Bonus: an appearance from the Easter Bunny? Say less. We were in! Booking tickets online was super simple, and we selected the 12pm seating. Ahead of the event, we received instructions via email directing us to obtain a Visitor's Pass to access the Carlisle Barracks, which I appreciated -- anything to streamline the day-of process. Unfortunately, their automated pass system was down, and despite multiple attempts to resolve it ahead of time, we were told to just arrive 30 minutes early with IDs and handle it on-site. That's where the adventure began. On Easter morning, we plugged the provided address into GPS and confidently set off... only to be led to a closed gate with a sign that simply read: "GATE CLOSED. USE OTHER GATE." Cool, cool, cool. Which gate? Where? I don't live or work here. No idea. Calls to the contact number went unanswered (understandable given the holiday, but still not ideal), and we found ourselves driving around Carlisle trying to solve what felt like an Easter scavenger hunt we did not sign up for. We eventually made an executive decision to head to the Visitor Center, which -- surprise! -- is exactly where we should have gone in the first place. Once there, we got through security fairly easily, but were given only verbal directions to the venue. We were told there would be "good signage." Spoiler alert: there was not. We had to stop twice to ask for directions before finally finding the building. By the time we parked, I was equal parts relieved and hangry. We arrived about 30 minutes early as instructed and checked in, only to be told to wait in the bar area because the kitchen was "catching up." Totally fair -- things happen -- but the check-in area already felt a bit chaotic. The bar experience followed suit, with some confusion around seating and tabs, but we rolled with it and grabbed drinks while we waited. As noon approached, the lobby filled quickly with guests waiting to be seated. After confirming we wouldn't lose our place in line (because we had, in fact, been waiting patiently), we were finally seated right on time. Once inside the banquet room, we quickly realized this was going to be a bit of a self-service experience beyond the buffet. We were glad we had already grabbed drinks, because our server didn't make it to our table until we were well into dessert. Around the room, other guests were also wondering about drinks, table clearing, and general service. It was clear the team was doing their best, but the coordination just wasn't quite there. Now -- let's talk about the food, because this is where things turned around. The buffet itself was really well done. A great mix of breakfast and lunch options, with everything from eggs and bacon to carved meats, mac and cheese, and roasted vegetables. There was something for everyone, and everything we tried was solid. But the absolute standout? The chocolate cake with peanut butter icing and crushed Reese's peanut butter cups. Listen...this cake was LIFE-CHANGING! Rich, decadent, perfectly peanut buttery -- I had a massive slice and absolutely could have gone back for more (and considered it). My adventure buddies were equally impressed with the candied sweet potatoes and the Italian lemon crème cake. For $35 per person, the food absolutely delivered. We made sure to grab photos with the roaming Easter Bunny before heading out, which really tied the whole experience together and gave it that festive, holiday feel we were hoping for. Overall, despite the logistical challenges getting onto the base, the lack of clear directions, and the somewhat disorganized service, we genuinely had a really nice Easter. Not having to cook, clean, or plan a full meal was a win, and the food quality made it worthwhile. Would I attend another public event here? Possibly -- especially if the price and menu felt right. Would I host an event here? I'd have some hesitation based on the coordination challenges we experienced. But as far as Easter 2026 goes...we ate well, got our bunny photos, and made it an adventure -- which, honestly, is kind of on brand.

She has a wonderful ability to step in when needed while allowing the day to unfold naturally, which made everything feel seamless and stress-free for both the couple and the parents. Since this was a destination wedding for us, planning from afar could have been overwhelming, but Melanie made the entire process manageable and even enjoyable. When an issue arose with the caterer, she stepped in right away and helped resolve it without adding stress. Honestly, the only thing she can't control is the weather--everything else is handled with care and expertise. Bought train tickets for an Easter event. It was our first time here and the email emphasized…read morearriving well before our scheduled ride, which we did. However arriving so early meant the staff were either uninformed of the days events or just not ready. Signage was confusing on where to park and we ultimately were forced to return to our car with three little kids in tow, move it to a grassy area in desperate need of a mow, than wait in the car due to the cold until the shuttle was set up and we were taken go the train. The Easter train and activities that day were nice, although I still felt the staff weren't knowledgeable, and when we approached customer service for a program of the days events after seeing other people with them, they were even confused on where to get them. Other than misinformation, we enjoyed that day. My grandson found a gold egg for which they comped us the $35 ticket to the 4th of July festivities. The 4th of July activities were promoted heavily on Facebook and listed alot of great activities for kids one would assume would be included in the ticket cost. They also had fireworks, which we did not plan on staying for. My grandkids were excited to go on the train ride and get their faces painted. Neither happened, because once there we were told the train ride was an additional $15 per person and that the face painters were a no show. We were directed to a lower barn, a good walk from where we were with 3 small kids and told that's where the kids activities were. I don't consider food trucks and a coloring page "kids activities " but wherever. Annoyed we made the long trek back up the hill to the star barn in 90 + degree weather before a nice employee saw us struggling with the double stroller and gave us a ride on her golf cart, for which we were very thankful. The activities up there weren't much either. A gaga ball pit and corn hole, and the same coloring page inside. Bull rides and pony rides were an additional fee. The petting zoo was free but lame. 2 donkeys, 2 ponies, and two lamas we had no access to. The entertainment was a juggler who thought he was funny but failed to entertain adults and children alike. Every where you turned there were nickel and dime fees. So what was the $35 fee for? I'm assuming to see fireworks you can see elsewhere for free. So glad our ticket was comped, as this event was lame, and the hour we wasted there, mostly walking in extreme heat we can never get back.

Maybe to the front of the building. It causes disruptions during the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception when people are trying to park where the bridal party is walking for the ceremony, or when people are trying to eat on the patio or play games.

3 days ago We got married at The Mill at Manor Falls one…read moremonth ago! It was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!! The Mill is gorgeous! The first floor was used for our reception. It comfortably fit 17 tables (with room for more), a sweetheart table, a dance floor, and a permanently installed bar. As well as the gift table, cake table, memorial table, DJ booth, and a buffet line for dinner. The room had a beautiful cozy ambiance with lower ceilings and string lights wrapped throughout the room. The second floor and outside on their patio is where we had our cocktail hour, it was very spacious and they had plenty of tables, chairs, and high top tables for our guests to use. We decided to rent a dry bar for the cocktail hour as they only have one bar on the first floor reception area. The second floor also contains a beautiful large bridal suite with a private bathroom, and a much smaller groom's room which worked fine for the men. We had our wedding outside at their permanently installed Pergola. Our florist decorated it with flowers, greenery and tulle, and it looked beautiful! It TOTALLY fit my enchanted wedding theme! We had to bring our own table to use for the sand ceremony which was fine as a family member made a table for us as a gift! We narrowly missed a rain storm but the owners Laura and Don Dombach had clear umbrellas on hand to come to our rescue if need be! There are many beautiful photo opportunities on their grounds too! They do have a waterfall but the path to it was muddy so we missed that photo opp. Since the wedding I have talked to the owner and she said they have laid down stones on the path to the waterfall so future bride's can get to it easier! The owners were around all day helping any way they could! They were SO easy and fun to work with! I highly recommend this venue! We were only the 2nd wedding they've EVER had, and I would have thought they were doing this for years!! The price is a little high but comparable and cheaper than other venues in the area I had looked at. They also worked with us on a price as we were on a budget.
