I recently moved to Costa Mesa and hated the fact that I needed to say good bye to my old barber. He had been cutting my hair for the last 5-6 years. It's always a risk to find a new barber and often times it takes multiple visits to different spots to find someone you like and appreciate. Was fortunate enough to call and get an appointment that same day with Freddy. The shop is clean and the atmosphere is what I was used to at my old spot. Everyone in the shop was friendly and created conversation. Was offered a beverage upon arrival. Freddy was able to understand what I asked for with my fade and beard trim and line up. I'm not sure how this place has 5 stars. this was the worst experience I've ever had at a barber shop. I specifically called ahead of time to see if they could do a New York style taper with a line up and I was told they specialized in lines and perfection. After reading all these 5 star reviews i chose to go with G. When I got there he didn't show any customer service he started to do the job before even asking what I wanted, I had to stop him. After I gave him specifics he completely ruined my line up, not only is it uneven on each side, he only trimmed the sides not the back, then he proceeds to spray paint on the hair lines to make it look even. is this a joke? in all the barber shops I ever been to I've never been sprayed, none of the other barbers used spray I noticed. even with the spray the lines were still uneven. he was rushed the entire time and didn't say one word. not a way to try to gain new customers. They charge you $11 to hold the apt, then $ 65 for haircut and straight razor. this is more than other barber shops I've gone to and not even worth it if they payed me. I will never be back, maybe the other guys do a better job but do not go to G if you care about how your hair looks because you will have to wait until your hair grows in to be able to fix it. Very disappointed not even worth one star. read more

Wow! Thank you G! My daughter had her heart set on a Namaari haircut (from a Disney movie) and the kid cut place we went first basically refused to do it and gave her a lop sided bob instead. I took her to G for a redo and he was amazing! Not only did he respect what she wanted without question, but he is an artist and a total perfectionist.
