I rarely write negative reviews, but I feel the need to warn future buyers. My father purchased a full kitchen package from Johnson Mertz in October 2021 and also purchased the extended warranty. We relied on the salesperson's expertise to recommend a reliable appliance package. Unfortunately, three of the four GE appliances have required warranty service. The warranty ended up being of little value because Johnson Mertz does not perform repairs and instead refers customers to a third-party warranty company. That company was unable to find anyone willing to repair the appliances (yet I was able to find several local repair people myself) so they declared them unrepairable and offered only partial gift cards toward replacements. To make matters worse, GE will not deliver replacement appliances to northern Minnesota, meaning we would have to travel to Minneapolis to pick them up ourselves. I've now been without a refrigerator for 45 days, lost hundreds of dollars in spoiled food, and spent countless hours trying to resolve this. I am awaiting help from JM but have lost confidence they care. A shame, as my father purchased from them believing we'd be in good hands. Appliances can fail. What matters is how a retailer stands behind its customers when they do. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Johnson Mertz. If I were purchasing appliances today, I would choose Best Buy or Daughtery Appliance instead. read more

We bought a Frigidaire refrigerator and waited almost a month and a half for it to come in and be delivered. It has had water on all shelves in the freezer and ice box since we got it less then a month ago and we can't get them to fix it. I will not buy another Frigidaire product nor will Ibuy any thing from Johnson Mertz. read more

Was sent to Johnson Repair Service in Superior to repair our Liebherr refrigerator, purchased at Johnson-Mertz. Superior repair service has been a nightmare! Paid for the service call, told part would be ordered. That was 6 weeks ago. I have called numerous times, even stopped at Johnson Mertz and asked for help. Was told they would try and call me back. No help, no call back. I will not consider another appliance purchase from Johnson-Mertz without any 'after sale' service. We buy high end appliances and will look to Minneapolis for our next purchase. Too bad, so sad. read more

If I could give it a zero I would. It cost $100 dollars to deliver our refrigerator less than 3 miles. That isn't even the big deal, we knew that when we bought it. The thing is they were late and even that I can overlook, things happen. When they got to the house they informed me they would not hook up the water because it was a plastic line. I'm a 70 year old, old lady on the floor hooking up the water as they watched. My husband was at the doctor. The final blow was after they left I noticed they gouged the base board in the front entry. Couldn't even say whoops, sorry! I would not recommend buying anything from Johnson-Merton. read more

I went to buy my new Speed Queen washer from these people because I read that Daugherty Appliance had poor service. Well, I guess it didn't matter who I purchase from because these people have the shitiest service I've ever dealt with in my life!!! I'd only had the washer for about 2 weeks and had an issue with the fabric softener spewing all over the washer and my clothes. I called and talked to a salesmen who told me he'd put in for a service call. Fortunately for me I was smart enough to call Speed Queen directly and ask for help. They helped me resolve the problem over the phone. Yesterday, after waiting 3 plus weeks, I finally got a phone from the service company. Basically, I told them to shove it where the sun doesn't shine. DON'T EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM JOHNSON-MERTZ!!!! read more

Absolutely terrible experience! Would not recommend! We bought and paid for in full, a full set of high end appliances. They were not ordered properly (forgot to order pieces of several of the appliances), were not installed properly ( had to hire a repair man to fix), and took them 20 months to get all of the pieces installed and working!!! We have a complicated laundry room setup, and they bent over backwards finding the right washer replacement, assuring it would fit, and delivering on time with excellent installation. Go anywhere else to buy your appliances. Having a separate company to provide service to the appliances they sell is not in the customer's best interest. We bought a full kitchen of GE Monogram appliances in 2008. It took us six weeks and many frustrating communications to determine that a part was no longer available. We were without a refrigerator during that time. read more

Be sure you clearly understand the appliance service policy. If you live more than 20 miles away, beware that you will need to wait until 3 people ( yes-3) need service. That could be anyone's guess. But if your need is immediate they will come out but with a HUGE service call bill attached. read more

My husband and I purchased Electrolux appliances from Johnson-Mertz in 2011. We have had nothing but issues with both the stove and the dishwasher. We have had a $600 (closer to $700) part replaced on the oven and the oven still bakes uneven. Of course we were just outside of the warranty so we paid out of pocket; even though service had been here two times previously for the same issue but never fixed the problem. Our dishwasher has just been removed and replaced by Sears! We have had the service people here for various things on the dishwasher. The last of which was no power to the computer board or the actual machine. I am rating Johnson-Mertz low because we called the store multiple times to speak with a manager or the owner and received zero help or call backs. The person on the phone kept stating it was a repair issue and that Johnson-Mertz service was a different operation. Then after being transferred to service, yet again, service would state they only had one person ordering parts and he was working on it. Really! It had been over two weeks since a technician had been here to put in a different part. In my opinion, even being different operations, they operate the same....Poor customer service and junk products. We were trying to be loyal to a fellow Concordia graduate but never again! I would not send my worst enemies here to spend their hard earned dollars. Buyer beware is the best advice I can type, because the minute something goes wrong you are on your own. I have had NOTHING but terrible service. We ordered our 2nd washer from Prime Appliance in Superior in which the 1st washer only lasted 3 1/2 years! On delivery of the 2nd washer...it's was extremely cold and delivered from the back of a pick up truck...after waiting several hours for the washer to "warm up" - I started it and it leaked all over my floor. So, there was a crack upon delivery..hence the very cold day! I called Prime Appliance and they sent out a tech from Johnson Mertz...which turned out to be A WEEK LATER...after the tech looked at it and determined we needed a part, they will be back the next day..NOPE! ANOTHER phone call...they won't make it until a later day. SO, after almost 2 weeks without EVER using my wash machine, I am STILL waiting.... I have spent 2 days at HOME, waiting to be denied service. With a family, laundry piles up..can you imagine what this looks like waiting to be washed. GO ELSEWHERE! read more
