This is probably the worst company that has ever existed, and I'm a very generous reviewer. My…read moregirlfriend got rear-ended by someone with Direct Auto Insurance, so I tried helping her out with the claim by making some phone calls. First, they are impossible to reach! It takes multiple phone calls just to talk to someone, and when you do they are extremely rude and are constantly giving you the run around. After days of trying to get a damage estimator to evaluate the car and for Direct to call the involved parties to get statements and receive the police report, we just gave up and decided to use her own insurance Geico. Looking online Nerd Wallet said that many people have similar problems, and their complaint ratio is 5.75, industry average is 1.00! We also had a friend who dealt with Direct before and she said she had to threaten to sue before they finally covered her claim. The advantage with Direct is that you have terrible credit, prior DUI or car accidents that they will give you auto insurance, so maybe they get 2 stars if you're one of those people, but if you happen to be in a car accident with someone with this insurance, don't waste your time in trying to deal with these people.
