I have been a patient for over 10 years and we have always received great service until the last three years. As he has grown over the years, it has gone down hill. I didn't want to post anything negative and if you see my posts history, I only like to post positive things about a business but my friends said I need to post so it doesn't happen to someone else. When I call, I can't get a call back. This has happened more than once. Recently I was put on a few medications and I noticed some side effects so I googled it and saw that u should not be on both. Just one of the medications did the job. I asked my new doctor about it and she agreed that I shouldn't have been on both. The message I left previous to Dr Dysart was stating I don't think I should be on both of them and no one had called me back. They just don't care anymore. Dr. Dysart is the best primary physician I've had in my lifetime. He has taken care of me in every way. However, the office staff hasn't answered their phones in the last four years. I am always asked to leave a message. Message is left and no call back without me calling and calling them back for a response. The last three times I actually threatened to call or stop in to see Dr Dysart before they finally got back to me. I've asked several times after finally being called back, why they never answer their phones without a callback message. Their answer is always the same, "we are just so busy". I would give Dr. Dysart a five star rating, but the office staff stinks. read more

First time here and I am happy to say that Dr. Dysart is my doctor. He is very professional, funny, caring, friendly, patient, and definitely knows what he is doing by using evidence to support his answers. I decided to choose him as my doctor after reading all the positive reviews from Yelp and from another site called Zoc Doc. I was able to get an appointment with him very quickly. Usually, it will take me a week or two for me to schedule an appointment at other places. When I first arrived, I filled out all my information on an electronic device. It was quite different because I usually get a bunch of papers on a clipboard to fill out. I think this is a lot more convenient and more tech savy. Even Dr. Dysart came in with an Ipad and started typing away when he was questioning me about my medical history and why I came in for a visit. I only had to wait for a little bit (no more than 20 minutes) for Dr. Dysart to come and see me. Thank goodness! I don't like waiting over an hour for doctors to come see me. =/ Dr. Dystart definitely listens to you! I complained to him about my concerns/worries and he listened and listened. He gave me helpful options of what I should or can do. I also got a physical exam and he explained everything, step by step! For some odd reason.... From the inside of the room, it does not really look like a doctor's office. I mean it does and it's legit but I don't know how to describe it.. Maybe it's because the building itself, had deceived me because I usually go to big hospitals for appointments. I had some blood work done today and the nurse who administered it was very friendly, accommodating, and patient with me. I like how I didn't have to go to another building or location for them to draw my blood. It's very convenient to just do it at the time of the visit. I am scared of needles and I nearly fainted the last time I donated blood. She gave me 2 options and made the entire process really easy. She made me forget that I was getting blood work done and the needle went in painlessly! Quickie, in and out! There is a private lot in the back and also street parking (max. 2 hours) on the busy Clairemont Mesa Street. Overall, it's a great experience and I hope I won't be needing to come back anytime soon! read more

I liked the Doc at first, but lately he doesn't seem to give a damn about his patient's. My wife has had some issues ,and he was generally not concerned. Recent. I tried getting in touch with him several times and left multiple messages and I gave up. Going to switch primary next week. He comes across as a smart guy, but really he's just a cold and scratch Doctor. Office staff seems a little nicer than other doctors offices I've dealt with. My review is opposite of some reviews here. The Dr, seems to give up on you when the problem falls outside basic diagnoses or colds etc... I had a Saturday morning appointment, which was a huge perk! No need for babysitters or hubs needing to leave work early. Most of the staff members I encountered at this place were kind, caring and accommodating. I had some blood work done for USCIS and Dr. Dysart staff accommodated me at the earliest possible date. Dr. Dysart is very professional and knows his work well. Above all, their rates are much lower compared to any other USCIS certified doctors in the area. I think Dr. Dysart is a wonderful doctor, and I would love to be able to see him again for his advice. However, he works for Genesee Medical Group. I have never run across such a dishonest business before. I wanted a second opinion outside my insurance network. I had seen Dr. Dysart before, and I wanted to consult with him. I made an appointment, showed up on time, checked in, paid for my visit, waited in the lobby, got called, had my weight taken, and was shown into an exam room. The nurse started asking me questions, then left the room. The receptionist came in and told me it was illegal for them to see me because of the ACA. They said that under the ACA, it was illegal for patients to get second opinions. They refunded my money and I left. The next day, I checked around, and there was nothing about the ACA that had anything to do with my visit. I called and demanded to know why they had refused to see me. The office manager called back. She lied about what had happened the day before. She made up another lie about the ACA, saying that people who bought insurance through the exchange were not allowed to get second opinions. She lied and said my case had something to do with MediCal rules. She lied about the amount I'd been paying for office visits under my previous insurance policy. She lied about the amount that they charge other patients for cash visits. I can never remember anybody lying to me so much about anything before. What an amazingly dishonest business! Very nice guy. My only beef is that the staff I called to set up my medical told me that the doctor "only does 1st class medicals for people flying big airplanes" no joke. I'm still in GA... so I booked the 3rd class much to my dismay. Got into the room with the Dr. who said he did not enforce this caveat (rightly so, never heard the likes) and gave me a 2nd class. I have been seeing Dr. Dysart since I moved to San Diego in 2003. He treats my entire family, and my children adore him. He's never condescending simply because they're younger, and he always writes their diagnoses down so that they can do additional research themselves. I try not to go to the Doc for every sniffle and cold...I'm pretty old school and I listen to what my body tells me. That's one of the reasons I love Dr. Dysart...if I go in and say "I swear I have pertussis", he'll ask me why, what my symptoms are, and then test me for said disorder/cootie if applicable (the pertussis thing really happened, and yes, I did in fact have pertussis). I miss the homey feel of his old office off of Ruffin Road, but I like the new office. Most of his staff are wonderful, thogh there have been one or two front desk persons at his new office that have been snippy. Dr. Dysart is truly, truly the best. This doctor's office is a great place. They are very fast and to the point. They also provide some of my standard medications there so it saved me a trip to the pharmacy. It's well decorated and very clean, always smells nice and clean too. They also provide free wifi which is a plus for when my kids come with me. They only have few parking spaces, but all in all great place to get good care and fast service. read more

He genuinely cares and wants to address all of your concerns. Takes his time making sure i understand everything and listens to all my dumb questions. Dr Dysart is great. I would have put a 5 star rating up except for the fact that some of the office staff are not 100% up to par. I am not sure if the issues as "growing pains" as the doctor recently moved to a new location with a new medical group.
