The entire store is above and beyond but the employees in the liquor store section are a breed apart. I am a consistent customer. One of my favorite things is that no matter how often you go there they check your ID to your card. They make sure no one is scamming a card. Plus as you get older being carded feels good, lol. All jokes aside they are professional, polite, and friendly. I have been talked down to and insulted at other stores. They have been unfailingly respectful and helpful. I can't recommend this establishment enough. Mo in particular is amazing but so is the rest of the staff. I don't have everyone's name off the top of my head. However, there isn't an employee there that hasn't helped me or given me anything but a solid recommendation. Given a chance I'd hire every one of these people and steal them. Far and away the best liquor store in the state and I travel a lot. It isn't the biggest store and it doesn't have the largest selection but it does boast the best staff. If you're going to be in Eugene I highly recommend Bruns Red Apple Market as your go to liquor store. Plus they're open til 10 even On Sundays! You can't beat that. Again, Mo is the bee's knees. I might be biased but they're awesome. In fact every person that works there has never been anything but awesome. Normally any place you shop at has that one person. You know. The one that makes you not want to be there. They don't have that. Every employee I've met has been polite, professional, and kind. As an expert on both customer service and liquor stores I give them a hard 10/10. Remember to tip your liquor store people like you'd tip your bartender. The trouble with this store for me, is I tend to check expiration dates before I purchase goods, and this place has a higher than expected number of items that are past their Best By date. So that's something to watch out for if you care about it. The place smells incredible, like incense. The music was almost painfully repetitive. The person behind the counter didn't ask if they could help me, which personally, I appreciate. It's worth checking out, but I hate to say it if you are looking for slightly more common Indian spices, you might be better off checking Mountain Rose or even nearby Market of Choice if you want something fresher and in smaller quantity.

The two packages they had, looked like it had smaller leaves than I preferred, but looked really fresh. I was planning on surprising my family by making palusami since I only had 2 bags and didn't have enough for make laulau. I had all of my ingredients laid out and ready. Imagine my surprise and disappointment when I opened the taro leaf packages and found that inside the nice and fresh leaf, were small, wilted, yellow, brown spotted, broken and ripped with holes taro leaves! These are basically the leaves that a grocery store should not be selling and instead, they decided to deceive their customer by wrapping those leaves with a nice, fresh one on the outside. I felt so disappointed in this store! I'm from the island, I know my taro leaves. If they did this purposely thinking other people will not notice, shame on the store. I know many have raved about the produce here, and I hope that this is a fluke. I will try again in a couple of weeks. If I get similar results, I will need to talk to the owner about getting a better vendor. Or i'll just order it from back home and pay that shipping charge.

This Dari Mart is down the street from where I work, and I'm happy it is. Multiple employees at my job also visit this location and have great experiences here. I mainly use the drive through to grab a soda for myself and at least one other coworker on almost a daily basis. Every time I drive up to the window, I'm greeted with a smile and asked how I'm doing. It's not one of those fake "how are you doing" and if it is, they are great at faking it! My sodas are always filled to the top and correct, which rarely happens at other similar businesses. I have great experiences with everybody at this location, but I have to give a special shout out to Kentucky and Willow. They are two of the most friendly, helpful and fun people who seem to truly enjoy their jobs. If you ever pull up and see them, make sure and ask them how their day is going, and thank them for being awesome!

They get to know their regular customers, remembering their names, the kind of cigarettes they buy, making conversation and jokes with them. They are open fairly late, until 11pm, so if you forgot something at the grocery store that you need to make dinner, Dari Mart is much closer and quicker than a trip to the grocery store. I know I appreciate the friendly and helpful staff here more than any other Dari Mart locations. I'm lucky this one is so close to my house and has great employees.
