Luke and Kya Jones were called to diagnose our garage refrigerator/freezer problem. Amazing in that they were able to come look at things the very day I called. Luke quickly evaluated and determined the unit had a refrigerant problem that would require an unrealistic repair cost. Time to throw away the 1 1/2 year old unit. After restoring everything back the way it was, I was asked if there were any other appliance issues in the house. I remarked about our underperforming GE Cafe dishwasher. Luke looked it over and quickly determined that an upper rack position adjustment mattered in how the washing water was directed so that it should improve the cleaning performance of the upper rack area of the unit. Simple fix on something we have lived with for years. These things were done for a single service charge. One thing I feel reasonably sure of after all this, Luke knows what he is talking about. Thank you Kya for helping make Luke's job easier. Too bad about the disposable nature of a nice Maytag refrigerator/freezer. read more

Called Dapper Dad because my GE side-by-side was not holding the correct temperature in the freezer or the refrigerator part. This fridge has been great through the years. Made the appointment on a holiday weekend - they were the first to respond. Came out on time - Luke did a great job of explaining the problem, gave me the diagnosis and an estimate. I have a 3 yr old, Maytag, all bells and whistles, "computerized" washer that just died...no other way to put it. Luke & Kya came out within a short reasonable time to fix it. Diagnosis, control board bad, needs to be replaced. Luke explained everything with great detail, but not too much, so that I understood everything. Upon my request Luke ordered the new control board & installed it, all in a very timely manner. Upon installation he had to do some programming stuff. During this time Luke & Kya were very professional & friendly, I really enjoyed having them here. Later I tried to use the washer & it "got stuck" in the spinning cycle (would not stop spinning). They came back out to see what was wrong & according to internet info, which he looked up, I HAD to download the Maytag app to update the software. grrr, have I said how much I hate these "new/improved computerized...EVERYTHING!" Anyway, Luke promptly & efficiently downloaded the app to my phone & updated the software. It seemed like all was working great. A few days later, that weekend, I used the washer & it appeared to still not be right...the display would show it was in the rinse cycle & although there was a little water in the tub (not enough to cover clothes) it just sort of didn't do anything else. Then when it FINALLY worked it's way through the rinse cycle it went into the spin cycle. Again, it just didn't seem to be doing right...after 4 minutes of showing it was in the spin cycle, but it didn't spin, it did finally spin out. Maybe it's the timer that is not calibrated? It took the display timer 3-4 actual minutes for 1 minute to pass on the washer display board. Anyway, I was frustrated & left text msgs for Luke of what was going on. I did mention that it seemed the new control board was not working properly & suggested that perhaps they could return it for a refund...refund my cost for it so I could go buy another (probably used but less computerized) washer. (I was tired of dealing with the "computerized" component). Monday a.m. I received a call from Luke telling me that he would refund a specific amount of my money back by check which he would put in the mail to me & "be done with it". Ok, although he was very pleasant, but firm, in telling me this I got the distinct impression that when he said "be done with it", he was in essence saying he didn't want to deal with me anymore. I mentioned the idea of sending the replacement back as faulty for refund & he told me that he would take that up with his supplier & that didn't involve me. Now it's been awhile since I purchased "repair parts" for anything, but I'm pretty sure you have to send back the faulty part before you can get refunded/replacement, which he did not ask for. This also told me he wasn't as concerned about fixing the problem as he was "to be done with it"/me. I was surprised & taken back, I wouldn't have expected that attitude from him as he had always been very pleasant & willing to be helpful. I would've given this business a raving 5 star review except for the way they handled the last part. Pity, I was really looking forward to having a long lasting relationship with them, when needed. read more
