Attended an event for our end of the year party here for work. A beautiful venue, we had a great time seeing fellow co workers in person and listening to a great DJ. The venue was beautifully decorated for the holiday season and had a tasty cocktail/happy hour with a fantastic bartender and appetizers. We had a sit down meal that consisted of salad, your choice of entree (steak, haddock or tortellini) and a dessert bar with coffee that satisfied every taste. Staff were very friendly and helpful but with such a large event they seemed a little overwhelmed or could've used another person or two. We had to flag them down for water refills and eventually just went to the bartender for refills. Parking was a bit strange as you had to park on the side of the road or in a small lot that wasn't very well lit. This was around 6pm when its pretty dark and back a windy country road. Once that parking lot filled up there was a larger lot a bit back but again it was so dark and not well let we weren't sure if if was the right one or not. read more

The answer is quite simple. Take them to the Mother's Day Brunch at The Lodge at Liberty Forge. Behold the splendor which awaits you: *Tepid water as your free beverage. In fairness, coffee was available. *As an upcharge I ordered 3 raspberry iced teas. It was unsweetened, lacking raspberry flavoring with a strong chemical taste. Not drinkable. * I would have had Manhattan clam chowder. The container was so low the soup could not be cradled. * Chafing dishes which were all open resulting in the food not being warm. Case in point-- French toast with an unmelted pat of butter on each piece. Where is the maple syrup? You'll find it at the carving station which makes no sense. *Carving station--occasionally staffed. Otherwise, you were treated to irregular cut slices which again were cold from not being under a heat source. Au jus, as with everything else, was not hot and flavorless. *Carolina Fritta--I like my eggs, potatoes, and Smoked Cheddar Cheese not to be room temperature. The Mother's Day Buffet is egregious. Save your money unless your goal is punishment. After leaving this wonderful buffet I fulfilled my hunger at Burger King-- 2 Whopper Jr's for $5.00. Now that's pleasurable! Jack B. read more

I was so disappointed with the luncheon served for my daughter's baby shower. I was actually humiliated in front of my family and friends. The roast beef in the sandwiches was not rare as advertised, and were so thin and poorly displayed that they belonged on an elementary school lunch counter. The chicken sandwiches were impossible to eat because the bread was so hard that it was inedible. We also had inedible flatbread pizzas that were anemic and served cold. The margarita pizza had 2 slices of tasteless cheese, cold and congealed and 2 thin slices of tomato. The flatbread looked like a half of a stale pita bread. The toppings were so sparse that you needed a magnifying glass to see them on the very, very tasteless "flatbread." All my guests went home hungry! It was so over-the-top horrible that my friends didn't even pretend to be nice. Rather they told me to demand a refund. The ONE good thing was the banquet staff who ran the luncheon very nicely and tried very hard to make the pitiful lunch look good. read more

My nonprofit organization received OUTSTANDING service at our February 2022 event. We had over 90 people at this event which consisted of a program, dinner, and dancing. We were so impressed by the continual communication and attention to our needs during the event. The room was beautiful, the food was excellent and the service was very professional. We had many people remark on the quality of the buffet dinner. Often keeping the standards of a buffet can be a challenge, but everyone from first to last in line all received the same wonderful food. The waitstaff and bartender were friendly, hardworking, and considerate. Our event was such a success; we raised over $12,000 for homeless individuals and families!!! Thank you! read more

My friends got married here recently and I was part of the wedding. The venue was beautifully set up. We were at the The Lodge all day to get ready and prepare for the wedding. The bride and the bridesmaids got ready downstairs, where we had plenty of room to have our hair and makeup done. The groom and the groomsmen got ready in a large room that was also located downstairs. Kiersten was so accommodating all day and was very helpful throughout the evening too! The ceremony was in the room where the dance floor would become. The staff had the flow of changing the ceremony space down very quickly! The dance floor was very large, which was next to the room that held 10 tables (of approximately 9 or 10 people). We thought the food was delicious, I had the salmon. My boyfriend had the steak. Overall, it was a beautiful wedding and I thought that the staff was very helpful. read more

Attended a wedding here. From what I hear, it seems to be the only game in town, and it shows. After just getting married myself, I know what to look for, and I'm thinking the wedding party got robbed. Firstly, we were lead down to the basement "the back way" which meant down a stingy back staircase which was dirty and were paraded past the kitchen complete with stacks of glassware. The cash bartender was fine, but served us in plastic cups for a wedding! ack! Then my sister-in-law was served meat and when she explained she was a vegetarian they told her there was no food and there's nothing they can do. (This is at a place which is also a restaurant mind you.) Only after someone else made a big deal, and pulled over a manager did she get served something. The dance floor was 4 by 4 squares and everyone was shoved on it like sardines. Finally there was another, larger wedding upstairs which clearly got more attention than the one I attended. Attended a wedding here (after just getting married ourselves) and like the previous reviewer who wrote their review years ago, I can fully agree with and say that nothing at this place has changed. Sam, the bartender was the only wonderful thing that I can say about this place. If you like fruity drinks, ask him about his special. Here are some points if you are considering this venue for your event: 1. They stuck the cake by the window with the sun beating down on it on a 95 degree day. When the bride and groom went to cut into it, it toppled because it had melted on one side. 2. The dinnerware was filthy. Several people asked several times for clean stemware and cups, and it took the waitstaff a very long time to get these to the people who needed them. 3. No dance floor. The guests were bored. 4. The waitstaff forgot to put out champagne for the toast..the guests had nothing to toast with. 5. The waitstaff was clearly not trained well, or just rude. She did not introduce herself, just stood behind me and asked, "Chicken or beef." Having not seen a menu, not knowing how the dishes were being prepared, I wanted to make sure that there were no items I was allergic to and asked how they were being prepared. She said she didn't know, and my husband asked for clarification, "is it grilled with a side of something, or mixed in a sauce?" At which point the waitress walked away from our table to get the manager who yelled at us. They were upset with us for causing a disturbance in their schedule and we should select the item that was on the wedding invitation (that we received three months prior). The entire table of ten guests we were sitting with stopped to tell the manager that there was no menu card in their invitation and told the manager that this was very unnecessary for her to get involved with a simple question (if this was a professional wedding venue). The manager stood up and put up her hand and said, "No, don't tell me this. I know what was on the invitation." And walked away. I don't know how she would know what the invitation looked like, but it was incredibly unprofessional on both the waitress and manager. 6. The food was microwaved and cold when it arrived at the tables. The chicken was cut in two with cold cut ham in the center with some sort of nacho cheese goop on top. My husband got cold cut roast beef with brown gravy. The portions were sample size. read more

We had an excellent brunch experience at Liberty Forge this past Mother's Day. As someone with event experience, I appreciated the presentation and variety of the food, the way it was kept hot and trays were refreshed until well after brunch was scheduled to end. As far as everyone else in my party, they were impressed because everything we tried was absolutely delicious! (To name a few highlights: prime rib station, smoked salmon tortellini, potato crusted haddock and cream of crab soup. And the "19th Hole" cocktail!) The view of the greens from the patio are idyllic, very photogenic. Last but not least to mention, Sam went above and beyond to take care of us. He's completely accommodating and hilarious; Liberty Forge is lucky to have him. We can't wait to stop by again! read more

The Lodge at Liberty Forge exceeded our expectations for our son and daughter-in-law's wedding this past weekend. The place is beautiful, the views amazing but most of all the staff was wonderful to work with. Our children planned this long distance and were so pleased with every interaction and reference they received. A huge shout out to Tad. Without him, this wedding would have lacked the attention to detail and professionalism he provided.cant day enough! read more

I've taken my kids to the driving range a number of times and it is well maintained. There isn't anything special about it. It is clean and always stocked with balls. About 30 balls for $5 I think. read more

The employees here think it is okay to drive golf balls at your car when you leave. I left the parking lot and accidentally went out the wrong lane, I guess that pissed off an employee that was driving balls (only an employee would care). After I turned onto the main road, a golf ball landed very close to my car that could ONLY have been purposely done. read more
