He put me out his office and said you might have Covid. I told him it was my Asthma and do he want me to take a Covid test. He said "if you pay for it you can, but the nurse that do the Covid test isn't there". I refuse to go back and forth with him. So, I went to the emergency room and they put me on oxogen and gave me two treatments. Also, I told them to check me for Covid and it came back Negative. As a doctor you suppose to make sure your patients are good. He didn't call a ambulance or anything he just put me out. I could've died leaving his office good thing someone was with me. I will never go back there. I found a better doctor and she makes sure she calls and check up on her patients. Katherine, those are lies you're writing. He put me out of the office with no care to my well-being or my medical concerns. I could not breath and I told him I couldn't. Why would I come back to receive care from someone who put me out when I needed help. I would've never did this to a patient. I am the victim so stop making it seem like he is!!

Unfortunately.. I suffered a complete ACL Tear earlier this year, JAN 2009…read more Fortunately I met with an amazing surgeon, Dr. Andrew Rokito, at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases. I first spoke with one of his assistants, Iyvonne, who gave me immediate attention coordinating X-rays, meeting the doctor (on his break in between surgeries), and getting my MRI done. Dr. Rokito recommended a few physical therapy sessions to strengthen my quads before surgery and with a week's wait time the swelling would have lessened enough to operate. Dr. Rokito was the sports doctor for the Mets up until 2004, so when we talked about repairing my ACL I knew he would be capable of doing an excellent repair regardless of graft choice. (I chose the strongest graft, my patella tendon.) SInce ACL Reconstruction is no joke, i can't tell you how comforting it was to know my surgeon is one thee best orthopaedic surgeons and is the head of his dept. I will also say that the staff of lovely nurses at the x-ray facility were very nice, almost to the point that I felt like I was given special treatment. Dr. Rokito is VERY highly respected, I could tell by interacting with other of his colleagues, other surgeons. His staff is also incredible, which was the first sign that i found an amazing doctor, he is surrounded by an outstanding team. I was told Dr. Rokito's hands are like magic. Post surgery, my follow up visit with Dr. ROkito gave me an extra boost of confidence to walk with a regular gait and to protect the scarring from any sun. I felt at ease with the whole surgery and recovery process and absolutely felt that i was in the best care possible. I am approx 5 months post op, 100% confident in a perfectly healed knee (Dr. Rokito said so) and continuing to work on regaining all my muscle strength in pt. If you are unsure about picking a doctor or surgeon, go with the best, reputable Doctor you can trust.

By way of comparison: both an Italian and a Russian doctor were able to diagnose me in just 10 minutes during an online consultation--immediately after reviewing my test results. The diagnosis: axillary nerve compression. This Dr. Rokito is a terrible human being who is indifferent to people's health; perhaps he is simply an incompetent specialist, but I suspect he is merely uninterested in patients with low-cost insurance plans--moreover, I distinctly felt that I was being treated with disdain. I spent two months waiting to see this Rokito, only for the doctor himself to grant me a paltry 10 minutes--and not even provide a diagnosis, essentially stating just one thing: "I cannot, and will not, help you." Doctors like this should burn in hell--or find a profession other than medicine.

Well this thing that decided to raise up on my toe has been getting bigger and bigger. It was getting irritated from all my walking. I asked three doctors and was given three different answers as to what it is. I tried wart remover a couple years ago and that made it worse. I decided to leave it alone since it didn't bother me. Well finally today I decided to visit Dr. Rosen's office to make an appointment. 177 East 87th has two or three entrances. Lucky for me I asked someone entering the building and I was told Mt. Sinai was inside. Dr. Rosen is affiliated with Mt. Sinai. I made my way to the 4th floor following a lady that had an appointment with him. I was glad I went in to make my appointment because I was asked if I wanted to see him today. I was ecstatic. I just wanted to get this thing off my toe. After filling out about five forms and presenting my insurance cards I wasn't there very long before he squeezed me in between his exiting appointments. Within less than two hours, I had X-rays, blood circulation tests, and had a long talk with two of his staff AND Dr. Rosen about my medical history and current state of health. The diagnosis was made of bone cyst (or spur). He said he would remove the protruding skin to give me relief. He gave me a local numbing medicine (like Novocain of the toe) that wears off in five hours. We will see! Next steps; I keep the bandage on until Friday and then just use a Band-Aid. I return in a week to have him be sure it's healing. He is now Marianne's Podiatrist. His staff made me feel like I was a long time patient. They are very laid back and nice, including Dr. Rosen. They really have a system in place to move multiple patients through their tests and appointments without a hitch. I was thoroughly impressed. I'm happy they will see me early in the morning next week. I'm praying for a clean bill of health!

My husband was involved in a horrible incident while visiting New Orleans. He was out with friends…read morewhen a shooting occurred not far from them and he was knocked down during the stampede of panicked people. He was thrown down and landed hard on his shoulder. The ER down there told him his shoulder was broken and he should see an orthopedist right away as he would need surgery. Our GP recommended Dr. Cleeman and the amazing receptionist,Toni, in the Manhattan Ortho Astoria office was able to fit us in a couple days later. X-rays confirmed the shoulder was not only broken but it was shattered! Dr Cleeman said it was one of the worst cases like this he had ever seen. The ball was literally flipped over from the socket joint and was hanging upside down. YIKES. Rather than replacing the entire shoulder, most likely requiring future surgeries for upkeep, Dr. Cleeman felt he could repair the bones and put Humpty Dumpty back together again. And a couple days later, he did just that! After a very successful four hour surgery and a couple hours in recovery, hubs was home on the couch! At his follow up appointment a couple weeks later, he could already move the shoulder a bit and was recovering well. Dr Cleeman removed the bandages and I couldn't believe what we saw. What I forgot to mention earlier is that my husband has a half sleeve tattoo that goes up over his shoulder. It is very special to us as it has the US and Icelandic flags intertwined with a compass representing our paths in life that led us to each other (I am from Iceland originally). We had already accepted the fact that the tattoo would have to be cut for the surgery and Dr. Cleeman told us that the incision would go directly through the center of the Icelandic flag. But when he took off those bandages, we could hardly even tell where the incision had been made! Partly due to the glue they use now rather than exterior stitches, but mostly due to the fact that Dr Cleeman is a true artist and moved the incision place over a bit. He said putting the tattoo back together took almost as long as putting the shoulder back together but he he knew it was important to us. WOW! I literally had tears in my eyes. What an incredibly awesome and unexpected surprise!! It's about three months post surgery now and my husband is recovering so well and we couldn't be happier! Everything about our experience with Manhattan Ortho has been great! Toni has always been responsive and so helpful every time we have called and needed anything. They are both such caring people and I am so thrilled to be able to recommend them to anyone looking for an Orthopedist!!

I came here a few months ago and left feeling incredibly disappointed by Dr. Duarte. As time…read moreprogressed, I became increasingly disappointed with the entire office. Medical care: I saw Dr. Duarte for foot pain. First time i saw him, he was very distracted and answered his personal phone. Then, he sent me for an MRI. When I went back the second time to review the MRI results, he was over an hour late to our appointment and said "yeah I have other patients". Upon glimpsing over the MRI, he said "you have dead bone in your big toe". He advised me to stop running, to stop wearing high heels and stop doing anything that caused me pain etc. and offered to go over shoes I wear with me to ensure comfort. When I asked for physical therapy to regain movement in my toe, he said "I don't prescribe that when the bone has atrophied like that". At 32 years old, limiting me in this way led me to get a second opinion. The second doctor identified the issue and many months later, I'm doing PT to address it. I have since regained mobility in my big toe and can enjoy sports again. Approval for an MRI: I called 4 times so someone would get back to me and left multiple voicemails when following the right IVR process. I eventually selected a different number, got to a person who said "oh we never check that voicemail". Billing: of course, several months after I saw Dr. Duarte, I find out they didn't bill my insurance correctly so I "owed" a $400+ bill. All in all, with the exception of one person who cared about the billing issue, I wouldn't recommend any aspect of this practice and definitely not the doctor who showed such indifference to his patient's problem.

It was my main reference as I navigated things, turns out Dr. Anthony wrote it! If I hadn't known it already, I def knew then, that I was in the best hands possible. It was such a relief.

In sum, the wait was not long to be taken in to see the doctor and the staff was very nice as well.
