Do NOT use Daugherty Appliance. They do not honor warranty work. Technician told me the ice maker they installed was under warranty. He ordered new ice maker and installed. In short, paid $95 for a technician to guess at what was wrong with my machine and hear about how Bosch differs from Whirlpool. As with others on this review thread - I was charged $95 for a service-technician to come to my house and tell me what was wrong with my dishwasher based on my over-the-phone description of the issue I provided the service staff 2-3 weeks prior. He had me sign a blank service slip so he could "legally" work on the machine, provided his best guess at what was wrong, balked about supply chain issues limiting his ability to get parts to repair and made recommendations for new machines...didn't even touch the machine. read more

In my opinion one star is to high a rating for this company. I called them and explained I had a 5 or 6 year old Samsung refrigerator that was freezing items on the top shelf. They sent a serviceman out after about a 2 week wait. He was there approximately 5 minutes, never even pulled the refrigerator out to look at it then told me it it would be about $800 to repair but would only last a short while so it wasn't worth repairing. A couple of months later I got a bill for $97.72 for a service call. WHAT SERVICE??? They could have told me the same over the phone, remember they didn't even but barely glance at the refrigerator. Just bought a washer and dryer set for over 2,000 dollars. The dryer will run on high heat all night and does not work properly. I called and set up service. I had to take a whole day off from work waiting for them. Finally showed up late afternoon and said they needed a part. 2 weeks later and I still have not heard from anyone. Side note. They do not accept credit cards so beware! If you do choose one they will make you pay all the fees of 3 percent of the purchase. Someone needs a wake up call at this company and get better service and charging for use of cc is ridiculous! read more

Hero to zero. I called them Thursday 5/6 to schedule service on a refrigerator that was covered by warranty, but out of their service area. The gal that I talked to was very nice and helpful. She checked with the owner and agreed to take the warranty call, and charge $105 for the out of area call (1 hour from Duluth). We scheduled service for the upcoming Thursday, and I was elated to finally get it fixed. I rearranged my schedule to stay at the cabin for the service call. I called today, 5/10, to ask if they could bring an ice maker when they come on Thursday. I was told that they canceled the appointment, and Whirlpool should have called me. When I asked about the cancelation I was told that the person I spoke to on Thursday made a mistake, and they will not come my location. I asked for an exception, and was told unapologetically "no exceptions". Other than the fact that they left me hanging there are some definite customer service issues here. When I called the representative checked with the owner to approve the warranty call. It was checked, and the call should be honored. Also they did not bother to call me to explain the mix up. They just denied the warranty request and assumed that Whirlpool would take care of it. Finally the person I spoke to today showed no empathy to the situation- just told me it was canceled, they weren't coming, and "no exceptions". If you are calling for service proceed with caution. By the way, Whirpool warranty is the absolute worst. We are buying a new refrigerator to be done with the situation. Needless to say we are not buying it from Daugherty. read more

Needed to replace my washing machine so I checked online, at Daugherty's, for availability. Daugherty does not list their prices but advises customer to "call for pricing". After calling multiple times a day, for the last three days, no one ever answered the phone. I guess they don't want or need the business. I purchased my new washer elsewhere. read more

After 35 yrs of supporting this business, no more. What happened to the good customer service? They won't allow return, for full refund,of one month old major appliance? How is one supposed to know how appliance works until you get it home? They offered 1/2 my money back. It's not like a car you can test drive! I really wanted to support local...their commercials showing the family business are so endearing. However, they lack all skills when it comes to customer service. I've had to wait for over a month for an oven repair - I should have just googled it - but because I bought the appliance there, I thought I'd get really good support. I didn't. I got a $95 service call to tell me what was wrong (again, should have just googled it) - waited over a month only for them to be a no show the day of the appt. Watched a youtube video on how to repair it - went and picked up the part. Scott B senior had no apologies, no sympathy for being with out an oven for over a month, no appreciation for having purchase 4 appliances there....All he would have had to do was say he was sorry for the inconvenience - he didn't. Very poor service, my dryer broke down and I called them they said there service people are out and they never called back the next day. It broke down on Wednesday I have to wait over a week to get them to come. They seemed more worried about the 4th of July which is 4 days away. They close early on Friday and closed Sunday. I called back like they told me to on Friday to get schedule time and the girl Lori was extremely rude , and short on the phone very brash when answering my questions, horrible customer service. I waited 9 days just for a service call, and had to hang my clothes out on the line I felt like a Amish boy. Don't do business with these people! After waiting 9 days the repair man Justin said u need a motor even though that's what I I told him the code said I had to wait another week for him to come back. read more

BEWARE !!! Took my microwave in to see if it would be worth repairing. Didn't hear back from them for 2 wks later although they claimed to have left a message. When I called to see what the delay was, a lady said the estimate to repair was over a thousand dollars and they just assumed I would want to scrap it. To top it off, they later charged my credit card for $66.95 service fee, including a 3% credit card fee to tell me my $200 microwave would cost $1000 to fix, with no real explanation of what was wrong with it. The head "B" was quite rude that I would question their rip off fees. Watch out for these rip-off artists. read more

Again, one star is too many for this place. After more run around from Scott, who I found out is the owner, I still have a non-working dishwasher! I received the first call-back from them today (every other correspondence has been because I called them), from him, to be told that there is nothing they are willing to do about my broken dishwasher, that is STILL UNDER WARRANTY! Scott is rude, dismissive and constantly interrupted me, and I have read a few other reviews on different websites that have said the same thing about him. The "repairman" they sent out never even opened his tool bag, and stormed out when I challenged him in even the slightest way. The lack of willingness and want to make things right is unbelievable, and I can't understand how a business with service this poor is still in business. Please go somewhere else if you need an appliance. read more

I bought a fridge, washer and dryer from Daughertys feeling good about my purchase. Sales was good to us, laid out our warranty and gave it to us the bill. Once the check went through the bank is when problems started. Each experience after sales was a learning one. 1st experience- brought our appliances to my house to install, the professional installation men (college kids), stripped my water line connections to my fridge. After several calls to management, 2 weeks later the repair man came out to my house. 2nd experience- dryer started acting up after 18 months. It would not start sometimes, would just sit and hmmm. Called Daughertys, they said to wait till it stops working, 1 yr later it quits working, Daughertys shows up. Says it's the motor and leaves. Pulled the warranty papers out, Said 10 year Warranty on motor, took picture and sent it to Daughertys. Got a call back later, said Samsung says no to the warranty. Several phone calls later to Samsung and Daughertys, Samsung saying that they can cancel warranty any time. Daughertys saying, sorry, but it's going to cost $500 to fix your dryer. Sold a false warranty, poor management, and no accountability for anything. If they would of paid for labor I would of been happy but they would not. Purchased a thermostat for a oven that was obviously used and didn't work when I installed it called to get a refund and was laughed at and told that they don't do refunds and that it was my loss that I purchased a $90 part that was used and told to call Scott. Do NOT buy from this store or these people! Very unethical business! Their speciality is the ol' bait-and-switch. They put out an ad including great prices on appliances they don't carry and can't get it in order to get you in the door then they upsell you into something else. I went there to buy a stove that was listed in their website AND on the paper flyer mailed out AND was a flyer even on the counter in their store. They didn't have the stove, never had the stove, and weren't going to get the stove. And they made no effort to even hide that fact, admitting it completely. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere because if you can't even buy the appliance without them trying to cheat you, then how likely is it that any part of your transaction, appliance, delivery, or warranty will be honest, ethical or respectful! read more

We purchased a Kitchenaid from Daugherty Hardware in the spring. I only wish I would have read the reviews first! I would have gone elsewhere. I have a few appliances I still need to purchase but will never go back to Daugherty. I spent almost $1000 on my dishwasher and it broke after just a few months. The repairman came out fixed the control panel and it was then fine for about 3 months and then broke again. I called Scott and asked for a replacement instead of another repairman. You have to wait for up to a week for someone to come then another week for any parts to come in. Scott seemed very aloof and did not seem to really care I had a problem. He said we would wait until the repairman came but he does not offer to take care of this problem. The repairman was here today and now we wait at least 8 days with no dishwasher and Christmas week at the same time. I am so appalled by this lack of concern and that Daugherty with its long-standing name does not offer to replace my dishwasher being it is under a year old and being the second time it broke down in a short time. I will never buy any more appliances from them and I would advise you to stay away from this place!! read more

We called Daugherty's when our dishwasher worked intermittently. The 1st repair man seemed tentative. He questioned himself out loud as he talked his way through the diagnostic phase. Ultimately he determined the problem was the thermostat, which took over a week to order. When it was finally installed to the tune of $165, we ran a load of dishes right after he left. The dishwasher malfunctioned the same way it had before. When I called to report the issue, I expressed that I did not think I should have to pay ANOTHER $165 to get the dishwasher fixed correctly. I was told they guarantee their work for 30 days. The 2nd repairman, infinitely more thorough that the 1st guy, took the door apart and looked at the "innards". He determined it was actually the control board. That would be another $179. He also told us that the control board could make it look like the thermostat was not working if you do not know what you are looking for! So I would be fine with paying one charge of $179 to actually fix the problem. The original work was not necessary. The lady who answers the phone told me if the first guy says the thermostat was bad, then it must be so and we had 2 problems with the dishwasher. I told her to keep their control board and I would shop elsewhere for repairs or a new dishwasher as I am not paying them twice to fix the same problem!
