I was referred to Nourish by a friend. I browsed their web site and read over the 'Providers and…read moreStaff' bios to try and decide which doctor I wanted to see based on my needs. Honestly, it was a bit of a shot in the dark. Prices of visits vary depending on who you see. I called to make an appointment, and was disappointed to find out it was about 3 months before I could get in. I was called and offered an earlier appointment when someone else cancelled, but I couldn't make it, so I stuck with my original appointment time. The front desk staff were always pleasant when I interacted with them. You have the option to visit in person or through an on-line virtual video visit. For my first visit, I decided to go in-person as I wanted to make a connection with the doctor and for her to really "see me". The office is very clean, modern and upscale, although not 'cold and clinical'. The decor colors are welcoming and serene. There is a waiting room and then you're called back to your doctor's office and you walk through a common area with a large table. There's a small restroom and a phlebotomist's room. I left after my first visit (which was about an hour) with my head spinning slightly as I felt like I had some 'homework' to do before my next visit. This included downloading an app, through which to order supplements and ordering said supplements. Organizing getting bloodwork (which, after some research turned out to be less expensive through a 3rd party lab, not through the Nourish phlebotomist), ordering a prescription through a compound pharmacy and purchasing and utilizing a continual glucose monitor through another retail outlet. While wearing the monitor, I had to enter any food consumed and any exercise activity into the glucose monitor app. Communication with your Nourish doctor is done through a 'patient portal'. Any messages I sent were usually answered within a couple of days. I also called the front desk a few times with questions. For my second visit, I chose the convenience of meeting virtually on-line to save the commute time. This visit was about 40 minutes, done through the portal. The doctor I chose was professional, knowledgeable and pleasant, but not particularly warm and bubbly. She didn't smile much. Not a lot of pleasantries like , 'How was your summer?' or 'How was the drive here?' or whatever, just strictly down to business. That's OK, but I like a little bit more of a friendlier/interactive bedside manner. Between two visits, some bloodwork (outside my provider network), several supplements, a compound pharmacy prescription and mail delivery, plus purchasing a glucose monitor, (also out of my provider network), I spent just over $1,100. After my second visit, it kind of occurred to me that the operation relies a little heavily on the recommendation of supplements which you order through a portal they suggest -- obviously they make a commission. (I was told by the front desk to 'Not order through Amazon'!) I didn't feel like the first set of supplements had done much, so I decided not to order the second set that was suggested. I felt I was given very minimal nutritional advice. I'm glad I gave Nourish and naturopathy a try and I was pleased that I was tested/monitored for things that my regular medical provider wouldn't bother testing for, however, ultimately I didn't feel like it solved much for me. I needed to do my yearly checkup with Dr. Chang but wasn't wanting to go in to a medical building. Luckily, she is doing video doctor visits and was able to book a time. Dr Chang has an easy way about making you feel comfortable. I have an adrenal disorder that is somewhat rare and Dr. Chang is very knowledgeable about it. She asked all the right questions to be sure I'm getting proper dosages of my medications and feeling well. She is thorough and cares about her patients very much! They use MyScripts and VidyoConnect apps to do questionnaires and video link for the doctor visit. Luckily, Yelp Zoom made me less afraid of a video connection. I definitely recommend Dr. Amy Chang. She is an excellent endocrinologist. I would recommend her to anyone.

They were too big so anything natural wouldn't make a very big difference so I really wanted to have them surgically removed. The first 2 surgeons both told me that during surgery there would be a 15% chance that they would need to do an emergency hysterectomy and I really didn't want that. I finally found Dr. Parker through a recommendation from my new functional medicine doctors, who said that he had helped another patient of hers with a similar problem. Since I don't live near Dr. Parker's office, I was able to do my initial consultation online. He thoroughly explained my MRI images and all of my options and the pros and cons of each. I felt very comfortable making the decision to have the fibroids laparoscopically removed, and was actually excited to have it done, not scared at all. Dr. Parker clearly has a lot of experience and knowledge. The day before the laparoscopic procedure I was examined by Dr. Parker and he explained what would happen the next day and what to do in recovery. I was able to ask all the questions that I had and he even showed me a video of the procedure so I could see exactly how it works. On the day of the surgery, Dr. Parker and all of the other doctors and assistants took very good care of me, even though it took longer than expected as I had so many fibroids! I went home the same day and recovered quickly. I took 2 weeks off from work, but was able to walk around and do things pretty normally. Two months from the surgery I had another online check-up with Dr. Parker and was happy to report that I was not only completely recovered but feeling better than ever. Now it's been five months and I can hardly see the scars and I'm still feeling great! I'm so happy and forever grateful that after not being satisfied with the first two surgeons' solution, I sought out a third opinion and found Dr. Parker. I am a very lucky man to be on this voyage to to be cured of blood cancer/Multiple myelom at San Diego Scripps Grreen hospital, the best hospital that I've ever been in, not that i've ever been in a "Four Seasons resort" Medicare Hospital Supplement. Reportedly, an 85% chance of full remission in the U.S. for Multiple myeloma. That includes everybody in the world no matter what condition they are or their age. I believe that percentage is likely higher because of this Green hospital, the top notch doctors & nurses who selectively work there, and my attitude to have fun while I succeed. Foremost, the "food is to order" and medical service by everyone is fantastic. I've been on "order first"/" sight-unseen" steroids aggressively fighting this for a number of days before I even check in. Oncologist Dr. Bryan Pham was the initial point Doctor for me and is one of the many All-Star gurus of the team. He sat down and hugged me. He knew exactly what to do from the beginning. I love him. On my very first visit to Dr. Pham, he did a bone marrow biopsy. It did not hurt too bad because everything was numbed before the procedure and until the first night. That night was the most painful night of my life once the numbness wore off. That's okay though because they have meds so you survive. I was never worried. Before he stuck the needle into me, he asked me what kind of music I wanted to hear ("Mr. Chin," by the beloved albino Jamaican legend Yellowman" who survived jaw bone cancer in the face) so the biopsy would be relaxing.. Dr. Pham thankfully fast-tracked everything. The wizard, the genius, head hancho Dr. Dimitrios Tzachanis, MD, PhD, magically runs things. "Dr. T" makes you feel you are so fortunate to be among such a mystic, amazing grasp of the overall medical effects and chronological steps. Dr. Michaela Miller "Doctor of the Month" is primarily among other Superwomen doctors who all work with each other and make sure that you get successful anytime treatment and any necessary appointment on the spot at the hospital as soon as possible; it doesn't matter what time of day or night. Noor Qaddour, DO, and Bijan Roshan, MD, carefully show up with hands on in places you nay not think, e.g. lab, kidneys. More necessary checks and balances! There are so many good doctors and nurses, I'm blown away. There are so many top notched medical specialists, I don't know where to stop. They know who they are. They work at Scripps. They are my heroes. Of course, I would have never got here without my wonderful wife or cat. My cat Butters saved my life. Over a week ago I was petting my cat. Then he decided to pick up the love by digging his claws into my wrist, which resulted in a blood poisonous bruise which was clearly infected ( visible to my wife), leading to an emergency room trip to a Motel Six style hospital / hotel. When we walked in, a man was yelling that a truck ran over his foot. I was messed up; I needed to switch hospitals. Everything was properly addressed at Scripps. I have been and will be continuously treated until cured. I have a very positive and fun attitude, a must. I have simply continued to do as told. I have Multiple myeloma (requiring apx. 7 radiation treatments) plus easy-to-do chemotherapy, treatment of cancer lesions in the back, possible bloodclots (which is why I wear compression socks and take a blood thinner, improved kidneys, and important procedures of anything needed on every level. We're winning. It's not gonna be easy or a quick fix. Good things in life take work and time. No pain no gain. The Doctors feel good about where we are now. I am extremely satisfied and feel blessed. I can't say enough. They really care about their 1st class "modern medicine" treatments. The doctor came in and thanked us for being good patients. The doctor always looks at my wonderful wife because he knows she is the one he can trust. She is spearheading this positive direction. I am trying to have fun. If I could just make one person laugh every day. I will.
