The setup works just as well for small groups as it does for celebrations, making it perfect for birthdays, work outings, or any excuse to have a good time. If you are new to the city or just visiting this is a great way to explore and learn. I've gone for my own birthday, for friends' birthdays, work trip and even just for fun, every single time has been a blast. Note that you have the option to peddle and drink and that the seats are unique and you will need to wear a seatbelt. They do offer to seats on a bench if you would prefer a more riding experience. I happened to find the email the next morning (I don't check it frequently) which gave me less than 20 hours to find a replacement charter. They promised a full refund - it will be mailed in 3-7 business days, 2 weeks later - we can't help what USPS does, 1 month later - we'll have to get the check stopped and rewrite it once the funds are back in our account (uh - the funds never left your account because I didn't get the check!). 4 months later I'm still trying to sue them for my money and they are avoiding service. They are never at the business location and won't answer any of my attempts at phone calls, emails or texts.

It took me awhile to find an affordable wine tour option in the Piedmont/Yadkin area, and Grape Escape delivered exactly what we were looking for. Our driver, Paula, let us make our own vineyard itinerary. She picked us up at 10am on a Saturday, and we visited five vineyards in the Swan Creek area before returning around 6pm. Paula clearly knew all of the vineyards well and was able to make good recommendations at each place. She was friendly with all of the vineyard staff and helped us get a tasting table at each venue, making it a standout experience. My favorite part about our tour is that all of the wine tastings are included in the tour cost, so you don't have to worry about paying at each place. You pay everything up front, and Paula takes care of the rest! We visited Shadow Springs, Windsor Run, Dobbins Creek, Raffaldini, and Piccione vineyards. Out of the five, I highly recommend incorporating Windsor Run and Piccione into your NC wine tour! I also can't recommend booking with NC Grape Escape enough...they were exactly what we wanted.

This national park site is tucked neatly woven into the green belt of Greensboro. Right off of the…read morecity's Greenway, it's not even out of the question to bike to and from here. In my case, I live close enough to actually walk/run here and back. While there is a paved loop through the entire park which features an audio guide and numbered stops, it's actually a wonderful place to walk. In fact it feels almost European in sentiment as I rarely ever see cars driving through and more often see people walking, running, or biking. The park office and facilities are generally a bit outdated, but very informative about the park and the associated history of the American revolution connected to this place. There's a gift shop and daily staff there to answer any questions you may have. And the park teaches you perhaps the most important point: why the city took on the name of Greensboro. But I'll let you all visit and figure that one out for yourselves.

This is apparently a Revolutionary War site, and one that did not ring any bells for me as a…read morenon-historian. And yet, on a weekday morning, the place was packed. Apparently it is a popular hangout for locals in need of exercise (or with a dog). I got an extensive introduction in the visitor center, and after a brief perusal of indoor exhibits I walked the main loop. It had a variety of memorials and historical placards. The indoor exhibit also had placards, but these were supplemented by some hastily printed and taped on cards saying things like "additional context needed" while in most cases adding very little. Whoever came up with them probably thinks they are very smart, but I found the whole thing bizarre and best ignored. The trails are mostly paved, and offer a nice shaded walk on a hot day. I did not watch the historical documentaries, but they may be worthwhile. There is no entrance fee for the site.
