Course is always in nice shape & majority of the players that show up here play relatively quick - which is a plus for me.

Both the layout and condition were in very good shape considering all the rain.

I hadn't played miniature golf on City Island in YEARS, so when a beautiful May evening rolled…read morearound with almost-summer sunshine, it felt like the perfect excuse to revisit Water Golf for a little friendly competition. The first thing I noticed when we walked up? This place was BUSY! For a Tuesday evening, I was honestly surprised by how many people were there. Families, couples, groups of friends...my adventure buddy and I clearly weren't the only ones who thought mini golf sounded like the perfect way to spend the evening. The course was full, but everyone was in good spirits and we didn't mind waiting our turn. Admission was $11 per adult, which felt like a fair price for such a well-maintained 18-hole course. We grabbed our putters and brightly colored golf balls and headed out to see if either of us still had any mini golf skills left. One thing that immediately stood out was how beautiful the course looked. Water Golf has been recognized as VisitPA.com's Best Mini-Golf Course, and it's easy to see why. The landscaping was gorgeous. Fresh mulch, blooming flowers, well-maintained greens, waterfalls, bridges, and plenty of water features made the entire course feel inviting and scenic. It doesn't feel like someone simply dropped 18 holes onto a piece of land. It feels thoughtfully designed to take advantage of City Island and the beautiful views of the Susquehanna River. The staff also deserve some recognition. While we were playing, one employee was walking the course with a leaf blower, clearing leaves that were actively falling from the trees. That's the kind of attention to detail you don't see everywhere, and I really appreciated the effort to keep the course looking its best throughout the evening. The holes themselves were a lot of fun, with enough slopes, water hazards, and tricky shots to keep things interesting without becoming frustrating. There's even a scenic overlook near the 13th hole with swings and a beautiful spot to take a break or snap a few photos before continuing your round. And, perhaps most importantly...I left with the title of MINI GOLF CHAMPION! I feel this is a very important detail and should absolutely be included in the historical record. Whether that title survives the inevitable rematch, however, remains to be seen. Water Golf made for a fantastic date night. Beautiful setting, well-maintained course, friendly staff, reasonable prices, and just enough friendly competition to make the evening memorable. I'll absolutely be back this summer to defend my championship title!

It takes about an hour to play the 18 holes. It's not as easy as it looks; skill is required to get the golf ball in the holes. There's even a little stand to get a bite to eat or ice cream and slushies.

The venue was beautifully decorated for the holiday season and had a tasty cocktail/happy hour with a fantastic bartender and appetizers. We had a sit down meal that consisted of salad, your choice of entree (steak, haddock or tortellini) and a dessert bar with coffee that satisfied every taste. Staff were very friendly and helpful but with such a large event they seemed a little overwhelmed or could've used another person or two. We had to flag them down for water refills and eventually just went to the bartender for refills. Parking was a bit strange as you had to park on the side of the road or in a small lot that wasn't very well lit. This was around 6pm when its pretty dark and back a windy country road. Once that parking lot filled up there was a larger lot a bit back but again it was so dark and not well let we weren't sure if if was the right one or not.

The answer is quite simple. Take them to the Mother's Day Brunch at The Lodge at Liberty Forge. Behold the splendor which awaits you: *Tepid water as your free beverage. In fairness, coffee was available. *As an upcharge I ordered 3 raspberry iced teas. It was unsweetened, lacking raspberry flavoring with a strong chemical taste. Not drinkable. * I would have had Manhattan clam chowder. The container was so low the soup could not be cradled. * Chafing dishes which were all open resulting in the food not being warm. Case in point-- French toast with an unmelted pat of butter on each piece. Where is the maple syrup? You'll find it at the carving station which makes no sense. *Carving station--occasionally staffed. Otherwise, you were treated to irregular cut slices which again were cold from not being under a heat source. Au jus, as with everything else, was not hot and flavorless. *Carolina Fritta--I like my eggs, potatoes, and Smoked Cheddar Cheese not to be room temperature. The Mother's Day Buffet is egregious. Save your money unless your goal is punishment. After leaving this wonderful buffet I fulfilled my hunger at Burger King-- 2 Whopper Jr's for $5.00. Now that's pleasurable! Jack B.
