Great haircut by Stan. The shave is incredible: 4-5 stages of fresh, hot towels combined with face scrub, beard lube, shaving cream, and aftershave cream. It was a bit of a drive from my house but I wanted someone who was not only professional but ran a classy shop. Well, that's exactly what you're going to get with Dapper. Lazer, the owner, took my idea and ran with it. It may seem common to you but, for someone who hasn't had much hair for 10 years, I didn't want to look stupid nor get stuck with a hair cut that looked rediculous. Earlier this evening I had this displeasure of witnessing a very uncomfortable situation between the owner of this shop and one of it's employees. I was in there with a friend and watched the owner consistently degrade and belittle one of the barbers in the shop over minor differences in opinion. Please note: we have been to this shop multiple times and there is regular employee turnover. Every single thing that the barber did had a comment that followed, every move he made, the owner had something nasty to say. Shane was doing exactly what his client asked for, and the owner (Stan?) was rude and outspoken in front of a full shop. We have used this shop for quite some time but this was enough to have us not go back. Ok so tried dapper cuts today for the first time .im super picky with barbers and haven't really been able to find a place where I felt comfortable since moving out to Long Island from queens a couple of years ago . So I basically just stopped cutting my hair all together .Met lazer today and he's really good dude and I usually don't like any one . My haircut was amazing but doesn't stop there . I haven't let anyone give me a straight razor shave (hot shave ) in years . It was the best hot shave I've ever had . Service was amazing . My first time walking into Dapper Cuts and I can see this is a very clean, very professionally run barber shop. The shop is nicely decorated. Every barber greeted me when I walked in. The owner Lazer sat me in his chair and right away I knew this was going to be my new barber for life. I just got that vibe. He takes his job very serious while at the same time sparking a conversation (not overly talkative) and getting to know you. Cool guy, very down to earth. Lazer, the owner, cut my hair and did a perfect job. The staff is personable and made me feel like I've known them for years. I'm very picky when it comes to barbers. I moved to Island Park from Queens a year ago and was not able to find a barber that was the complete package until now. Lazer is great!! He asked you what style you're going for and explains everything he does to get you there. He also lets you know what will work and what won't and what to do for the next session to get the style you want. Also, his Hot Towel Shave is the best I've ever had hands down!! He uses 4 hot towels at different intervals with eucalyptus and different facial oils to get a Clean Close shave.
