodles, but the shrimp were sad. I will continue to frequent the other location of Wilmot, but cannot recommend this location based on this experience. read more

I've been to this restaurant several times and it never disappoints. I wish this restaurant was on my side of town. I live 14 miles away in the Southwest area of Tucson. Unfortunately, there are no quality Asian restaurants in our area. Today I had the shrimp and pork spring rolls with a delicious peanut sauce as an appetizer. These spring rolls are to die for. They're super fresh and has a nice crunch to it. Best in town! I also had the chicken broccoli. This entrée had a very nice tasting brown sauce with tender pieces of chicken and perfectly semi cooked broccoli with a side of white rice. So good!! (TL;DR Full Price for Half as Nice) Having eaten at both locations and trying multiple dishes between them (Phó, Claypot Chicken, Seafood Curry, Spring Rolls, and Pork Stuffed Chicken Wing) i post a 1 star review not because the food/service/venue is particularly revolting, but solely on the principle that its at the end of the day, a scam. A place can be mediocre enough that a harsh review feels necessary, to steer others away in the hopes that they try better. Because we certainly have better restaurants for each of their dishes and cuisine. The distinction between each asian culinary is almost sacred, so places that claim to do multiple usually and almost always, fails to capture the essence and quality of one let alone multiple (with rare exceptions, including fusions). The quality and quantity of ingredients were lacking in every dish. The most watery peanut sauce ive ever seen/tasted. The weakest Phó broth. Inconsistent temperatures in the same dish. This location doesn't seem to be as good or consistent as the other location on Wilmot. Veggie broth pho soup may sometimes taste like water broth, no flavor. Service is inconsistent as far as quality. Sometimes we get great service, other times, poor. Prices are fair. Tofu Spring rolls are delicious as is lettuce tofu wraps. Ginger and onions make these lettuce cups! These are a bit overpriced. Fried rice lacks big time, I'd avoid at this restaurant. Bobas are good but they add non dairy creamer that includes dairy on ingredient list. Funny. Ask for no creamer added if you want dairy free. They close at 8:00pm but if you arrive after 7:25, they will practically kick you out because they like to leave and lock up right at closing time....Never liked that. read more

Came here on a weeknight for a quick meal. Food was brought out very fast. It was not the most authentic or tasty food, but was filling and fresh. Wait staff was friendly and restaurant was clean. We asked for everything "very spicy" and felt that it was a bit bland. Prices were also on the higher side for the portions. If you come at 7:25 they will ask you if you can finish your food before 8 because that's the time they close and "everyone needs to be out by 8" their food is awesome. Their staff is nice besides being made feel like you're dumb for walking in at 7:25. We've been coming for here for years. And their pho is really good. Okay coming from the other side of town this place here i have been craving , i had it almost two years ago on wilmot by the hospital , so i wanted to try this location. Our server was cool i forgot his name i was sober that night sorry , he was fast a helpful. The food came so fast it was bad ass i hate waiting forever to get the food ! Came out hot and fresh ; We ordered the spring roll both pork and shrimp , decent sizers pretty good im not a mint guy and not used to having mint in them but it was new and not bad ... i do wish the peanut sauce came warm and not cold tho .. Im a big fried rice guy and i give the fried rice a 7-10 i think it could be bigger portioned for a dinner item i finished it so fast i was still a bit hungry . I had some pho which the broth was super good , meat was pretty thin. I didnt ask for the tai on the side so it came pretty cooked in the broth already which wasnt a big deal still bomb. I'm pretty disappointed with the meal we got. I ordered Mongolian Beef and my wife ordered Chicken & Broccoli... and neither one of us got anything close to it. Mongolian Beef had broccoli, carrots, celery - just a variety of weird vegetables... and no onion or green onion. The beef was more along the lines of a Vietnamese sandwich, not Mongolian Beef, and the sauce was a generic and low-flavor watery sauce. This was NOT Mongolian Beef... and we learned of our misfortune once we got home and opened our take-out. Chicken & Broccoli had the same veggies, chicken with a strange texture, and no flavor in the sauce at all. We ate what we could but ended up tossing half of it. It just didn't motivate either of us to want to eat it. Bizarre take on two pretty classic (Americanized) Chinese dishes. Food aside, the staff seemed really friendly and we got service with a smile. The place seemed clean and... unsurprisingly, there was plenty of seating at dinner time when we went in to pick up our food. It's difficult to find decent Asian food in the Tucson area. Coming from Washington State I am an avid lover of Asian food and am always trying to find those restaurants here which have that level of quality. Dao's restaurant is one such place. They offer Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese food dishes. All of their food is on point and they serve their food with a smile on their face along with great customer service. I tried their Pho combo and my boyfriend had their beef pad thai. We also shared a plate of crab puffs, and had a Thai iced bubble tea and mango bubble tea. All around a great experience and I look forward to going back and trying what else they have to offer! read more

We were cautious considering the reviews but are fans of Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese food so we figured we would stop in. We were pleasantly surprised. We know people have talked about inconsistencies and we have only been here once but it was more than enough to convince us to return. First the service was excellent, Edgar was welcoming and attentive and very knowledgeable about the food. The murals on the walls were lovely and the overall decor was much nicer than we expect for a casual restaurant. Everything was clean and well taken care of. We ordered four dishes, and the price was very reasonable for both the quality and portion sizes. We got two meals out of each appetizer and main dish, which was very impressive. They had a selection of boba tea and hot tea, which we both loved. The food itself was impressive, again considered this is a casual dining establishment. The Vietnamese crepe was well seasoned and light. It did need the light sauce it came with, but it was very good overall. The spring rolls were excellent. The shrimp was succulent and dish was very light with the perfect amount of mint and scallion. The peanut sauce was not necessary, but enhanced the dish. Our entrees were the Pad Thai, and Garlic and Peppers Chicken in Clay Pot. The Pad Thai was solid; it needed a little brightness perhaps from basil, or the addition of a little vinegar (or more lime) but tasty nonetheless. The Clay Pot Chicken was the real star--it was perfectly balanced with a nice heat and bite that kept you wanting to eat more. Overall a very yummy dish that we would order again. The combination of good food, good price, and good service makes this place a pick. We plan to come back and try more of the variety of dishes available and will update our review. read more

We are from out of town and wanted to try Vietnamese food while in Tucson. None of the restaurants were open for dine-In except for this one. We had to take a temperature test before sitting down. Customer service was great and very attentive. Food was just OK. Bun Bo Hue broth was good but the noodles was too soft. Pho broth was decent but noodles was hard and there was very little meat. The popcorn chicken is very bland and too breaded. Portion size is small so it wasn't fulfilling. Overall decent food but not worth the money. Great service though! read more

Holy cannoli the staff who took our order was the sweetest, most cheerful, funny, encouraging Thai woman I have ever met! I mentioned wanting to visit Thailand and she told me it is the land is smiling people and that I had a big smile and would fit right in! As I watched my food cooking in the kitchen flames flew high at the chefs command. I excitedly ordered the pan fried dumplings, pork banh mi, and tofu pad thai. The dumplings were cooked perfectly with one side pan fried, melting in my mouth. The banh mi was enchanting and left me breathless. Pork cooked with divine flavors, bread crispy and soft all at once, jalapeños firm and HOT, fresh daikon and carrots as tradition calls for. What an affordable sandwich with a huge payout in flavors and satisfaction. The pad thai noodles were beautiful and the flavors of sweet and tangy were well balanced, enhanced by a squeeze of lime. Served with bean sprouts and carrots added a variety of crunch. The table is graced with a house made chili sauce, hoisin, sriracha, and soy sauce added the extra punch a flavor fan like me desires. We stopped by here on a weekday for lunch. My guest wanted to try Pho Tai Gan with a side of Bo Vien ( beef balls) while I opted for Crispy Seafood Chow Mein. During the cold season, you can ask for blanched bean sprouts to keep the Pho hot long enough. My chow mein was good with a tasty sauce. (I think i've seen this location change businesses about 5-6 times since I've moved here) Two others ordered pho and said it was better than Miss Saigon (at least the Ina location). I ordered the Bun Cha Gio Thit Nuong (#22). A bowl of thin rice noodles with veggies, grilled pork, and a (pork?) spring roll that had been chopped up. It was a lot of food for $7.99 and the dipping sauce/pour-in(?) sauce was a good combination of sweet and salty and very necessary to the dish. I haven't had much Thai food so I'm not sure how it's supposed to be eaten. But it was tasty, not too heavy, and didn't skimp on any component. The nice old ladies that serve you are very friendly and prompt and will explain anything on the menu. Very nicely decorated inside, could probably do without the Billboard 100 music in the background. Overall, a good lunch with very good lunch specials. Will come back to try the boba tea. read more

We were really disappointed with this place last night. We're regular customers at lunch time, but decided to go for dinner yesterday. Their sign says they close at 8:00 p.m., and we arrived at 7:40 p.m. When we walked in they told us they were only doing take out because they were closing in 15 minutes. That really frosts me; if you're open until 8:00 p.m., I would expect you to serve me until 8:00 p.m. If you want to turn off the "open" sign while I'm there, okay - but be open until 8:00 p.m. if you're advertising that.
