So my outside unit wasn't shutting off , but the inside unit was. I texted Allan and he said to…read moregive it a little tap on the top and see if it would shut off.. It didn't... He said how about Tuesday early AM for a visit. I said great! Sunday morning... the unit finally shut off... But the house had started to warm up to 81 degrees... Ya.. It shut off sometime overnight and never came back on.. Upon taking his advice to give it a little tap I gave it a little tap and it rattled on and started cooling.. Crisis adverted... He showed up on Tuesday and took a look at the unit and sure enough the relay in the unit was toast. He replaced it, cleaned out the rest of the unit and here I am in a comfy 70 degree house enjoying a working AC unit! Asked him other questions to make sure I wouldn't get hosed in the next few years and he answered every question. Great guy, knew a friend of mine (small world), and even better.... BOOOMMMEERR SOOONNNEEERRR! (he's an ou fan like me.. ) Give him a shout!

I had two experiences with AB Service Company…read more The first was fair; there was a blown capacitor in my mother's house, and the repair was completed with costs that were within expectations. The second interaction was disappointing. Below is a paraphrased transcript. Me: Thank you for visiting my mother's house, what was the problem? AB: The entire unit needs to be replaced including the furnace. Me: The entire unit? AB: Yes, the unit is over forty years old and none of the parts are available on the market. Me: The house was built in 1986, so the unit can't be older than 31 years old. AB: Well, it's still ancient. Me: What's not working? AB: The fan unit is shot. Me: But the compressor and rest of the system still functions? Are you sure we can't find another one? AB: Nope, it has to be complete job, over $6,000. No other way. Me: Thanks for letting me know. After another phone call to another repair shop, a $25 transformer was replaced along with two hours of labor fixing the diagnostics that were done previously. That convinced me that should I need future HVAC services, I will go elsewhere.

Will is a good communicator and has an amazing array of skills which emanate from his Education and Experience. Preface: I live in a 47yr old home that is almost entirely original. When it comes to trades, I'm also a helicopter homeowner and generally a bit of a micromanager. Will replaced 3 light fixtures, a ceiling fan, a venthood, restored function-electricity to 2 outlets & one hardwired site, replaced front storm door, and added handle to said storm door. He answered all my questions, addressed all my concerns and made recommendations, ex: Response - wrapping because wires are brittle, need consider new wiring. No dilly dallying with Will. He stays on task and focused. I gave Will a very detailed list of tasks-items and he gave me a time estimate for completing them with the caveat that nothing unusual came up. That timeline was dead on. He is structured in his pricing-estimates. His pricing was very reasonable. I will most certainly use Will's skills (had to say it) repeatedly for this original 47yr old house.

The parts were ordered, and after waiting approximately two weeks, they returned and completed the repair. After the technician left, I started a load of laundry. The dryer began heating up and then shut itself off completely. I contacted Mr. Appliance again and, after some back-and-forth, they scheduled another visit about a week later. The same technician returned, performed another diagnostic, and this time told me the main control board was bad and would be very expensive to replace. At that point, I decided not to invest any more money into the dryer since replacing the board would cost nearly as much as purchasing a new appliance. What concerns me is that I paid for parts and repairs that ultimately did not solve the problem. If the main board was the actual issue, I would have expected that to be identified during the initial diagnosis before spending money on other repairs. I contacted the office and politely requested consideration for a partial refund. I was not asking for a full refund, only some acknowledgment that the original repair did not resolve the problem. Instead, I was met with resistance, and when I asked to speak with a manager, I was told they would check availability and then the call was ended. The most disappointing part of this experience was not the failed repair--it was the lack of customer service afterward. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company.

Only one or two times, over the years, have we not come back and purchased the appliance from this place. Our induction cooktop still works after 10 years and this place had the best deal for the exact cooktop we wanted. The cooktop had faulty wiring when installed and Appliance Solutions helped us work with the manufacturer to get a replacement, free of charge. Washers and dryers have all been great and Appliance Solutions has had the best prices on those over the years as well. Installations have been easy and done well. Carting off old appliances has also been an easy task when using Appliance Solutions. Our absolutely awful Frigidaire Gallery appliances, purchased at a competitor, we are still salty about. But that is our absolutely sh*t "contractor's" doing. He is the worst but Appliance Solutions is the best!

I have purchased two appliances from Appliance Solutions. A front load washer in 2020 and a front…read moreload dryer in 2023. The sales folks are always extremely helpful and easy to deal with. I have needed 2 service calls for a leaky washer, both under warranty so they didn't cost me anything. The first service guy came out and didn't really inspect the washer or run it. He just said there was dog hair on the seal that I needed to keep cleaned off. Granted there were about 20 dog hairs on the seal, which I thought was ridiculous if that kept the seal from functioning on a $900 washer. But I took his word for it and cleaned the seal thoroughly after every load. Didn't help. About a year later I had enough of the leaking and called out another service guy, Matt. Matt went through the effort of running a cycle to watch what was happening and immediately discovered two major tears in the seal, a much more reasonable explanation! He fixed that after the part came in and I have had no problems since. Thanks Matt! From a delivery/install stand point, the first delivery (a front load washer) was by Jose. He had a bit of an attitude because he wasn't expecting to have to place the washer on pedestals, but after I showed him the work order, where this request was clearly written out at time of sale, he calmed down a bit and did a nice job of installing. It would have been nice if he had read the delivery orders ahead of time and refrained from giving a customer attitude. The second installation (front load dryer) was this year, by Jay, who did a wonderful job with communication, installation, and delivery. Overall, I'd give 5 stars for sales, 5 stars for Matt in service and Jay in delivery, and 4 stars for the first service guy (for a bit of laziness in not really assessing the leak) and 4 stars for Jose due to some unnecessary attitude. I wish there were a 4.5 star rating on Yelp but there isn't. I rounded up to a 5, because my overall experience was better than 4. I will definitely use Appliance Solutions again as the two negative issues I had are easily corrected with a little bit of coaching to specific staff members for professionalism.
