The scars I have almost reach my sternum and suits worn have to be thick at the bottom to hide how visible they are. Secondly- I had to have a revision done since he and the team left a "dog ear" that looks like an unusual protrusion. Even after the revision -it's still present. Bathing suits worn have to be a certain type to hide the error and damage that wasn't addressed properly. After multiple phone calls with management- both Dr's. ( I inquired of both) refused any type of compensation for these issues that are now something I have to see everyday. I'm very disappointed in my results that are now almost a year old. My desires were made very clear to the staff and Downs. I would encourage others considering this establishment to do research on other plastic surgeons in the area. I would hope others don't find themselves in my position.

Upon my arrival at the hospital I became ill(vomiting) because my kidneys don't work and I had to walk from far away. I sat on the first bench I could find. A crabby lady approached me and instead of asking if I need help or offer me a tissue or water, she said, "is someone coming to help you"? I said "no, I have an appointment ". She said where and I told her. This crappy individual turned her back and made a bee line toward my specialists office to taddle tail on me. Ronald K. Downs then made it extra hard on me today by canceling my appointment right in my face. First they made me drive all the way to get my X-rays at another facility. Why can't you professionals figure that crap out? Next I get back with my X-rays early for my appointment. The f*cking idiot Dr. turned me away because "you were sick". I explained my illness to them and that it is nothing contagious. I have esrd and can't walk all that way w/o getting an upset stomach. I explained how hard it was for me to get there and be there. Nope. No compassion. They said reschedule. I said this is a broken bone and it's already been rescheduled on their account once. Now my broken hand will probably need rebroken because it's been so long. No lie, every time I go to a St Joe facility there is always a flucking problem. I have zero problems with all the other hospitals.

She has never ever steered me in the wrong direction or…read morea compromising position...no one listens like she does to her patients...she makes you feel like you're the only one she has seen today! lol..She can be very candid and straight forward sometimes, and careful and gentle the next. She is a fast thinker. She researches a drug's history, to see if that drug is compatible to you..I have gained so much knowledge from her..I always look forward to seeing her, it's not a 'dread' thing..We have laughed and talked and shared family stories over the years...I am so glad she is much younger than me, because I can't imagine my healthcare being in anyone else's hands, let-alone better hands. She has been my dr since 1999. She's one of the busiest drs I've ever known. I can't praise her enough, I can't thank her enough...it would take a book.

I have gone to Dr. Galanes since I was a little girl and continued to follow her from doctors office to doctors office like a loyal patient (even after moving out of town). I was always happy with Dr. Galanes and just tried to look past how rude the staff is there. Today is Tuesday and I received a voicemail saying "just to let you know you have an appointment scheduled this Friday and unfortunately we are going to need to cancel that appointment. It looks like you are actually being dismissed from our practice. If you have any questions feel free to call us at 335-8500 thank you..." I, of course, called after being told I can no longer go to the same doctor anymore and was told well that would mean I can't get my prescription refilled and I immediately am done taking the same medicine I've been taking since high school and I need to find a different doctor... pretty much saying I'm not their problem anymore! After back and fourth phone calls all day and different stories as to how they came to this decision. I pretty much found out the office got audited in some way because of prescription they have been prescribing (I'm guessing the wrong way) and now pretty much are just going to get rid of the patients they must have messed up the paperwork on. The whole situation is very strange to me and I just want to warn any future possible patients to please reconsider because this office only thinks of you as a number and not a person anymore. They will try anything to put the blame on you whenever they mess anything up...
