HORRIBLE, I tried using a "local" business to help support a small business. I went in to get a special car key cut. They told me they have the machine, but the tech that does it is out on calls. Ok , they said he would be back at 5pm and would cut it. I called the next day. The key was not cut and could I wait another day. I said no problem. Next day key not cut...machine was broken. They had to bring my blank to their Middletown office where the other machine was. Luckily I was going away for a few days and I said , will it be done by next week? and was assured it would be done. I came back after the week and was told the key was still in Middletown and was being cut today. I asked when can I pick it up, tonight , I was told. All of the conversations and encounters I was courteous and respectful. The receptionist was always curt, impatient and nasty. When I returned the 4th time after 10 days, it was still NOT there nor done. She said the tech Nick was on his way back from Middletown with the key. I waited for 2 hours, he arrived with the key, CUT WRONG, didn't fit my car, done improperly!!! The owner was there sitting in a chair and didn't even bother to get up and speak with me or apologize for the improper handling, faulty work, inconvenience, or anything , actually he appeared annoyed !. After that I asked for my $30 refund, which I received. I then asked to have my blank key that I provided ($28) refunded. I was told I have to wait for a check to be cut. This was the worst run business , totally lacking any customer service or care. They don't give a crap. I asked to have the owner call me please.....that was 2 weeks ago. So between 5 trips back and forth to Beacon from my house, a ruined blank key, and aggravation am out 50 bucks and no extra key. read more

We were locked out of our condo. I called DASH and they told me that they would get back to me in 15 to 30 mins. I waited 45 and called back. No answer. I waited another half hour and he told me he wasn't going to come. Poor customer support. read more

I was locked out of my shop in Beacon, I called at 9PM and he was there 10 minutes later, pulled the broken lock, put in a replacement cylinder and everything was fixed in about 30 minutes. My experience was excellent, friendly, fast and professional, I will definitely use Dash again. I've used this shop a few times for making keys, and recommended to friends. Keys were made well, and quickly. However, after today's experience I'm never coming back. I stopped by the shop in the morning, and was told neither locksmith is there to make the keys, and I should come back in late afternoon. Not a problem, I did. Well, neither locksmith is there yet, and I was asked to come back in 40 minutes. I don't live around the corner, so I spent some more time walking around the local ships. Sure enough, when I'm back in the store 40 minutes later, I was told that the guys are not coming back to the store today. What kind of a locksmith is this that is unable to make keys for you on demand in their shop?! Based on all the other reviews here and my personal experience, if you can catch them, they do good work. But don't assume they'll be around when you need them. Called Dash and Lock at 11am, I had a very nice conversation with the women who answered the phone, she said someone would call me when they were on there way. 22 hours later I still haven't heard from anyone at Dash and Lock.
