I've driven by this place numerous times and was curious to know what kind of food they offered. It's like a small town kind of vibe. Wasn't really sure if they wanted me in there being that I'm Black and the climate of America is weird right now. It was like a "well she has money in her hand, so we won't turn her away" kind of thing. I ordered clam strips. They were decent enough but I don't know if I'll go back being as though the hospitality wasn't very warm and welcoming. It was more of a "how did YOU find this place". Hopefully I'm wrong & it was all in my head. They were nice to the white people though, so if you're not Black and you're contemplating going here, I'm sure they'd love your business.

Ordered shrimp cleaned and it was anything but. These towels are filled with nastiness. Just lacks care.

I drove up at closing time, right as the owner was locking up. Do you have time for one more customer I asked, fully expecting him to apologetically say no. But to my delight he said Sure, and turned on the lights (and the scale and the credit card machine) and sold me my dinner, which was fresh and delicious. Thank you for the kindness and the great service. read more

Best seafood in the area. This store has been run for decades by the family of a locally based fishing boat so you know their stuff is fresh. Also prepared meals, PEI mussels, lobster rolls and pies. Oh... the pies! read more

I walked in and I could've sworn I seen 1399 outside for a lobster roll it was the size of my hand it was really delicious but 22 99 Way overpriced I enjoyed it but I won't be going back but I guess for the neighborhood that's the going rate read more

Honestly do not understand how this is not a 5 star listing. Every time I've ever come in the staff is so helpful. The food is also amazing I've bought claims, muscles swordfish , lobster and oysters. The only thing I had trouble with was the oysters one time and the owner told me to come back and he would give me new ones! read more

I am a person who supports small business and I tried. I told everyone about this place and I'm sorry I did. Loyal customer or not, the service has been grumpy, rushed and lacks a certain enthusiasm for business in general. Sorry, nothing so special in this place that is worth dealing with that, especially for the high prices. Whole Foods and Fresh Market are good for me! read more

The fish is fresh and good but the crab cakes are awful. There is like 2% crab and the rest breading. If you've ever had real crab cakes you'll know what I mean. read more

Best Garlic Bread, period. Wrap it in foil and eat it today or freeze it for up to a month and eat it then. 5 culls for 25-30 bucks in the summer is a good deal. Helpful and friendly staff. Free lemons with seafood purchase. Decently priced and tasty fried seafood lunches. read more

This place has the best seafood you can ever imagine. The lobster rolls are to DIE FOR!! The chowder is also phenomenal and is a must have! Love stopping in here on my way to go to the beach or go boating. read more

The space itself is beautiful--very minimal with white floors, high vaulted ceilings, and a really open feel. They have a retail wall on the left with some gorgeous ceremonial tea sets imported from Japan that I spent way too much time looking at. As for the drinks, you can tell they aren't cutting corners. They use ceremonial grade matcha from the Mizoguchi family (who apparently have 400 years of history in Kumamoto), and everything is organic. I tried two different vibes: * Golden Hour: This was a standout. It's a mix of coconut, turmeric, ginger, and some warming spices like nutmeg and cardamom. It had a nice little kick from the peppercorn. * Kokuta Hojita Latte: I got this with almond milk. The Japanese black sugar gives it a really deep, toasted sweetness that isn't cloying. The staff was super friendly and nailed the order. Also, side note: they have a modern touchless POS system, which made paying quick and easy. My only gripe--and it has nothing to do with the shop itself--was the seating. It's pretty limited to begin with (a sofa, some small tables, and one Japanese Ceremonial Table). Unfortunately, the "Zen" vibe was a bit ruined by someone hogging the entire ceremonial table with her laptop and books while other people were literally standing around waiting for a spot. Definitely not very zen behavior! Overall, it's a cool spot for a high-quality matcha fix. Just maybe don't expect to lounge for hours if it's busy.

We have ordered lobsters from DSM........but in the midst of the CV-19 lock-down, I craved getting Jackie something a little special as an appetizer before dinner. I pulled into DSM and they steered me to some of the most delicious stuffed clams I have ever tasted. Such a friendly family owned store in the hallowed tradition of what a seafood market really should be. Its a very special spot and part of what makes this corner of CT feel like a million miles away from the big city. read more
