Found this place by accident, when I was exploring Monroe. We are complete suckers for the little joint with the packed parking lot. The shrimp po-boy was very good as was the grilled chicken sandwich. The basket of fried shrimp was hot and tasty, and made me a officially a big fan of their tangy daq sauce. Only disappointment was the basket of boneless wings, they were a bit on the greasy side. Though overhearing a conversation with the manager and another patron is sounded like they had a new cook in the kitchen, as they food came out a little slow. The burger's looked fantastic and many of the female lunch crowd were ordering the salads topped with shrimp or chicken depending on their preference. We ate outside as the inside was completely packed. The service was excellent even though the food was a hair slower than I think was the usual. Definitely a great lunch spot in Monroe! read more

I've been here for lunch and had food ordered for work. Never had a problem. Went for dinner the first time with my husband and took over an hour to get food. Still was great but I suspect our server forgot to put in the order because she came to us later asking if we had ordered an app. read more

Ordered two adult grilled cheese sandwiches and was informed after I paid at the drive thru window that they only had cheddar, American, Swiss and pepper jack cheeses(ordered cheddar, Gouda and blue cheese). So not only did they not have what I ordered, they didn't start making my order until I got here to pick it up 25 min later. Still waiting on my sandwiches. This isn't the first time the service has been terrible. Just the breaking point for me. Will never spend money here again. read more

Daq's was once the Sonic Drive-In on Forsythe Street and is now transformed into a walk-in diner and grill. We have been here three times now, and each time the food was outstanding. As a burger aficionado I ordered a type of hamburger each time, and I can say unreservedly they are the finest in Monroe Louisiana. Yes, I order burgers elsewhere as well. On the second and third visit I special ordered the burgers just to see if they would be wrong or slowed down. they were not. The meat was prepared correctly, and was fresh, hand formed, and thick. The burgers themselves were filling and the fries were outstanding. Parking was close and available. We were immediately seated. We visited during lunch each time. The service was attentive and quick. The waitresses were courteous and efficient. My only complaint is the diner is not very old, but still had ripped vinyl seating in the booths. Perhaps they bought old booths from a closing restaurant when they opened this one, but if so, they should have had them upholstered. Maybe they believe it gives the place a certain "lived in" and aged appeal, like Daq's has been in business longer than it has. Never the less, the quality of those burgers is such that they far outweigh the upholstery. Nobody comes here for the upholstery. The food and staff gets this diner five stars. . read more

The food was pretty good but April, one of the managers is rude and has terrible customer service skills. They forgot an item in a carry out order and when I called to let them know she basically accused me of lying. Grudgingly had it remade but when I went to pick it up, again told me I was wrong and was very rude. All this for 8$ worth of chicken wings on a 50$ order? Give me a break! read more

Food is OK but for a Dive it is way over priced for what you get. I work nearby so have eaten here several times. If you are going to charge me $10 for a BLT then I expect a pound of bacon like the first time I ordered one (last three however just enough to cover some lettuce) Buff chicken sandwich with no sides cost me $12...half time its great half the time it's not...no more for me. read more

I know their specialty is wings but i checked out the menu prior to actually eating here and their the variety of apps alone was what made me want to try this place. I came for lunch and ordered the spicy green beans and the Big Harvey poboy. Spicy green beans were not very spicy but still good. I've had better though. But I would definitely come back just for the poboy. The bread was fresh and the poboy dipped in the gravy was delicious. I ordered a half and it came with fries. I thought the prices were a bit pricey--- $18 for lunch, but the portion was filling. I would have liked to try more appetizers, wish they offered a sampler. My friend ordered the cheese boudin balls and i was actually very surprised to find them on the menu and also a little weary of trying them-- but they were decent. I only say this because i'm from Lafayette and Billy's has the best pepperjack boudin balls. But the one at Daq's has good flavor and a good amount of spice. I just didn't care for their fried batter-- similar to the batter on the spicy green beans. I just thought the price ($7.99) was a bit steep for 3 balls... but my friend had never had a boudin ball so it worth the try! read more

I honestly used to really enjoy this restaurant, but lately this place has gone downhill. My wait for lunch has approached nearly an hour each time I try to go, making it impossible to go on my lunch break. Food and drink prices have been raised twice in the last two years, while food quality has steadily decreased (the macaroni bites taste like plastic now). The ceiling leaks despite a new roof on the building, and when the drive-thru window opens, the bar area smells like mildew. Meanwhile, the only time I have seen the owners come through is when they are filling their to-go cups with Crown Royal or Tequila. Unfortunately, what used to be a fun place to hang out has become a mouse and roach infested, overpriced, and neglected health hazard. read more

Love the place. The gravy fries are excellent and by all means have the buffalo chicken sandwich. The fries are not out of a bag. Oh, and the BLT is a full pound of bacon. Trust me...I tried it. No complaints here. Service can be a little slow at times but good food is worth the wait. read more

Worst service that I have ever had at a local restaurant. It was a slow night and we placed our order, 45 mins later we approach the waitress about our order and she claims that she "forgot to place our order". When it was stated that we had placed the order over 45 mins ago, the waitress claimed that "it had only been 30 minutes". Nonetheless she blamed her stupidity and lack of responsibility on her customers. I did not get her name, but the manager that was present did not seem too worried about how the situation was handled. I do not recommend this place to anyone until their service improves. read more

Went to Daq's a couple months back with high expectations based on what friends and coworkers had to say about the place. Went in on a Saturday night around 7 PM and the place was surprisingly slow -- most tables were empty with football playing around the restaurant. My fiancee and I seated ourselves and waited for a waitress to come by. About 2 minutes into being there, one of the waitresses who was wiping off a table when we walked in completely ignored us and sat down at another table with two girls who were probably her friends to have a chat. Meanwhile, another waitress wiped a few tables here and there (again, not busy so not much work to do) and didn't pay us any attention at all. After 10 minutes of this going on, another couple walked into the restaurant and sat at the booth next to us. The first waitress was still talking to her friends and the second waitress came out shortly thereafter to greet and ask the other couple what they'd like to drink. She then made her way to our table, at which point I asked to speak with the manager. I spoke with the manager and told her my issue, which she apologized for, agreed that the service should've been better and offered to take care of our meal. I declined because I was in no mood anymore to eat at Daq's. She then took down my number and said that the lead manager would give me a call that following Monday, which never happened. By other people's opinions, they may have the best wings in Monroe. But I'll never know and don't care to find out based on the piss poor service we received while there. read more
