Our remodel was quoted at $99,371.26 OMG! Here is what they did, & did wrong. Why are we just now speaking out? We are like most people, hesitant to criticize. Plus, Guy Colvin is not approachable & Daniel made numerous poor suggestions. kitchen: 1. new sink which they found in their attic. 2. removal of door to porch to expand kitchen by a mere 36in. 3. install microwave shelf. Too tall to use. NOT EVEN ONCE! 4. Granite countertops installed by Classic., which are fine. 5. dishwasher leak. Fixed by Roger Blakely. Main Bath: 1. new tile with YELLOW grout. Their solution was pour Soft & Scrub on grout. ARE YOU KIDDING!?! 2. water line to toilet cut too short causing slow fill. AGGRAVATING. 3. no hole in shower soap dish. Master bath: 1. shower leak into basement ceiling. Our reserve stock depleted. 2. no brace needed for shower glass enclosure, so said DANIEL. more extra cost to us for City Glass to install 3. tv installed on opposite wall from vanity. DANIEL'S idea. he said we could watch TV by looking in the mirror. RIGHT! TRY THAT. additional cost for reinstall. 4. YOU'LL LOVE THIS ONE!!! off & on STINCH in bathroom. . .for 4 years. after Colvin's feeble attempts to find problem, Roger Blakely discovered toilet was not installed correctly. Roger also found traps under sinks were loose. 5. HERE IS A CURRENT DISASTER: 16" ceramic tile installed over a junction between basement & slab. no expansion joint, so tile CRACKED. Colvin once again depleted all of our 16"reserve stock. AND NOW THE GROUT IS CRACKED, & so is the wall . BY THE WAY THE TILE IS UNEVEN. DISGUSTING!! WE WERE STUPID PEOPLE TO ALLOW COLVIN TO WORK IN OUR HOME WHILE WE WERE IN AZ FOR 3 MONTHS. *garage dors were left open ALL night *nicks, scratches, & dents in our woodwork & trim THERE YOU GO!

I recently bought an old house and have multiple projects in the work. My realtor recommended…read moreCopper River Cabinet Company so I decided to give them a shot. I'll admit, the first time I came in to look at new countertops, I had to scout out an employee myself because they were all sitting in the back and no one came to see if I needed anything. Not a huge deal because it doesn't take much effort to go find someone but just thought I'd point it out because it was a common theme in other reviews. That part is true-the employees could take more initiative to seek out new customers just so they know they are noticed. But the designer I worked with, Brandi was excellent. We were able to knock out every detail of my countertops and I felt really good about the process. I came back in one time to finalize the deal and ended up buying one of their pieces in the back. It was discounted and still in great condition so I thought why not. Anyway, I had come with my mom and grandma and I'm not a very big person myself, but we were just planning on c setting it out. One of the guys who worked there offered to carry it for us and get it in the truck, which was super helpful and kind. The day that they came to install the countertop, they were on time, polite, and did an excellent job installing everything as well as answering my questions. I'm 24 and a first time homeowner so a lot of this stuff is over my head but they were patient and answered all my questions thoroughly. Not only that, but they went above and beyond in making sure the countertop was perfect, even rehanging cabinets that were crooked per the previous owner. I didn't like the old countertop because it was ugly and poorly done but seeing some real professionals install this new countertop was super encouraging. They also installed the new cabinet I had bought on discount in the back and extended the countertop. I was SUPER impressed with the final result and I'm so glad I used Copper River! I would definitively recommend them to anyone trying to redo your home. The prices were great, the workers are professional, and the product is fantastic! Thanks so much Copper River for the great experience!

Check. Lumber? Check. Christmas trees? Check. You get the point. It's ALL there. There are even items we find at Menard's that we can't find elsewhere (our favorite dog treats we can only find here.) (That is to say, our DOG'S favorite dog treats we can only find here. We don't eat them, that would be weird.) This store is massive and it's easy to get turned around in the center aisles. The garden center is outstanding during garden center season, and we bought 6 crepe myrtles there which are thriving in our back yard. The staff has always been helpful and I think everybody that works there knows where just about everything is. More often than not they'll take you to what you're looking for instead of casually waving you in the direction you need to go. They almost always have a 11% rebate offer going on, which is great when you go back. Heck, they even have the rebate forms right there at the checkout to make it easy for you. Fill out the form, mail it in with a copy of your receipt, and in a couple weeks you get a rebate form that you'll turn right around and spend in their store. Speaking of money (which we only marginally were), the prices at Menard's a pretty frikkin' reasonable. Like any merchant, prices can be higher or lower on various items, but we find that the prices here are generally lower than other hardware/building supply/general merchandise locations. My only real complaint is that they can be slow to realize that the need to open more registers. On our last visit there were two registers open and the lines were literally 12 to 15 customers deep (I counted). It made me wonder if I was at Walmart or if I was at Menard's. That tends to be the exception and not the rule, so don't that dissuade you from shopping there. If you haven't been to Menard's it's time to give it a try. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. We may even see you there on Menard's weekend!

I was told to get a Zinc Anode Rod to kill the smell from our hot water. I purchased this rod, per their recommendation, installed it and the smell got so much worse....practically unbearable anytime we ran the hot water. I decided to give it some time, but, the smell kept getting worse. Finally, I removed the Anode Rod and took it back to Central supply wanting either a refund or exchange for a new rod. They would NOT do either. I am out the money. This company will NOT stand behind their products. I went home and put a plug into the water heater, instead of using the rod, and the smell was almost gone! Talked with the owners of a Well drilling company and Septic company, both told us that Anode rods make water smell worse, and to leave them out. The reason for the Anode rod is to trap bacteria and sediment to help keep the hot water heater from corrosion. Everyone we have spoken to since this situation, said their water heaters did fine without them. However, a person would need to use a rod the first 5 years after purchasing a hot water heater or the manufacturers of the water heaters will void the warranty. Ours is 5 years old, so we will not use an anode rod ever again, nor will we ever do business again with Central Supply.
