Doug came over and was just the best .Very professional and explained everything well and didn't bother having to repeat it . The Jason the owner came by to get what I really wanted and was so friendly and helpful . Then Mike stopped by and remeasured all the windows to make sure they were right . Jake and dj came to replace them and did a beautiful job and cleaned up everything like they were never even there . As of today (June 23, 2026), we have been stonewalled with promises and lies with no end in sight. We are considering litigation to retrieve our down payment. Our total contacts amounted to over $50,000. Imagine the number of people that would have been given jobs. I lost track of the number of LIES we were given. Such lies were: we can't start installing siding (stonewall-stonewall-stonewall) until your special front door arrives and is installed, we have all of the material (stonewall). When Universal Windows Direct makes a mistake, the customer is screwed. In 2024, we got a quote…read morefor two ValueLine entry doors with adjustable hinge attachments for $4400. The crew installed the doors and we were pleased with the new doors. Fast forward to February 2026, after cycling through bitter winter cold and oppressive summer heat, one door was opened and would not latch when closed. Called Windows Direct and asked for help. They sent over a High School DropOut to correct the problem. He discovered that the doors don't have an adjustable hinge attachment as spelled out in my quote. There is even a sticker with instructions on how to set the adjustable hinge on the door. HSDO was clueless. I had to instruct him how to fix the latch strike plate. In a follow up phone call, the HSDO said that my quote was in error, ValuLine doors aren't delivered with adjustable hinge attachments. Windows Direct made a mistake in the quote and they just don't give a sh$t about the customer. Apparently the Warrantee doesn't cover incompetence. When I hire a contractor my expectation is that I get the product I ordered and skilled craftsmanship. Windows Direct failed to deliver and betrayed my trust.
