AVOID. Five guys slouched like a decorative lawn ornament collection on a Saturday, radiating a unified "please don't make us work" energy. Door wide open, online hours wrong, and the extent of their customer service was handing me a business card -- truly a "how can I not help" you effort. Lazy, bad vibes, zero interest in your money. My boys always look amazing after getting their hair l cut here . I will say not every dude in this shop is good with kids but we really like Davis . This was my first visit to Dapper Street 2 Barber Shop on Haygood Road, and it won't be my last visit there. For the last year, I had been lucky enough to have Jake cut my hair at another location. After he left that business, it took me a while to find him again. He is phenomenal. Before finding the man with the magic hands again, I had been subjected to several bad cuts. He took the last bad haircut and the beard that had grown out haphazzardly and transformed my look into a classic cut that balances the hair and the beard to now make presentable to society. Thanks to Jake I know no longer look like a homeless person. As I was waiting for Jake to finish the previous customer, I saw some terrific cuts from Tyree, Davis, and Andy. You can't go wrong with any of the barbers in this shop. I really enjoyed the banter among the barbers. The laid back vibe and colorful conversations make the haircut experience there even better. Jake is a great fit for this real babershop. Jake even offered advice on when to return and what we need to do to get me back to the amazing looks he had created for me in the past. read more

Appointment was easy to make online. However we will not be returning. We brought our boys in (ages 10 and 13), and the atmosphere is NOT kid friendly. There are provocative decor and the conversations of the barbers were inappropriate with kids around. It's one thing for middle schoolers to hear other middle schoolers talking. But when they hear grown adults talking inappropriately they really do think it's okay. We even had our 12 year old daughter wait outside in the car for an hour because it was so uncomfortable. read more

A PHENOMENAL CUT !!! Damn , I'm HANDSOME now ( not before ) I had a Super Kool Guy ISIAH cut and fade my hair and he did a Phenomenal Job !!! Prior to Dapper St. I was in and out of the headmaster's office for my son's behavior. I could not get him to take care of himself. His hair was not a priority to me because it was not a priority to him. Well, after his first haircut with Andy... I have not had a call from the headmaster's office. Wasn't sure what to think initially, with only one review - but then again, I needed a haircut and a new barber (mine retired). Made an appointment online that was super easy, and arrived and Andy was ready for me. My first thought when I walked in was "my kind of people." Since Yelp is family friendly, I'll keep my review that way. However, if you could imagine Vince "Rocco" Vargas, Matt Best, and all their buddies opened a Barber Shop. Very 'Murica feel to it. I got a pretty simple cut, but one of the best I've gotten in a while. And they shaved my neck with a straight razor. It's been a while since I've found a place that does that. Next time I might go for the full straight razor shave, because why not. I will be back. read more

Best haircut I've had in the area. Even beats out GHQ which I used to swear by. Cool guys and definitely a barber shop feel.

Quality isn't much better than a Supercuts. They don't seem to know how to do a scissors cut. Not good for the price.

This place is dope. Great atmosphere and very professional barbers. I've never gotten a tighter fade before. Del was my guy. The only downside is they don't take walk-ins. As such, plan your day/week accordingly. It's definitely worth it. read more

Dapper St has just gone downhill, haircuts are super expensive, It's one of the go to place in va beach but since they have become more busy, they really don't care about customers or people who just come for haircut regularly. I called and told them I will be late 5 minutes due to thunder storm and traffic, when I got their my appointment was cancelled and the guy said come next time. I respectfully replied why he couldn't say it in phone and made me come there, but he wanted to make a point that coming even a bit late means you going to have to pay for it by showing up and being cancelled. If you have Afro hair or curly, they don't know what they are doing. Good luck. read more
